Chapter 269 Going Beyond

As Valyr read the string of messages Tryndall had sent to him in response to his question, the bitter smile on his face continued to linger, wondering if he should try and force Tryndall to just tell him his position, disregarding the consequences that may come about in doing such a thing.

Fortunately, after he was finished reading through all of the messages, thoughts of forcing Tryndall to tell him were all removed in his mind, thinking that he should just wait until his friend told him about it out of his own accord. After all, it was out of his own accord that he decided to tell Wells, Arcenne, and Tryndall about the Four Pillars' Inheritance.

"And here I thought I'd be given the pleasure of explaining how important the Four Pillars' Inheritance is. To think I didn't actually have to tell you anything about it." With that in mind, Valyr finally stood up from his seat as he made his way back to the pit. While making his way, he informed the staff to increase the level of the spiders by yet another level.

With expectation in their eyes, wondering if Valyr was going to match the gap he had achieved in the past, or find a way to increase the gap to a higher number, the staff quickly followed the order given to them as Tryndall swiftly sent a response back to Valyr, just as he had gotten back to the pit.

"Hey, it's the thought that counts." Naturally, Tryndall took note of the tone Valyr went with his message, which felt like he was slightly joking, yet at the same time not. Nevertheless, he replied back to his friend's message with a level of sincerity that made Valyr feel his heart slightly warm up. "You know, even though I do know about the whole inheritance thing revolving around you, I really appreciate that you took the time to even tell me that. You're a really good friend, you know that?"

Letting out a bit of laughter at the question Tryndall asked him at the end, Valyr continued to read through the message Tryndall had sent him, only for him to freeze up in place as his eyes widened in surprise, fixated on the last portion of his friend's message.

"In any case, we'll probably see each other much sooner than you'd think."

"See you at Algerie Kingdom, Valyr."

"This fucker…" Muttering out these words, Valyr soon let out a bit more laughter as he replied to Tryndall that the latter would definitely be shocked at his improvement once they meet again. After that, he closed the chat function for good as the flames of ambition and competition burned with far greater intensity than before, thanks to the words Tryndall had sent to him.

"Since I've pretty much taken care of business in this city, it's about time I focus on getting that subclass." Thinking out loud about the list of things he was in the process of completing, the next wave of enemies came to greet him, all of them considerably faster and stronger than the previous wave. In fact, facing off against the Level 27 spiders now seemed a bit difficult to Valyr, even though the gap in their agility was still somewhat substantial.

Nevertheless, with the aid of his strong offensive skills, as well as the temporary buffing skills he had in his arsenal, he was still able to clear the wave of Level 27 spiders without a problem, deciding to ask the staff to increase their level to Level 28, matching the nine level gap he had achieved the first time he came to the Experience Pit.

"Hmm… am I still missing something?" Recalling the requirements needed for him to get the subclass he wanted, he went over through them one by one, inwardly nodding after he came to the conclusion that he had not missed a single requirement. "I have the [Spear Adept] title, [Serpent Spear Combat Style], and [Serpent Steps Movement Style]. Yeah, I think I have all of them."

"Ah." Though, just as he was about to return his train of thought to what was in front of him, a thought surfaced in his mind, reminding him that he had forgotten one more requirement that would allow him to obtain the subclass.

The most important requirement at that.

"I need to upgrade the two Special Skills." With that in mind, he reminded himself that he would first upgrade the two skills to a higher quality, which needed him to obtain a special item in order for him to do so.

"I wonder if Braum and the others could help me find that once we're in the kingdom?" As this thought lingered in his mind, he eventually thought that the five would definitely find the item he needed, considering that they were part of the Imperial Production Guild.

With that, he finally focused all of his attention towards grinding more XP, thinking that after the session would be a good time to max out all of his skills to the highest possible levels they could go, as well as improve his level as much as possible.

And thus, the slaughter began.

After taking care of the wave of Level 28 spiders, Valyr requested the staff to give him a wave of Level 29, prompting everyone in the room to have excitement written all over their faces as they were witnessing history in the making, specifically, history within the Experience Pit's Clossbay City branch.

Pushing the disparity to a 10 level gap between the fighter and the monsters, Valyr quickly found a way to separate the Level 29 spiders before killing them one by one, utilizing the experience he had accrued after fighting spiders from the three previous levels before the current one. Nevertheless, it was after this current wave that Valyr knew that he had finally found his limit on how far he could push himself.

"It's kind of funny to think that my limit is at the same level as Leron." Saying these words to himself, Valyr went ahead and told the staff to raise the level one final time, increasing the gap to 11 levels as Level 30 spiders appeared before him. "Then again, this session would've been even better if I had brought the armor along."

"Sure, I can only triple the amount of experience I gain at most…" At these words, Valyr grinned as he finally went all out.

"But at least I'd be tripling the experience I get from monsters at Level 35, not 30."
