Chapter 1040: One Man's Aftereffects
Whoosh!
Feeling the Mystic Energy surrounding him take on a different aura after Marcus was done speaking, Valyr stayed in place as he watched the cocoon of energy around him start moving on its own.
Extending tendrils towards his body, the young man had a pained expression on his face as these tendrils began to burrow under his skin, only for it to turn into that relief as Mystic Energy began to course them.
Ding!
Feeling his strength undergo rapid improvement thanks to the direct infusion of Mystic Energy, Valyr allowed himself to bask in the sensation, a relieved smile appearing on his face as series of notifications began to resound in his mind.
Yet, he remained oblivious to all of it, instead deciding to sink his senses deeper into the pleasure the current situation was giving him.
"What...?"
On the other hand, Marcus' mouth went agape a while after the process to turn Valyr into the Mystic Plane's Guardian began, noticing that most of, if not the entirety of the Mystic Plane was starting to undergo a massive change.
Expanding his senses to encompass the entire plane, the man took note that the landmass making up the plane began to swiftly expand in all directions as various flora and fauna popped up on the new patches of land the moment they appeared.
Aside from that, the density of Mystic Energy underwent a drastic increase, its amount increasing to around three times what it was before, causing everything around the trio to become far more iridescent than it was before.
However, the most obvious change appeared in Marcus itself, with his strength undergoing a massive increase the moment the changes throughout the Mystic Plane began to occur.
Completely left at a loss for words as to what was going on, Marcus closed his eyes for a bit as he took a second look at the entire situation, only for the gears to start turning in his mind as The looked at Mystia.
"Tell me, Mystia. Were you expecting something like this to happen when you decided to make the guy the Mystic Plane's Guardian?"Fôllôw new stories at novelhall.com
Just as the two began to draft up plans for the new future of the Mystic Plane, the cocoon of Mystic Energy surrounding Valyr had finally run out of juice, freeing the young man as he smiled at the two in front of him.
However, that smile immediately turned into a look of curiosity as he began to take note of the changes that occurred throughout their surroundings whilst he was wrapped in a cocoon
of Mystic Energy.
"What happened?" asked the young man as he looked at the two, only for him to tilt his head in slight confusion as his gaze remained affixed towards Marcus.
As far as he knew, Marcus' strength wasn't as overwhelming as it currently was.
From what he could recall, Marcus showed off a level of strength that was only slightly higher than Mystia, which he considered to be around the early Myth-level after a bit of contemplation.
On the other hand, the strength Marcus was currently showing in front of him far surpassed the early Myth-level, instead causing him to recall Vaughn's strongest state during the early days of Veldanyr before he was forcefully extricated by the planet due to his class rank. "Well... you happened," said Marcus with a slight chuckle, which unsurprisingly caused the young man to look back at him with even greater confusion.
With that, Mystia took it upon herself to clarify the current situation to the young man. "What he means by that is that... you caused all of the changes you see throughout the Mystic Plane to happen... including the change to Marcus' strength."
Unfortunately, her explanation was met with far greater confusion than that, with Valyr now looking at both of them in a mix of confusion and disbelief.
"Me? I did all of that? I don't think I have the ability nor the strength to do all of that,
though?"
Hearing those words, Marcus and Mystia looked at each other for a bit before nodding, both
of them coming to a conclusion.
It was time for them to give Valyr a brief rundown of the Mystic Plane's history.
