1162 Challenging the Heavens (5)
"Ah, right." Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Just as Valyr responded to his words of advice, a thought surfaced in Scho'doxa's mind all of a sudden, causing him to recall something he'd overlooked during the past couple of rounds.
Taking out a couple of bottles that contained items Valyr was greatly interested in, the man flashed an apologetic smile as he gave out a wry chuckle. "Almost forgot to give you your rewards."
At those words, Valyr let out a chuckle of his own. "And here I thought I'd have to remind you sooner or later."
"It might have definitely come to that point if we continued on with the next fight," replied Scho'doxa as his apologetic smile now contained a hint of self-ridicule. "Then again, your fight against the orc kind of made me put the thought of your rewards to the back of my head."
With the man giving him the rewards he would've gotten from the two fights that passed, Valyr took out the other bottle of shards he had and tossed it back to Scho'doxa.
"Now, all that's left is for me to get another set of the bottles from the third and fifth round," said the young man as he put the bottles into his spatial bracelet.
"I'm guessing you'll give both if I were to win the next fight?"
"You would've called me stingy if I didn't." Scho'doxa let out a bit of laughter as he nodded in agreement. "But yeah. Being able to fight against a peak Rank 6 Myth at your level is no simple feat."
After saying those words, the man asked Valyr if he wanted to proceed with the next fight, considering how the latter had not really expended that much energy during his fight against the half-elf.
In response, the young man gave him a wry smile, telling him that he needed some time to recover the unique energy he used to keep the half-elf in response.
Giving Scho'doxa a brief explanation on how he used the unique energy during the fight just now, Valyr watched as the man's eyes widened in slight surprise.
"At this point, I'm curious as to how much of your entire skill set have you shown throughout the fights so far," murmured Scho'doxa, deciding to give Valyr the time and space he needed to recuperate before the next fight.
Though, just as he was about to head to another part of the arena to do so, another thought popped up in the man's mind all of a sudden.
With that, Scho'doxa stopped in his tracks as he looked at Valyr once more.
"...Now that I think about it, I've also yet to upgrade your title to the final tier."
Saying those words, the man gave the young man a quick explanation on what requirements one must meet in order to obtain the title corresponding to the completion of the entire tournament.
Hearing that all he needed to do to get it was become the victor of the tournament he participated in, it went without saying that Valyr urged Scho'doxa to give him the rightful title he deserved, causing the latter to wryly smile as he nodded in response.
Getting the feeling that there was more to the title than it seemed after reading through it a couple of times, he then asked Scho'doxa if there was an even better version of the title he currently had.
Surprisingly, the man let out a bit of laughter in response, telling him that he'd obtain the answer to his question as long as he defeated his final opponent.
And so, Valyr prepared.
...
"Are you ready?"
Feeling like he'd given Valyr enough time to get back to peak condition, Scho'doxa appeared in front of the young man as he asked him a question.
"As ready as I could ever be." Nodding in response, the young man stood up with a calm smile on his face, having long prepared his arquebus for the fight that was about to come.
"Alright then." Hearing Valyr's words, Scho'doxa beamed a faint smile. "Time for me to do a bit of work."
Whoosh!
At those words, the man disappeared in front of the young man's vision, prompting the latter to briefly wonder what kind of opponent he'd be up against.
Seeing as his next fight was also the final fight in the entire challenge, Valyr thought that there was a high possibility for his last opponent to be of a different race as well.
"My opponent at the early Rank 6 level was an orc, while my opponent at the mid Rank 6 level was a half-elf," murmured the young man to himself, pondering what species in Veldanyr would be fitting as his final opponent.
However, before he could even finish his train of thought, Scho'doxa appeared in front of Valyr once more.
And beside the man was a person the young man was more than familiar with.
