Chapter 820 Four Pillars: Leaving the Shadow Plane
Seeing the rift to Veldanyr open up beside the apparition, Valyr's eyes widened in surprise as he wondered whether the apparition would let Sellifer go through it that quickly.
Though, unsurprisingly enough, the apparition used the rift to Veldanyr as an allure for the Sellifer in front of it to work harder, telling her that she needed to master the basics of his path first before being able to step foot into the rift.
At those words, Sellifer asked the apparition where her companions went, to which the apparition that they had been sent out of the temple.
With that, she then asked if she could be sent out of the temple as well. The source of this content nov(el)bi((n))
Surprisingly, the apparition replied that there would be no problem in her doing so.
However, it also told her that she would lose all chances at claiming an opportunity that was hard to come by.
In fact, it even emphasized that it was an opportunity that she would only get once in a lifetime, taking note of her affinity with mana.
Hearing that, Sellifer went silent for a bit as the gears in her mind turned, staring at the rift that led to a world containing the other type of energy she seemed to be in tune with.
In the end, with gritted teeth, she remained in the place, deciding to take on the teachings of the human that made the inheritance whether she wanted to or not.
Watching the Sellifer below and the apparition finally get to learning, the woman beside Valyr began to speak.
"Unlike the time where going against my parents made me think that I had made a huge mistake, accepting this inheritance made me feel like I had struck gold." "To be honest, I feel like I would have only realized what I needed to do near the end of my life if I hadn't accepted it."
With those words resounding within the young man's mind, Valyr watched as Sellifer gradually went through the fundamentals of mana.
As someone who had found general energy control a type of second nature thanks to Greater Beyond gamifying it in his past life, it only dawned on the young man that the act of controlling energy should've been harder for him.
The purification process.
Surprisingly, the stages of purification for mana was more or less similar to the stages his Shadow Energy went through, starting off as impure energy before turning into its pure version.
Then, it underwent the three stages of Cleansing, only to be followed up by the three stages of Metamorphosis after that.
While Valyr was wondering whether he could apply the concept to his mana the same way he did to his Shadow Energy somewhere down the line, the apparition gave Sellifer a goal that made it promise it would allow her to enter through the rift if she achieved it.
The 1st Cleansing stage.
As long as she purified her mana to the stage of 1st Cleansing, the apparition would allow her to go through the rift.
And so, she gave it her all.
Through multiple attempts of trial and error, as well as a few words of advice from the apparition here and there, Sellifer made gradual but steady progress in purifying her mana.
Though, unlike her learning the foundations of mana control, it took relatively less time for her to achieve great progress in that regard, working off the foundations she had already built.
Within two weeks, she had successfully transformed the mana circulating in her body to its pure version.
Then, within the span of a couple of months, she had pushed her mana one step further, allowing it to ascend to the stage of 1st Cleansing.
Releasing this new and improved version of mana, Sellifer let out an awe of slight disbelief as she noticed that her mana had turned somewhat bluish-white because of it.
However, that disbelief did not last for long.
After all, she had now met the requirements necessary to go through the rift.
