Chapter 960: Return of the Duo
Continuing to keep an eye on the Void Rabbit after pulling the trigger on his arquebus, it was only when the system had given him confirmation through its notification did Valyr finally let out a sigh of relief.
"It's over," murmured the young man to himself, truly feeling as if the heavy weight that had been put on his shoulders were finally removed.
"It's over," parroted Sellifer not long after, briefly glancing at the Void Rabbit that fell under Valyr's final shot before focusing her attention on the cage of Azure Energy she conjured.
Feeling that the last few vestiges of vitality had finally parted from the Void Rabbit, it was only then did she dismantle the cage, prompting her to look at Valyr with an apologetic smile. "I still feel bad for not giving you a heads-up," said the woman, which made Valyr look back at her in response. "After all, you would've probably had no problems dodging its attacks if you knew the Void Rabbit had a second life of sorts."
At those words, Valyr faintly shook his head as he adorned an apologetic smile on his own. "That may be true, but ultimately, it's because I let my guard down that the Void Rabbit was able to land that deadly strike on me."
Giving Sellifer a look of gratitude as he knew what she did, the young man soon let out a long exhale. "If I remained vigilant... I probably wouldn't have ended up in this miserable state." Though Valyr had recovered his health and mana thanks to the potions in his spatial bracelet, as well as some of his skills, the young man still looked like a mess externally.
From the various wounds accumulated on his body from the strikes, to the near-broken state of his trusty True Wyvern Armor, it wouldn't be far-fetched for one to think that the young man had won his fight by a hanging thread.
Even though the truth was that Valyr had an overwhelming advantage against the Void Rabbit, especially after he'd enlisted the help of his skills.
With the two remaining silent for a short while after that, Valyr eventually decided to some quick repairs on his armor before proceeding on their next fight against another Void Beast.
Whoosh!
Bringing out the tools he'd used to create a temporary workshop back in the inheritance, it did not take long for the young man to get into his element, making use of what he had in his spatial bracelet to get his armor into a usable state.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Watching how quickly Valyr entered into a state of deep concentration, a faint look of interest appeared on Sellifer's face as she watched the young man work on his armor.
Unsurprisingly, it did not take long for her to realize that Valyr was telling the truth when he told her his main class was a production class, sensing the high level of mastery the young man had reached in his craft.
"Of course, if you decide on fighting them purely with your skills, I won't stop you," she continued. "But do keep in mind to always be vigilant, lest you want a repeat of what happened just then."
Hearing those words, Valyr merely chuckled in response.
Nevertheless, he still kept her words in mind, knowing that the woman was truly looking out
for.
With that, the two eventually found their next opponent, continuing to roam the Void World after that for two more days straight.
...
"Phew."
Slowly opening his eyes, Noel let out a turbid breath as he felt the mana circulating inside him become more invigorated.
"I finally reached the stage of 2nd Cleansing." Saying those words, the old man looked at the blue-haired woman before him, faintly sensing the peculiar energy from her that he would eventually make his own.
Taking in a deep breath as he prepared himself to ascend his mana to the stage of 3rd Cleansing, Noel stopped in his tracks as he felt a couple of familiar auras move closer to where
he was.
Recognizing the two that were emitting these auras, the old man decided to shelf his attempt for the meantime, standing up as he looked in the direction of the two with a smile.
Though once the two had finally come into full view of the old man's vision, Noel was
immediately left at a loss for words.
"...What happened to you two?"
