Lei Zhen was left aghast to see Robert Knightman being listed down on the paper.
He had to inspect it again to make sure he wasn't seeing things wrong.
'Why is Robert's name listed down? He's Kate's personal instructor and a good friend of the king. Not to mention, Robert doesn't seem to be the type to seek fortune or fame if he was willing to stay in that disgusting pit.' Lei Zhen thought to himself.
Feeling vexed by the names, Lei Zhen glared at Marquess Randal which instantly caused him to feel a shiver down his spine.
"Marquess Randal, are you sure the list of names you wrote down is legitimate? If you dared to falsify a name to frame them, then the consequences wouldn't be simple." Lei Zhen questioned him.
If Marquess Randal was merely trying to pin someone down to drag them with him, then Lei Zhen wouldn't be forgiving. Hence, he was giving him one last chance to confess if he was plotting such a malicious scheme.
Alas, Marquess Randal's reaction shattered Lei Zhen's inference.
"I-I dare not put a fake name there. All the names there are really what I know." Marquess Randal said in a panic tone, clearly wishing that Lei Zhen would believe him.
And he continued, "I can even swear upon a blood oath if you still doubt me, Chancellor."
Lei Zhen nodded his head.
"Then swear upon the blood oath." He calmly said.
Although it was no longer necessary given that Marquess Randal was willing to suggest that, Lei Zhen wanted to make sure that there are no chances of him deceiving them.
Sometime later, Marquess Randal did exactly as he suggested and swore upon the blood oath, indicating the list of names was real.
This was the most troublesome part for him since he couldn't find a reason for Robert Knightman to do such a thing.
Meanwhile, his silence caught Kate's attention who was waiting to read the list herself after him.
"Is there something wrong?" She asked curiously.
Lei Zhen remained silent and merely handed the list to her.
Once Kate received the list and scanned through the names, she was immediately astonished as well. Her eyes quickly stared at Lei Zhen, seemingly looking for an answer to this.
"Don't ask me since I'm trying to figure it out too." Lei Zhen shrugged his shoulders.
He was not omnipotent and wouldn't know everything just based on a few scenes or clues.
At the end of the day, he was still a normal human being and would have something that he is clueless about.
Kate composed herself and glanced at Marquess Randal.
"You are dismissed for now, and while we are preparing to cleanse the rotten people of our Yors Castle, you will be actively assisting us. Is that clear?" She said authoritatively.
"I shall oblige your words, Princess Kate." Not an ounce of hesitation could be seen as Marquess Randal quickly agreed to the command.
Kate merely waved her hand, unwilling to talk with him further.
It was out of goodwill and her position that she would even bother to converse with such a vile person.
Marquess Randal understood this point very well so he quickly left the Royal Palace, lest he earned the ire of Princess Kate again.
Lei Zhen also subtly dismissed Howard, leaving only him and Kate alone in the Royal Palace. He was sure she had something to discuss with him alone after seeing Robert Knightman on the name list.
"So what do you think about this?" Kate asked.
"Not sure, but I guess we'll need your father's help regarding this matter. After all, Robert could be considered your senior and it would be out of place if you are the one to question him." Lei Zhen said calmly.
Ever since he was informed about Robert's position and his role, Lei Zhen was more cautious toward him.
Kate nodded her head in agreement. This matter was too serious for her to handle at the moment.
"Let's go, my father should be in one of the sub mansions, enjoying his fruitful harem," Kate said, dissing her horny father in the meantime.
Lei Zhen could only smile bitterly at that diss.
Honestly, King Francis was living the dream life of most men. Have power and women by his side.
Alas, that wasn't the dream of Lei Zhen since he doesn't have the luxury to dream about such a fantasy. Too many things needed him to do and there was no time left to daydream.
Time slowly passed by, and after enquiring about the servants, Kate finally found her father's whereabouts.
ραпdα nᴏνa| сom King Francis was midway on the goodie but was dragged away by her, causing him to experience the pain of the blue ball.
"My dear daughter… What is wrong?" King Francis held a bittersweet smile as he fixed his clothes. If it was anyone else that dared to interrupt his lovey-dovey moment, then he would have them executed on the spot.
However, it was his doted daughter Kate and he knew if it wasn't for something urgent, then she wouldn't have dragged him out of the bedroom forcefully.
Lei Zhen also secretly prayed for Francis' well-being since getting the blue ball was every man's worst nightmare.
Nevertheless, that was all he did as he stood behind Kate and spectated from the sideline.
As for Kate, she didn't bother wasting time and went straight to the point, showing him the name list.
"This is the list written down by Marquess Randal of the corrupted nobles who schemed for the civil war. And there's a name that I need your opinion on." She said, pointing at Robert's name.
Just when Kate and Lei Zhen expected a huge reaction from Francis, their expectation was shattered when Francis started laughing heartily.
"Hahaha, my beloved daughter has finally grown up," Francis said joyfully, embracing Kate in the meantime.
"G-Get off me." Kate struggled to free herself and asked, "What do you mean by growing up?"
"Simple, Robert was a spy I sent to infiltrate, and I was waiting for the time you manage to spot the corrupted nobles."
