Chapter 921 A Sudden Visit

921 A Sudden Visit

Algerie Kingdom, Spearman Guild.

"Alright. Let's stop our training here."

As those words came out of Noel's mouth, over a hundred people wielding spears let out a sigh of relief, immediately slumping to the ground as they got their rest.

Looking at their tired expressions, a faint smile gradually crept up Noel's lips as he affixed his spear to his back.

'It won't be long till their gaze carries a ferocious glint in combat,' thought the old man to himself, nodding in satisfaction at the progress the new batch of recruits were making.

Giving the recruits more time to rest than usual, Noel sat at a nearby chair and leaned on it, feeling a wave of relief wash over his back.

Though, not long after, the man soon sat straight up, his expression a slight frown as he brought up a screen before him.

Ding!

Looking through the screen, the frown on the old man's face deepened, his attention focused on a certain person's name.

"Valyr..." muttered Noel to himself, immediately taking notice that the young man had not responded to his latest set of messages yet.

Ever since he'd received news that Valyr had finally left the inheritance, Noel felt a bit of joy towards the young man, certain that the young man had benefited a lot from it.

However, that joy turned into disbelief once he read from one of Julian's messages that the young man had gained access to a peculiar energy called Azure Energy.

'Whether it's a coincidence or not, I have to check if it's connected to that person,' thought Noel as the memory came to mind, being reminded of a time early on in his journey to becoming a prominent figure when it came to Shadow Energy.

Recalling how he fervently begged in front of that divine being, only for the being to eventually take pity on him, Noel was incredibly curious as to whether or not Valyr had made contact with that person as well.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Who could that be?" Valyr looked at the door in slight confusion, certain that he had not made any promises with other people to meet at his place these past few days.

Of course, the thought of Wells and Edward returning had also crossed his mind, prompting him to take a look at his chat function.

Though he had gotten an update from Wells that they had completed their task and were on their way back from orc territory, the man did not mention anything about them returning to Algerie this soon.

Thus, with slight trepidation, the young man mustered up the courage to open the door, only to be greeted by a face that he planned on seeing later in the day.

"Long time no see, Valyr." Before the young man opened the door, Noel initially sported a slight frown.

However, once he looked at Valyr directly in the eyes, that frown immediately turned into a faint smile, making the man seem like a caring old man.

"How have you been?" asked Noel, causing Valyr to look back at the former with a slightly apologetic smile.

"I've been doing well, Elder Noel," replied the young man, immediately apologizing for not being able to come to the Spearman Guild these past few days. "I was planning to head to the Spearman Guild later, actually."

"Oh, is that so?" At this point, Noel was all smiles, giving the young man a slightly unnerving feeling. "I presume you were gonna get some breakfast before heading to the guild, no?"

Hearing that, Valyr could only nod, wondering whether the old man before him was truly the Noel he knew.

"Come with me, then." Noel chuckled in response, turning around as he beckoned Valyr to follow him. "I haven't eaten any breakfast myself, so I'll treat you to some breakfast before we head to the guild."

Briefly scratching the back of his head, Valyr inwardly let out a sigh, nodding as he and Noel eventually left the inn.
