Chapter 974: Under A Week
"You've become stronger again."
After giving Julian a heads-up that he was heading to the Blacksmith Guild to fulfill another quota, the young man did not take long to arrive at the place, immediately heading straight to the man's workshop after that.
"What have you been doing for the past couple days you were gone for you to grow so much?" asked Julian, placing his hammer to the side for the meantime as he looked at Valyr from head to toe.
"It's like a different person is standing in front of me every few days."
"I made a short trip to the Spearman Guild," said Valyr in response after letting out a bit of laughter. "I met up with Elder Noel."CHeCk for new stories on no/v/el/bin(.)c0m
"Noel, huh..." Surprisingly, the mention of the old man was more than enough for Julian to understand what was going on, faintly nodding after becoming silent for a minute. "Well, if it involves him, then I guess it shouldn't be surprising."
"Anyways, you're here to accept another quota?" As Julian asked Valyr this question, the latter replied with a faint nod, slightly smiling as Julian brought up his screen.
"You could double the number of weapons I need to make if you want," said Valyr while the man was interacting with his screen, causing the latter to briefly pause what he was doing as he looked back at the young man.
"Are you sure?" Julian asked Valyr, his eyebrow raised in both curiosity and slight doubt. "I know you're able to forge 50 weapons in just a few days, but forgoing sleep for double that time is..."
"It's fine," assured Valyr, giving the middle-aged man a slight chuckle. "I'm confident enough that I'd be able to forge that many weapons without sleep."
"If you really feel bad for me, then you could just extend the deadline to what it was before. 10 days, if I remember correctly?"
"It's not that the branches are ill-equipped or lacking in manpower, it's just that more people are enlisting themselves to the frontlines than expected," continued the man as he let out a low sigh.
"Of course, that's a good thing, but it's becoming more and more difficult to keep up with the demand sometimes."
"I see." Listening to Julian's words, Valyr went silent for a bit before deciding to hint to Julian the cache of weapons that were still in the inheritance. "So, does that mean you'd accept weapons not forged from the Blacksmith Guild?"
"If it's only one or two, or if one does it to shirk away from the responsibility of completing the quota, then probably not." Julian thought over the question for a bit before eventually
nodding.
"But if it's more than enough to help out in the war efforts, then I don't see why not." "Alright." Though Valyr still had another topic in mind he had to ask Julian, the young man felt that he'd already taken more than enough of Julian's time.
With that, Valyr eventually left the man's workshop, telling the man before leaving that he had something to say to him once he was done with the quota.
After that, he made his way to the workshop he'd occupied for all of his forging sessions, taking in a deep breath to prepare himself for the monotonous task he was about to embark
on.
Taking out the Hammer of Beginnings from his spatial bracelet, Valyr soon got to work, making use of all the skills in his arsenal to go through the increased weapon quota he'd intentionally given himself.
Surprisingly, the amount of time it took Valyr to complete that quota...
Was just under six days.
