Chapter 909 Ephemeral Tools
Unexpectedly, it only took half an hour on the Blacksmith Guild's end for everything to be sorted out.
Obtaining a message from one of the staff members that a workshop had been opened for Valyr, Julian briefly stopped what he was doing before looking at the young man that had been loitering in his place all this time.
"Just received a message that one of the workshops is available for you to use," said the man as he decided to chuck in a few materials into his furnace. "It's a workshop around the start of the east wing. One of the staff members would be there waiting for you."
"Got it." Nodding in response, Valyr stood up from where he was watching as he prepared himself to head to that place.
"Oh, wait. Before you go." Though, just as he was about to leave the man to his own devices, Julian hurriedly stopped him.
Raising his eyebrow in curiosity as he looked at him, Valyr watched as the man brought up a screen before tapping a few buttons on it for a bit.
Ding!
Hearing the ever-familiar chime resound in his mind, Valyr had an idea of what Julian was doing, bringing up both his notification screen and its corresponding description before him.

"But for some reason, the effects of the skills are similar to what they were before the class change," muttered Valyr to himself as he went through them, briefly wondering if it had something to do with the fact that his main class was now Ancient grade.
Looking through his skills a bit more, Valyr noticed that one of his forging skills had been removed.
Specifically, the skill that was removed was [True Prodigious Equipment Resonance], which had no counterpart for The First Blacksmith class.
"Well, it's not like I was making full use of the passive anyway," thought Valyr to himself out loud at that realization.
Fortunately, while the skill was removed, it was replaced with a skill that seemed to have an interesting effect.
"System, identify [Ephemeral Tools of the First Blacksmith]"

[Ephemeral Tools of the First Blacksmith] (Lv. 1/10)
Rarity: Common+
Having created the path of blacksmithing for many others to follow, it could be said that the First Blacksmith has gone through great experimentation to consolidate the path that others tread.
Through these experimentations, it has figured out a myriad of ways to go through the forging process, all of them arriving at the same conclusion.
However, if there's one thing that remains consistent, it would be the tools the First Blacksmith uses, the lifeblood that allows a blacksmith to do what they do best.
Because of that, the First Blacksmith has devised a skill to make sure the same tools could be used throughout the forging process, giving one the ability to forge even in situations where one could not bring their tools along with them.
This skill allows the user to conjure forging tools out of pure energy. Depending on the energy the user uses, the forging tools conjured would have varying properties that might bring out unique effects during the process.
This skill also allows the user to conjure forging tools based on tools that have been forged by the user in the past. As these items are made out of pure energy, their properties are considerably inferior than the original version.
The user can choose to infuse more energy into these conjured tools, allowing their original properties to be enhanced even further.
The tools conjured through the skill can only be used by the user or any of the user's summons, tamed beings, or similar items.
Cost to conjure: 1,000 MP (tool has 25% of the properties of an average Uncommon+ grade tool)
Cost to mimic: 5,000 MP (tool receives 25% of the properties of the original tool)
Cost to enhance properties: 2,500 MP per additional percent
Maintenance cost: 10 MP per minute, 5 additional MP per minute per additional percent
Maximum number of conjured tools: 1

"I'll have to experiment with this while forging." By the time he was done reading through the skill's description, Valyr thoroughly understood what the skill was capable of, making him eager to use it in a practical situation.
Thankfully, just as he was finished reading, one of the guild's staff members had delivered all of the materials he'd requested just earlier.
"Well then." Looking at the large pile of materials he would be working with, a grin soon adorned Valyr's face.
"Let's get started."
