Chapter 87 Conditions

Name:MMORPG: Crowd Control Author:
As the tension in the meeting room continued to rise, three elderly-looking men coughed and grabbed everyone's attention.

"Apologies, but this is a demilitarized zone constructed by numerous countries and cities. Please show some respect and retract your violent behavior, Prince Leon." One of the three elderly men said and stared at Prince Leon.

He was wearing silk fabric robes and had two powerful bodyguards behind him, indicating his identity was not to be belittled.

Being called out like that, Prince Leon had to swallow his anger even if he didn't want to.

As long as he attacked, then his life would instantly perish and no one would care about it.

In fact, he was sure that was what everyone present wanted him to do.

"Hmph, I was merely kidding with my words. How can I possibly make a move in front of everyone in this zone?" Prince Leon fixed his collar and sat back down.

"Cowardly as always." Prince Carter snickered.

Despite the two of them currently working together, the grudges between them remained.

It could be said their cooperation was laying on thin ice, ready to be melted at any point.

Meanwhile, Kate took this opportunity to finally begin the reason for the truce meeting.

"You two are my elder brothers no matter what, so I'm not going to be heartless as to take your life," Kate said calmly.

"As long as you two surrender unconditionally, I can promise to have our father not execute you for treason. At the same time, I want you to reveal the name of the black mage that you hired to ambush me, Leon." She added.

Kate expected Prince Leon to deny this accusation since who would be dumb enough to admit to doing such a hideous crime?

However, Prince Leon's reaction somewhat astonished her and Lei Zhen as well.

"Black Mage? What the heck are you talking about? Don't you dare try to add some ridiculous crime to smear my name? I might be defeated currently, but that doesn't mean you can add on whatever crimes you want." Prince Leon was agitated, almost as if he was about to burst again from the hard accusation.

"Why are you still denying it? I've said it, as long as you admit it, I'll pretend that this particular incident never happened." Kate shouted back.

"Admit what? Are you trying to frame me like what you did to Carter?" Prince Leon slammed the table, his face filled with rage.

Everyone knew he was a scheming bastard already, and now that the situation had come to this, he could only admit to the crimes he did, so why would he try to deny another crime in his name?

He knew this so-called truce meeting was actually a condition to surrender and was hoping to keep his life. Yet he didn't expect Kate to be so cruel as to smear his name further and add on a fake crime of colluding with a black mage.

Just when Kate wanted to continue talking, Lei Zhen placed his hand on her shoulders.

"Wait a minute, Princess Kate. I don't think Prince Leon is lying." Lei Zhen whispered to her.

Kate raised an eyebrow.

"Are you sure about that?" She asked in a low voice.

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

As much as he despised Prince Leon, he knew full well when a person was acting or not. He had studied human emotion before and one could obviously fake such an act.

However, from Prince Leon's reaction and his body movement that seemed to be trembling from anger, Lei Zhen could tell he had no clue what was going on.

Not to mention, his eyes told Lei Zhen that he wasn't lying.

Call it an instinct or somewhat, but Lei Zhen believed that the black mage had no connection with Prince Leon.

'If it's not Prince Leon, then who else hired the black mage?' Lei Zhen wondered silently.

Sometime later, Kate decided to brush off the matter of the black mage aside first.

Since she trusted Lei Zhen's words, then she wasn't going to pause the entire meeting for a single matter.

"First and foremost, I want the two of you to give up your military and return to me to meet with our father," Kate stated adamantly.

She was being generous at this point to let them keep their dignity to return to Yors Castle with her without being tied up. Otherwise, they could have continued the war and had them return in complete disgrace, all tied up.

Both Prince Carter and Prince Leon remained silent. Truth be told, they had no more cards available in their hand that could compete with Kate any further.

"Fine, but you must first clear my name about injuring you and using you as an excuse to gain public support." Prince Carter was the first to give in but demanded his honor to be clear.

During the war, he was never a cowardly man nor used any underhanded methods. He had only fought straight on and never backstabbed his enemies.

Kate nodded her head, readily agreeing to his request.

After all, it was the truth that she had accused an innocent man and this must be corrected even if she might receive backlash.

Lei Zhen also didn't step in to stop her from agreeing. Any dirty tactics can be used during wartime, but now that they are ready to surrender, then any more dirty tactics would stain his name.

Of course, Prince Leon's request was a bit hard for Kate to accept since it was he who started the rebellion, to begin with. Prince Leon wanted to keep his title and have his fief retained which was not something she could decide.

"That'll be decided by our father. I have no authority over this matter." Kate flat out said, not bothering the reaction of Prince Leon.

Even though she guaranteed his life would be spared, there was no chance of him having any more honor or fame from this moment on.

With everything finished discussing and under the witness of numerous countries and cities, Prince Leon and Prince Carter officially signed the surrender document, marking the end of the war.

Ding!
