Chapter 888 The Clash of Angels and Demons

"Stop wasting our time and hand over Lorelai if you don't want a whipping," Azazel threatened, his voice dripping with malice.

Nyxos's brow twitched as he looked down at Azazel. "So irritable and impatient. Typical of an arrogant demon who thinks the world revolve around him. Very well then, if you want her so badly, then you can take her."

Azazel was taken aback. "Egh . . . Just like that?"

Nyxos smirked. "Yes, just like that."

Ren wasn't convinced; he could feel that something was amiss. There was definitely something more than that.

With a snap of his fingers, Nyxos summoned a blinding light as the air split open above them.

Suddenly, four angels descended, their wings fluttering gracefully behind them.

Each angel wielded a glowing hammer adorned with a holy symbol, while a shield rested confidently in their other hand. Their robust builds and flawless bodies exuded power and confidence.

Their voices rang with bombastic confidence but took a harsh, authoritative tone when confronting transgressors.

"Sinners!"

"They sins shall be purged!"

"Go back to the Netherworld where you belong."

"For a bunch of angels, they sure are judgmental," Elena muttered under his breath.

Desira scoffed. "That's what they do — being judgmental."

"You mean bringing judgment," Elena corrected.

"What are they? They look like Iraelyn with wings," Vivi commented with a hint of a laugh.

Iraelyn swiftly whacked her on the head. "Such blasphemy. I'm more buffed and stronger, obviously."

"These are my generals, the hammer angels," Nyxos introduced proudly, gesturing towards the divine beings.

"It's not just me," Nyxos retorted. "Everyone desires such abilities. If not for your interference, I would have finish my experiments on her. But no matter, I will resume my studies as soon as you're gone."

With a flick of his hand, Nyxos issued a command to the angels and Lorelai. "Kill them."

The hammer angels sprang into action, their powerful wings propelling them forward with formidable speed.

Ren wasted no time in issuing instructions to divide their efforts.

"Evie, Elena, and I will handle Lorelai," Ren directed, his voice firm and authoritative. "Azazel, Iraelyn, you deal with Nyxos. The rest of you, focus on the hammer angels!"

"Understood!" Everyone affirmed, readying their stance for battle.

However, Azazel interjected with a protest.

"I want to help Lorelai regain her consciousness!" Azazel asserted.

Ren's brows furrowed as he regarded Azazel. "You're too high on emotion. You'll only get in the way."

Frustration etched across Azazel's features, his grip tightening on his weapon. Malifira stepped forward, placing a comforting hand on Azazel's shoulder.

"Lord Azazel, Ren speaks wisely," Malifira urged gently. "Let them handle Lorelai for now. Perhaps if you defeat Nyxos, Lorelai will come to her senses."

Azazel clicked his tongue in frustration, but ultimately relented, nodding in agreement. With determination blazing in his eyes, he and Iraelyn squared off against Nyxos.

Desira, Vivi, and Malifira prepared themselves to face the attacks of the hammer angels.

Meanwhile, Ren, Evie, and Elena braced themselves for the daunting task of confronting Lorelai, uncertain if they could bring her back to her senses.

Elena was the first to meet Lorelai's ferocious attack head-on, her own blade clashing against the demonic-angelic hybrid's weapon with a resounding clang.

Typically favoring ranged combat, Elena found herself out of her comfort zone, forced into close-quarters combat due to the support roles of Ren and Evie.

Despite her initial hesitation, Elena knew she had no choice but to confront Lorelai head-on while Ren and Evie back her up with magic.

However, it quickly became apparent that Lorelai possessed a level of skill and strength that far surpassed Elena's own in terms of swords.

Notably, Lorelai's already formidable powers surged to new heights upon embracing her dual nature as both angel and demon. Her strength and abilities now rivaled those of major gods, if not surpassed them entirely.
