Chapter 943: Welcome to the Void
"He's making far more progress than I thought."
Watching Valyr go through the process of ascending his Azure Energy to the Echo level, a faint smile appeared on Sellifer's face as she used her powers as a Divine level to get a better glimpse at what was going on.
From the braiding of Shadow Energy and mana, to the infusion of the two Intents that made his Azure Energy form in the first place, the woman felt that the young man had reached a high level of proficiency with it.
'Then again, it's what you would expect from a Zeihardt,' inwardly muttered the woman as she continued to watch, chuckling at her own joke.
Nevertheless, seeing how methodical the young man was in forming his Azure Energy within his inner self, Sellifer felt that it wouldn't be long till Valyr was successful in taking that next step.
"Er..."
Though, just as she was about to engross herself in watching Valyr go through the process once more, a voice she was not expecting to hear echoed from beside her.
"Didn't I tell you to give us some space?" Looking at the being that spoke, a slight frown appeared on Sellifer's face, continuing to maintain a bit of focus on what Valyr was doing while doing so.
Hearing those words, the being bitterly smiled. "It's already been a bit over two days since you requested me to do so, Divine One."
"And what about it?" Sellifer raised her eyebrow in response, her expression now that of slight anger. "You've already waited for decades, Noel. What's wrong with waiting for just a bit longer?"
"That's not what I meant, Divine One." Noel shook his head, pointing at the cross-legged Valyr. "I'm worried about him."
"The world of the Void is coming soon."
"Wait... is it that time already?" At those words, the frown on Sellifer's face swiftly disappeared, being replaced with slight shock.
"I'm afraid so." Noel bitterly smiled once more. "You and I would have no issue staying in the world of the Void, much less the world of the Abyss."
"However, Valyr here has not yet grasped the concept of the Void or the Abyss yet," the old man continued. "Who knows what might happen to him if he were to stay here."
Hearing that, Sellifer frowned once more, this time thinking about Valyr's safety.
Though, after a bit of contemplation, the frown on her face disappeared, recalling what she'd sensed from the young man after not seeing each other for quite some time.
'Now that I think about it, he's already come into contact with the Shadowsource,' thought Sellifer to herself as she recalled the feeling. 'Considering the Serpent Maiden's personality, she's undoubtedly given him more than just that.'
'Well... I guess it wouldn't be far-fetched for me to think that he'd remain unscathed while in the world of the Void.'
As the thought came to mind, Sellifer's worries gradually died down, believing and trusting in what the Serpent Maiden had given the young man before them.
Unfortunately, another problem popped up in response to that, causing her to briefly glance at Noel.
'But how would I break that news to Noel here? Has he even met the Serpent Maiden before? Has he even come into contact with the Shadowsource?'
Coincidentally, just as the gears in her mind began to frantically turn in the midst of trying to come up with a solution...
Whoosh!
Both Sellifer and Noel felt a majestic aura radiate from the young man all of a sudden, causing the two of them to look each other for a bit in disbelief.
Then, focusing their gaze onto the young man, both of them used all of the means in their disposal to find out what was going on, with Sellifer immediately being left at a complete loss for words with her discovery.
'You could actually transform Azure Energy into something like this?'
"I was successful in ascending its quality," said the young man in response, only to wryly smile not long after. "Though, I don't think this could be considered the Echo level." "Well, we'll find out if you release a bit of your Azure Energy," replied Sellifer, raising her eyebrow as she released a bit of her own Azure Energy in response.
Whoosh!
Conjuring a wisp of Azure Energy on top of her palm, Sellifer swiftly adjusted its power to the Echo level, transforming it into a haze that periodically pulsated the feeling of pure Azure
Energy.
Looking at the haze, the young man took in a deep breath before doing the same thing,
releasing a bit of his own Azure Energy on his palm.
Swoosh!
However, unlike Sellifer's Azure Energy, Valyr's Azure Energy appeared not as a haze, but
instead as a cloud of small pearls.
Nevertheless, the pulsating aspect of the Echo level did not disappear, instead taking on a
different form as the pearls let out a glow that radiated the feeling of pure Azure Energy from
time to time.
"...Even though I've already seen it before, the quality your Azure Energy has reached still astounds me," said Sellifer after some time, which took the young man slightly aback.
In response, she explained that the two of them were watching his ascension process all this time in great disbelief, unsure by the end of it as to whether his Azure Energy could still be considered Azure Energy.
Slightly surprised by her confession, Valyr went ahead and retracted his Azure Energy as he
asked her if she knew anything about it.
Hearing those words, Sellifer shook her head, retracting her own Azure Energy in the
meantime.
"All I can tell from it is that it's still Azure Energy in essence. However, everything else aside
from that is far different from the Azure Energy I had you form," said the woman. "Of course, I mean it in a good way. I feel like it has far greater potential than my own Azure Energy." "The system probably said something about it being a better variant of Azure Energy, no?" asked Sellifer after that, to which Valyr faintly nodded in response. Smiling at the young man's action, Sellifer immediately swapped to a serious expression as she looked at Valyr with a hint of concern. "In any case, let's save that conversation for later."
"Why?" Hearing those words, Valyr raised his eyebrow in slight confusion.
Though, before Sellifer could respond...
Whoosh!
Their immediate vicinity instantly turned pitch-black.
"Well... this is why," said Sellifer after a bit of silence, conjuring a light fixture with the help
of her Azure Energy.
Letting out a slightly bitter chuckle at the young man's confusion, she then continued.
"It would have been better if you were introduced to this place in a less sudden way..." "But welcome to the Shadow Plane's Void World, Valyr."
