Chapter 114 Persuasive

Name:MMORPG: Crowd Control Author:
When Griselda heard Lei Zhen's suggestion of returning after coming so far, she was flabbergasted.

What was the whole point of coming here if they wouldn't even fight with the black mage?

"You're joking right, Lei Zhen?" Griselda asked in a dazed tone.

"You must be joking for sure. How can you possibly ask to return back after gaining such valuable information?"

"I'm not joking. At the current moment, we still don't know the power level of the black mage, but I'm sure he is one tough opponent." Lei Zhen shook his head and calmly explained his reasoning.

The terrain and environment of the swamp were something they weren't used to. Hence, treading forward without a plan would be suicidal.

Besides, it's not like he was canceling the mission, but assigning the professionals to do the scouting work properly.

Only a fool would act without a plan and think behaving rashly was the best action. Tie Longkun was the perfect candidate for a fool that acted before he thought about it which resulted in him being in such a poor state.

Alas, Griselda thought otherwise and believed it was better to continue forward.

"We wasted too much time and effort to get here. If we return back then isn't our effort all for naught?" She said, unwilling to listen to his request.

"But with just the two of us, do you think it's enough to handle the black mage?"

"Of course not, but we are different. You have those special crowd-control skills to stun the black mage. As long as you immobilize him, the black mage would become a free live target to hit."

"And that's where you're wrong." Lei Zhen suddenly retorted.

"If Magnolia really allows such a broken class to appear, then do you think people would still play this game, to begin with?"

In his mind, he had never believed his Unique Class and skills to be capable of dominating the whole of Magnolia.

So far, he could only unlock debuff skill that doesn't have attack damage, but the main key was what if his enemies could resist his debuff.

There are no such things as absolute in this world, and neither would he start to believe his Unique Class to be the first to have absolutely no counter.

As Lei Zhen continued to explain his reasoning, Griselda was nearly on the edge of agreeing to his request.

"E-Even so… the things we did would be futile." She pouted, not willing to just give up halfway.

She had been traveling in this swamp with the muddy water, dirtying her clothes and some muddy water even seeped into her shoes.

With such sacrifices made, she was not willing to return back empty-handed.

Not to mention, they even subtly betrayed Tie Longkun in the meantime to come all the way here.

Lei Zhen sighed softly when he saw her acting this way.

Based on her behavior right now, Lei Zhen could tell she had already agreed with his explanation but was simply unable to accept this setback.

Given that her path had always been smooth sailing, to give up halfway today meant that she lost for once.

"I know 'failure' might not be a word in your dictionary, but you should look at things differently. We haven't failed yet and are merely preparing for a better tactic to tackle the obstacle." Lei Zhen said, hoping that she would understand his meaning.

So far, the information had shown that the black mage could cast a large range of fields of a domain that suppress players' abilities and is capable of summoning hundreds and hundreds of monsters.

Just these two alone made it difficult to even approach the black mage without any injuries.

Not to mention, who was to say there are no more hidden tricks under the black mage's sleeve?

If this so-called mission indeed had an impact on Magnolia as a whole, then it was clear that the black mage was an enemy that must not be underestimated at all costs.

Someone of his caliber could change a world like Magnolia must not be simple like the cabbages sold on the street.

"Ugh, why are you so good at persuading and convincing others to do whatever you say?" Griselda shook her legs a bit, splashing some muddy water in the meantime.

She was frustrated at the fact of being convinced by Lei Zhen, something that had never happened before.

Whenever she said one thing, no one would dare to say another thing opposite to what she said.

It was a newfound feeling or emotion that she was not used to.

pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "Let's just say you are a reasonable person that would listen to whatever is logical." Seeing her frustration, Lei Zhen came up with this to divert her mindset.

And it worked wonders since Griselda nodded her head readily.

"That's right, I'm a reasonable person and since your explanations are logical, then I'll obviously comply with it, unlike some spoiled brat." She said, sounding proud of herself.

"What an amazing woman you are. I'm sure a lot of women out there need to learn from your example so that the world can have a greater future." He clapped his hand.

"Hehe, let's return and have the imperial guards do the scouting work. I don't want to be in this swamp any longer either way."

After saying that, Griselda turned around and began walking without waiting for him.

'How great is it to be naive and ignorant of many matters?' Lei Zhen thought, smiling briefly at the carefree attitude of Griselda.

As a wealthy heiress, she doesn't need to worry about the rotten part of the world and enjoy the good things.

Shaking his head, Lei Zhen hurriedly followed Griselda and kept his thoughts to himself.

Sometime later, Lei Zhen and Griselda returned to the entrance of the swamp and were greeted by the imperial guards.

"Have the head come to me in the office. I have something to assign him with," Lei Zhen quickly commanded, not giving them a chance to say any flattery words.
