Chapter 1227 Giving Up
"..."
Destruction.
Before Riekan could even understand what was going on, destruction swiftly filled his vision, with a great portion of his clan's estate turned to rubble in exchange for damage to the Vessel of Envy.
Was he glad that the dark entity received a lot of damage from the attack?
Considering how it had already revived itself once from death, the man was more than happy to see the Vessel of Envy knocked down once more. After all, it would've been absurd if an attack like that deal negligible damage to the entity instead.
However, was he glad that the cost to do so caused a large part of the clan's estate to disappear?
Of course not. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
With how he was the one who built the Caemelio clan up to where it was now, it made a lot of sense that most, if not all of the buildings within the clan estate were products of his efforts as well.
With that, it was no surprise that Riekan felt a twinge of pain in his heart when he saw them crumble before his very eyes, the memories associated with them briefly flashing within his mind.
"..." Yet, even though he felt a bit of anger at how Valyr handled the situation, the man knew that the young man was just doing all he could to tip the scales of the fight to their favor.
If anything, it should've been him that was supposed to be fighting the Vessel of Envy one-on-one. After all, between the two of them, he was a bona fide Myth. On the other hand, Valyr had to use a ton of skills just to push his strength to where it could match a Myth.
Then again, from what he'd seen in their fights thus far, Riekan did not take long to come to the conclusion that Valyr was a far better combatant than he was.
Not only was the young man a far better combatant in terms of close-quarters combat, but he was also a far better combatant than Riekan was even from long-range, making use of magic spells that even the man understood would deal tons of damage on the battlefield.
'Well, he isn't called the Warlord of the East for nothing,' thought Riekan to himself, being reminded of the moniker Valyr's alternate identity received on the battlefield.
In the end, he pushed all of the negative thoughts lingering in his mind to the side for the meantime, focusing all of his attention on what was more important instead.
"Is it... over?" Seeing that the Vessel of Envy had stopped moving once again after receiving Valyr's attack, Riekan looked at the young man with a hint of curiosity as he activated his identification skill on the entity.
"...I think so," replied the young man after a while, faintly nodding only after he was certain that the Vessel of Envy's health was below zero.
But of course, with how the Vessel of Envy had already revived itself once from death, there was nothing that stopped it from reviving a second time.
"However, there's a chance that it might..." continued Valyr with this thought in mind, only to then gradually finish his sentence over the next few seconds as he felt vitality thrum within the Vessel of Envy once more.
Though, once he did, all thoughts of fighting back immediately disappeared without a trace in his mind.
Instead, a strong feeling of annoyance welled up within him as he took out an ordinary-looking talisman from his spatial bracelet.
"...You know what? Fuck this."
"I'm calling Vaughn."
Whoosh!
Infusing a decent amount of Prime Azure Energy into the talisman, the young man kept his eyes on the Vessel of Envy as he felt his consciousness connect to some far-away place.
'I'm gonna need your help, Vaughn.' The moment he got that feeling, Valyr quickly took the initiative to start the conversation. 'I need you to kill the enemy we're currently facing.'
'How much time do we have?' asked Vaughn as his voice echoed in the young man's mind. 'Also, what are you currently up against?'
'Peak Rank 7, has both a subclass and a tier,' responded Valyr the moment he could, getting the feeling that the Vessel of Envy could attack him at any second.
'We don't have much time. It might attack me at any moment.'
'Relax. It'll only take me a few seconds, tops,' said Vaughn in response, to which Valyr immediately felt was a lot of time.
After all, he was up against the strongest Myth-level being he'd encountered so far. From the strength it was giving, it could charge at him at any moment.
With that, Valyr decided to give the man a bit more information.
'It's a Vessel of Envy.'
Fortunately for him... that much information was enough.
'Well, why didn't you tell me that the first time?'
