The women seemed to be quite naive in thinking that everyone would be polite and gentle considering how this incident caused them to receive a lot of shocks.
And being a gentleman, Lei Zhen would kindly give them some words of advice before planning to leave.
This matter was but a small incident in Lei Zhen's mind once they were killed by Candice.
They are probably now waiting for the death timer cooldown to run out before they could respawn back, and by that time, Lei Zhen would have already returned back to Cinderton.
"Wait a minute, sir. Can you still assist us in the dungeon? I'm too weak to kill many monsters at once and Bella's healing wouldn't be able to last long either." Jessica stepped forward and asked nervously.
She knew this incident alone would cause a bad impression on them, but she needed to complete the quest since there was a timer.
Originally, she was a bit confident to complete it with the help of those three men and if she managed to rope in Lei Zhen's party as well, then success was guaranteed.
Never did she expect her determination to guarantee a success would backfire and result in her losing the three men in the party as well.
"If I and Bella still don't complete the dungeon within 2 hours, then we'll have to restart from scratch or possibly lose the quest overall," Jessica explained.
"Yeah, we rarely have time to play much and struggled hard to reach the level we are at. If we fail this quest, then we would lose a lot of buffs." Bella added, showing a sad expression.
If it wasn't for their appearance, then Lei Zhen would have thought that these two women were some high school or college girls.
However, their appearance was extremely mature, and didn't seem to know much about video games either.
"May I ask, how old are you two?" Lei Zhen asked curiously.
"It doesn't take much to research a bit online and get to know your way around in Magnolia." He added, speaking from his personal experience.
When he first started, he was a clueless lamb, but now that he had researched quite a bit, he could be considered an intermediate. Hence, he found it hard to believe that these two women would struggle so much to complete a dungeon.
"Well, we could only say we're around the high 20s. After all, it's kind of rude to ask a woman her age and we have a busy life in the real world. It's hard to know everything in the game." Jessica replied swiftly.
Lei Zhen nodded his head.
It was true that not everyone could be crazy like some grinders that would play for the whole day and not get tired.
It was completely unrealistic to try to be like these grinders and if Lei Zhen might add, they are the kind of people that have no life besides the gaming world.
"You're right, that was quite rude of me to be prejudiced that everyone should have basic knowledge of Magnolia." Lei Zhen apologized sincerely.
Who was he kidding?
A few months ago, he was the same ignorant newbie that knew absolutely nothing.
How dare he try to act like some pro right now and talk others down?
"I can forgive you if you are willing to assist us in the dungeon. I have no time to return back to the city to gather some more players and the other players here are already teamed up with their friends." Jessica said depressingly, almost as if she was trying to guilt-trip Lei Zhen.
"..."
Although her guilt tripping was pretty nice, Lei Zhen was no simp and wouldn't agree to help them.
"I'll pass-"
"Great, Master. We can hunt for more monsters and gather more materials." Before Lei Zhen could even continue his words, Candice clasped her hand in joy.
Never did he expect the normally aloof Candice would be such a battle-hungry type of person.
She even had the guts to agree to someone's request without obtaining his permission first.
Meanwhile, Jessica was clever enough to read the situation and quickly changed her target of attention to Candice.
"Hello, amazing lady. I'm sure you are powerful considering your skills previously. I'll be happy to share the loot with you in a 70-30 split. I and Bella will get 30 whereas you'll get 70 percent of the loot." Jessica turned into a negotiator and said brightly.
"That's a deal, but I must clarify that we have the priority as to what loot to get." Candice smiled in return.
Meanwhile, Lei Zhen was completely side casted, almost as if his opinion doesn't matter.
Actually, the women had completely disregarded his opinion and feelings on the matter.
ραпdα nᴏνa| сom 'Am I the slave now or what?' Lei Zhen questioned himself when Candice began to discuss the details with Jessica and Bella.
Sometime later, Candice finished discussing the split of loot as she returned to Lei Zhen's side, showing an apologetic expression.
"I'm sorry for making the decision without your permission, Master. But this is a good opportunity for us anyway since we'll need to hunt a lot of monsters to increase the probability of gaining Magnoroid Cores." She explained. "Even if you wanted to increase the probability, what makes you think we should just team up with anyone else? Don't forget about who invaded your clan and caused you to be here." Lei Zhen facepalmed.
"Did you forget about my unique ability, Master?" Candice suddenly flashed a smirk.
"The wind told me those two are trustable and that alone is enough." She added, patting her chest in the meantime, almost as if she was proud of herself.
"And I've said it to not rely on the wind too much." He calmly retorted.
"But knowing this makes it better, right Master?" Candice tilted her head and smiled.
"Sigh, whatever. You already decided everything and if I back out now, Jessica is definitely going to guilt trip me further." Lei Zhen reluctantly agreed to party up with these two strangers.
