Chapter 915 Kin of the Forsaken Race

915 Kin of the Forsaken Race

Ding!

[You have completed the quest: Forging Weapons for War. Remaining time: 1 day, 15 hours, 43 minutes, 23 seconds.]

[You have received 30,000 Technology Points as a reward.]

[You have received 30,000 merit points (Blacksmith Guild) as a reward.]

[You currently own 35,000 merit points, which allows you to be promoted to the position of [Rank 3 — Legacy Member].] [However, as your current position within the Blacksmith Guild is [Rank 3 — Honorary Lesser Elder], this promotion has not been applied.]

[Your affinity with Julian has increased by 100 points. Current relationship: Acquaintance.]

[Your reputation in the Blacksmith Guild has increased by 50 points. Current reputation: Barely known through hearsay.]

[Your reputation in Algerie Kingdom has increased by 10 points. Current reputation: Baseless positive rumors.]

Obtaining a series of notifications the very moment he tossed the final weapon he forged for the quota into the pile, a satisfied smile crept up Valyr's lips as he immediately dispelled all of the extra pairs of arms around him.

Placing the Hammer of Beginnings back into his spatial bracelet, he then called for a staff member to bring the weapons he forged to Julian, letting out a slight yawn in the process.

"I suppose I've found my current limit." Finally feeling a hint of sleepiness wash over him, the smile on his face turned wry as he thought about heading back to the inn.

With that, he sent a message to Julian of his plans, informing the man that he had just completed the quota given to him.

In response, Julian told him that the guild was more than willing to enlist his help in completing the quota once more, though he mentioned that he should prioritize rest first.

"I've had a couple of the staff members keep an eye on you for the past couple of days," said Julian through his message. "To think you haven't gotten any proper rest... you should really rest now that you're done with it."

Smiling as if he'd been caught red-handed, Valyr eventually made his way to the Blacksmith Guild's entrance after assuring Julian that he was going to get some proper rest.

Making his way back to the inn he and the other two stayed in, the young man fought against the lethargy he was feeling as he took a look at his chat function.

Seeing that Wells had not responded to the messages he sent a couple of days ago, Valyr did not bother sending a series of messages for updates.

'I did give him a heads-up that I'd be busy for the next few days,' thought the young man, deciding to stop by an eatery before returning to the inn. 'It only makes sense that he and Edward would be busy as well.'

Keeping in mind that he'd immediately head to bed to get some rest, Valyr ordered a light meal this time around, taking delight in the scenery the Algerie Kingdom offered him at daytime.

Eventually, Valyr was able to make his way back to the inn, deciding to take a quick shower to remove the dirt and grime he'd accrued on his body from the Blacksmith Guild the past few days.

Once he had changed into a fresh set of clothes, only then did he head to his own part of the room before laying down, immediately falling into a deep sleep within a matter of minutes.

...

[Your Planetary Reputation (Veldanyr) has increased by 100 points. Current reputation: Baseless positive rumors.]

As he went through the rewards, Valyr noticed that most of them were based on reputation and affinity, things whose benefits weren't that obvious in comparison to other rewards.

"Then again, I've already accepted the quest after seeing those rewards," said Valyr to himself. "The fact that the quest increased the reward for affinity and reputation by a significant amount already says a lot."

"From another perspective, I could even say that meeting Vaughn was a reward in itself."

At some point, the young man reached the end of the list of rewards he gained from the quest.

Expecting the final reward to be something along the lines of reputation or affinity once more, Valyr raised his eyebrow in curiosity after seeing that it was neither of those.

Instead, it was a pair of titles.

Ding!

[Due to your actions, you have obtained the title 'Kin of the Forsaken Race (Veldanyr)'.]

[Due to your actions, you have obtained the title 'Reconnecting the Past to the Present (Veldanyr)'.]

"Huh."

Looking at the titles he obtained from Ryvrthe's quest, Valyr went silent for a bit as a few thoughts ran through his mind.

"To be honest, I thought the increased affinity and reputation was the additional reward I got from completing the quest," said the young man to himself, recalling how the quest mentioned that he could obtain extra rewards depending on his performance.

"To think it would also give me two titles... is it because I allowed Ryvrthe to meet with Vaughn?" As this thought came to mind, Valyr let out a faint chuckle, bringing up the descriptions of the titles before him soon after.

Ding! Ding!

Bringing up the description of [Kin of the Forsaken Race (Veldanyr)] before him, Valyr immediately noticed that the title was quite similar to another title he'd obtained from the past.

"[Astarto's Beacon of Hope]..." muttered the young man to himself, continuing to read through the title's description before closing its corresponding screen.

In short, the effects of [Kin of the Forsaken Race (Veldanyr)] more or less matched the name of the title itself.

With him now having the title, any being from the Forsaken Race would now look at him at a positive light. At the same time, the title made it more difficult for the Forsaken Race to doubt his words and actions, which was something Valyr deemed as useful if he were to apply it in certain situations.

Aside from that, the title offered him a few other perks that only applied to things related to the Forsaken Race, such as quests offering more rewards and shops asking for less money.

Committing the effects of the first title to memory, Valyr then moved onto the second title, only to find out that it was vastly different from the first one.
