Chapter 815 Four Pillars: Azure Serpent

Chapter 815 Four Pillars: Azure Serpent

Whoosh!

Feeling a great amount of strength course throughout his body, Valyr faintly let out a satisfied sigh.

At this moment, he felt like he had entered a level of strength that would have normally been impossible for him to achieve.

In a way, it reminded him of the times he went all out while fighting against the quadrant leaders, as well as during the fight between him and the Lee twins.

'Though, I had the power of the Shard of Defiance coursing through me that time,' thought Valyr to himself, recalling the ethereal state he was in near the end of the latter fight.

Shaking his head a few times to remove the tangential thoughts in his head, Valyr took in a deep breath before focusing on spreading his aura outward, making sure that the entire Hall of Legends and Myths got a whiff of his aura.

In response, the Hall of Legends and Myths began to faintly rumble, causing the young man to feel a hint of shock.

After all, it wasn't like he had slammed his fists into the hall or anything. Instead, the hall began to rumble by itself.

Fortunately, the young man swiftly found the reason for the rumbling as the weapons near the outer edges of the hall began to glow.

Swoosh!

Giving off lights of various colors and intensities, a few strands of those lights began to make their way towards Valyr, telling him that the strength and path he had at the moment were greatly suit the path that their owners had.

Seeing how many of the weapons at the outer edges glowed in response to his aura, Valyr felt a bit of pride from the path he had trekked so far, slightly grinning as he moved his attention towards the weapons that were deeper into the hall.

'The closer the weapon is to the center, the higher the chances of me inheriting a path that would allow me to become a Myth,' inwardly muttered Valyr to himself, briefly glancing at the weapon that stood at the very center.

In terms of how simple the weapon at the center was to wield, it seemed as if it was a weapon made for a race that were a few heads taller than normal humans.

Nevertheless, the craftsmanship and effort put into the weapon was top-tier, with almost every nook and cranny making up the weapon itself covered in grooves and runes that seemed to channel the user's mana into specific areas.

"A slight shame that it's a scythe," said Valyr, imagining in his mind the person that wielded the weapon to be a force of destruction in the battlefield.

After daydreaming for a bit as to what kind of person wielded such an unwieldy scythe, Valyr returned his attention to the other weapons around the hall, continuing to push his aura out to the fullest.

Once again, a great number of the weapons in the hall responded to his aura, glowing as they sent out strands that told him he was a great fit for the paths their owners have taken.

With that, he began to walk around for a bit to get a look at the weapons within the hall in greater detail.

Walking through swords that were used for legendary feats to unconventional weapons that were used to achieve the impossible, Valyr soon found himself standing in front of a staff that radiated a seemingly odd aura.

On one hand, it beckoned him to come closer.

And on the other, it told him to stay away.

Curious, Valyr focused his aura towards the staff, allowing him to get another response from the staff while getting a better look at the same time.

Compared to the other weapons near the center, the staff looked quite ordinary, looking as if it was a piece of wood that had just been randomly picked up in a forest.

However, if he were to look beneath its somewhat dark exterior, he noticed a faint sheen of blue shimmering across its surface, with grooves and runes far more exquisite than the one on the scythe covering the weapon from head to toe.

After reluctantly receiving a few more strands of light from the staff after focusing his aura on it, the young man widened in surprise as he received the name of the weapon.

"The Azure Serpent Staff..." muttered Valyr, only for his train of thought to stop as Vaughn stood beside him.

"To be honest, the very moment you caught this staff's attention, I had a strong feeling you'd take notice of it," said Vaughn as he looked at the young man with a shrug.

Hearing those words, Valyr went silent for a bit as he scratched the back of his head.

"Is... is it related to what I think it is?" asked the young man after some thought.

In response, Vaughn merely nodded, telling Valyr more or less everything he needed to know.

"To give you a bit more information, the owner of this staff wasn't actually human," the man said soon after, causing the young man to raise his eyebrow in slight curiosity. "To be more exact, they were a beast turned human after going through atavism."

At those words, Valyr's eyes gradually widened, inferring something between the words Vaughn spoke.

And from the man's gaze at him, it was as if he was telling him that his inference was most likely to be correct.

With that, Valyr had made up his mind, deciding to ignore the fact that the original owner had chosen a path that heavily leaned towards magic.

Touching the staff's surface, the young man eventually felt a pull on his conscious, sending him to another plane as Vaughn watched him from the side.

With a hint of trepidation, he watched the world around him turn into darkness.

For this might be the key he was looking for to push his subclass to the next tier.
