Chapter 950: Proving One's Strength (1)
"Wha-?!"
Focusing his attention on the beam that formed from the arquebus due to skill activation, Valyr immediately got the feeling that he'd be able to deal a heavy amount of damage to the Void Rabbit.
Though he had a feeling it wouldn't be enough to kill it in one shot, he was still confident that the damage he dealt would significantly injure the rabbit, allowing him to take care of it with his skills.
After all, though his arquebus boasted a high base Attack stat, as well as the fraudulent skill named [Extended Charge], the damage multiplier of its true offensive skill was somewhat lacking behind when compared to his other skills.
Because of that, the young man was completely left at a loss for words when he looked at the aftermath of his shot, witnessing how the Void Rabbit was utterly decimated by his shot.
Surely certain that he wouldn't be able to deal that much damage to it, he looked around in confusion, his eyes eventually locking on to the digit that appeared above where it once was. However, once he saw the dark seven-digit number that threatened to meld with the darkness, Valyr was forced to reevaluate his combat prowess as he looked at his hands, thinking to himself.
'Is this the true extent of my capabilities?'
Even if he were to exclude the fact that he lucked out and landed a Fatal Hit on the Void Rabbit, the damage he would have dealt to it without it was still more than enough to guarantee the Void Rabbit's death.
"Over 1.5 million points of damage..." murmured Valyr to himself, committing the number to memory as he shifted his gaze to Sellifer.
Unsurprisingly, just like him, Sellifer was left speechless after seeing the Void Rabbit go down in one hit.
With her eyes still fixated on where the rabbit once was, she also noticed the dark seven-digit number that began to hover its remains, the gears in her mind madly turning as she assessed whether or not Valyr had killed the rabbit through sheer luck.
The result?
Seeing the young man's reply, the woman briefly adorned a bitter smile. "To think your main class is a production class... yet you're still able to achieve feats like these."
"Once again, I didn't expect the attack to deal so much damage to the Void Rabbit," replied Valyr after that, relieving the tension that was beginning to cover the conversation. "Plus, I'm a Zeihardt, remember?"
Sellifer could only laugh at the young man's quip. "Yes, you are a Zeihardt. Should've remembered that rather than be shocked over your prowess."
"In any case, although you've proven you have what it takes to fight against a Void Rabbit, there's still a small part of me that's skeptical as to whether you really have what it takes to fight true Myth-level beings," she continued.
"Don't get me wrong," said Sellifer after that. "The fact that you have something like that to surmount the gap is incredibly impressive."
"However, I'm sure you know that every second counts when up against a Myth-level being, especially at your current level." At these words, Sellifer could not help but inwardly laugh at the absurdity of her statement.
"What if the first shot wasn't enough to kill it? Do you have ways to stall for time? Or do you have the necessary skills to fight against it without relying on the arquebus?"
"In other words...?" asked Valyr after that, prompting Sellifer to glare at him for a bit before indulging in his question.
"I want to see you fight against a Void Rabbit without relying on the arquebus," replied the woman. "Just once."
"I could do that." Valyr nodded at that, showing the confidence he'd accrued now that he successfully defeated a true Myth-level being.
Though, not long after, his expression turned into a wry smile. "There's only one problem."
"And that would be?" Sellifer raised her eyebrow at the young man's words, only for her eyes to slightly widen in surprise soon after as Valyr retrieved the spear from his back.
Whoosh!
