Alex blinked as all the information showed up in front of him, he took a deep breath and glance through the information one at a time, the experiment actually worked.
Alex was now a mage and an assassin, first was the skill points he got, just like when he chose the assassin class, he was also offered 100 skill points.
Now that he was a mage, the Mana stat had also appeared along with magical resistance and magical damage, Alex wasn't sure if it was the result of the experiment or if it was like that for all mages.
"Wow..." Alex mumbled as he stare at the information in front of him.
Jessica had finally calmed herself down and wiped away her tears, then she looked at Alex who was smiling like a madman.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Jessica asked.
"It worked, the Mana core formed, I'm now a mage!!" Alex shouted with excitement in his voice.
"Huh! how are you so sure it worked, I haven't even examine your body to see if it actually works, give me a few seconds," Jessica said as she stood up from the ground.
Martha moved over to where Mary was and she was sleeping ever so peacefully, all her Mana had been drained so they were stuck here till she woke up and recover enough Mana to open a portal for them but that wasn't the most pressing issue.
Jessica moved towards Alex and removed the straps from his hands and legs, she quickly moved towards her table and wore a pair of glasses on her eyes.
"Those glasses look different, do they have a special use or are they..." Alex stopped when he saw Jessica's face, she was terrified for some reason making Alex look at his chest.
"Is something wrong?" Alex asked jolting her back to reality.
"No it's nothing," Jessica said with a smile.
'These glasses were developed by me and they enable me to see Mana in its raw form, but there is something on this boy's chest, it's like a powerful beast is coexisting with him, I'm sure he had no idea'
"How do we proceed, Mary and Martha are already asleep, what do we do next," Alex said as he stood up, he was beyond excited by this development.
Becoming a mage was good but surviving as a mage was the harshest part, mages are as good as their spells and surroundings and very weak in close combat but once they are given space to grow, they become powerful enough to stop anyone.
Alex wasn't interested in taking the hard way or he would have gone with the mage class, the assassin class was specialized in silent operation so he believed he would climb to the top faster.
"There is nothing to do next, now you just have to learn spells, practice them and execute them," Jessica said barely maintaining her smile.
'She wasn't acting this way before, isn't she supposed to be excited that her experiment worked, or is something wrong?' Alex asked himself.
"We should check which element you have the highest affinity to" Jessica spoke and took another crystal from the table, the crystal this time was just average and it wasn't a beast crystal.
"Hold this in your hand"
[Magical Testing orb - uncommon]
"What am I going to do with this?" Alex asked, he knew the orb is used to detect mana but Alex didn't know how he was supposed to use it.
"Infuse Mana into the orb and it would light up, then we can know which element you'll need to learn"
"...How do I infuse Mana?" Alex asked looking down, he had seen Gabriel cast spells but now that he was a mage he wondered how Gabriel was able to cast those spells.
"It's quite simple, just think I'm going to infuse Mana and then do it that's all," Jessica said.
"Okay then... I'm going to infuse Mana" Alex shouted as he held the orb but even after few seconds later nothing happened.
"You still haven't learned to control Mana but there's nothing to worry about, we'll try this later now we need to worry about her," Jessica said pointing to Mary.
"We need her to exit this cave right, but why is she asleep and Martha is also asleep?"
"She is very exhausted and even if we do wake her, she wouldn't be able to open a portal till she recovers enough mana to do that, and sleeping is one of the best ways to recover Mana.
"How come she used up all her Mana, and if I recall Martha was also tired when I woke up, what happened during the experiment?" Alex asked.
"Nothing major, but they ended up using their Mana to support me, we just have to wait a while and then we can leave," Jessica said.
"Okay," Alex said and stood up from the chair, he looked around the cave and wondered how it was made.
Initially, when he came here he didn't think much about it but he knew ice usually changes back to water after some time but this cave was still covered in ice, Alex looked around and his eyes glanced towards Jessica and she was staring at him.
'What is the black light in his chest, is it close to his heart or is that his heart, does he know about it or is he unaware that something like that is residing in his body' Jessica questioned herself while staring at Alex unaware that he was staring back.
Alex waved his hands towards her but she wasn't able to see the hands he was waving, all her attention was focused on the black light she saw in Alex's chest which was where the mark of the sixth elder god was.
