It was the night after hearing the news about the upcoming Witch Subjugation. Lulurun was bracing herself and readying to head out.

It was the first contact with an unknown entity. Rhynes would probably be offended that Lulurun would do such a thing without notifying anyone, so Lulurun decided that if she was doing this, it would be at night when visibility was poor.

“Alright, time to go?” Lulurun asked.

And after that:

“Fara.”

Lulurun starts floating via levitation magic.

“Faralia.”

It’s supposed to be a high-speed flight spell, but what Lulurun used was too fast to be called merely “high speed.”

With flight magic that breaks the sound barrier, Lulurun headed to the Witch of the North’s territory.

Her purpose is “to have a dialogue with the Witch of the North.” It’s too late once the subjugation operation gets underway. Before they get there, Lulurun must confirm the existence and purpose of the Witch. Lulurun still felt the possibility that she didn’t need to kill the Witches.

Are the Witches really evil?

As far as Rhynes is concerned, the Witch of the South is most definitely a malicious Witch. Indiscriminate destruction is unacceptable. But, are they all similarly evil? There are some points that stuck out to Lulurun.

""

Why aren’t the Four Witches colluding, and why aren’t they actively taking over the world by carving out territories in the four regions? Is the deterrence of the Order of the Holy Empire working, or is there some other reason…?

She can’t be sure unless she confirms it personally. It may be too much detail-hunting, but as a fellow mage, she wanted to know the true goals and intentions of the Witches and their casting magic.

And the possibility that she is most concerned about… are they also reincarnated people from another world like Lulurun?

“Oop.”

And as soon as she entered the Witch of the North’s territory, Lulurun suddenly stopped in mid-air.

It felt like there was something, a wall of light in front of her.

“Territory Boundary spell, I see, she can use spells beyond the Super Magic level, huh?”

When it comes to barrier spells of this scale, it was a level higher than what the world and Rhynes recognized was the ceiling.

“I’m glad I came here,” Lulurun said.

If the subjugation begins without knowing anything, something might have happened to Rhynes, this Witch can use spells beyond the Super Magics, that is quite important information.

However, the goal now is not subjugation, not the intent of engaging the Witch in combat, or anything to do with Rhynes.

“The goal now is to talk,” Lulurun said.

She ignores the barriers and invades.

The barrier itself wasn’t the offensive type that could kill intruders, but it was an advanced spell that denied living creatures passage, however, with Lulurun’s being able to constantly activate Ultimate Magics, she could enter without difficulty.

“Anti-Magic is effective, now where’s the Witch?” Lulurun asked.

Magical runes appear in Lulurun’s eyes. Clairvoyance was search magic that allowed you to spot targets from far away, the intended target now is a “high-level mage.”

And after scanning for a while, she found one such target. She was also extremely high level.

“Well, if this isn’t a Witch, that would be interesting, but should I go anyway?” Lulurun asked.

Her sights set, she teleports to her target.

“Rubu.”

In an instant, the transport spell succeeds, there is a woman, who’s probably…

“It’s strange to have visitors at this hour, are you the one who just broke through my barriers?”

“Are you the Witch of the North?” Lulurun says bluntly to the woman she met for the first time.

“If you want to know a person’s name, give your name first, did no one teach you that?” the woman asked before she turned around and faced Lulurun.

“Huh?”

Lulurun can’t hide her surprise at the woman’s bewitching atmosphere, because:

“Why are you naked?”

“What are you talking about?” the woman said. “I don’t wear clothes when I sleep, so why would you be surprised when you came to attack me in my sleep?”

Not even upset by Lulurun’s uninvited, sudden entrance, the woman shows off her nakedness.

“Hold up! Don’t just show off!?” Lulurun yelled as she turned her head, unable to bear seeing that beauty directly.

“Hold up yourself!” the woman said. “Aren’t you a woman? You’re a woman, right? What, then? Why are you going night crawling? That’s so pathetic!”

The woman who seemed to be a Witch was deeply disappointed with Lulurun.

“So?” the woman asked. “Are you also a witch?”

Despite her annoyance, she bluntly asks questions.

“You mean to say you’re the Witch of the North, right?” Lulurun asked.

“What do you think? Do you think I’m a Witch? Do you?” the woman said.

""

Does Lulurun think she’s a witch? Her answer is “Yes.”

It was unexpected for Lulurun, instead of seeing an old woman as she imagined, the witch is a woman of about 20 years old. She looks like a lady who wouldn’t hurt a fly, but she clearly exudes the magical power of a Witch, and a very high-level mage at that.

In short, this naked woman is one of the Witches that the world fears, “The Witch of the North.” She’s certain, but Lulurun has doubts because her cheerful attitude was far from what she imagined.

“If you say you’re a witch, why did you suddenly appear in my bedroom for no apparent reason?” the woman asked. “Night crawling? Is that your hobby? But, you should know, I’m not interested in other women… sorry, by the way, you are night crawling, aren’t you?”

“You’ve got it wrong!” Lulurun said.

“Then what did you come to do?” the Witch of the North whispers with a bright smile.

At that, Lulurun seriously answers:

“I didn’t come to fight you, I had a lot of questions to ask… I apologize for suddenly teleporting into your bedroom, I’m sorry,” Lulurun said.

“Then apologize properly,” the Witch of the North said.

Lulurun was able to have a conversation with Rhynes, she’d surely be able to hold a conversation with the Witch, so Lulurun speaks honestly, careful not to irritate the other person.

“Also, I’m not a witch, I’m… a magical girl,” Lulurun said.

That was important, so she decided to correct the Witch.

“Magical girl? Huh? What? Say it again,” the Witch of the North said.

“Huh? No… anyway, I’m a magical girl…” Lulurun said.

“What was that, that’s hilarious, a magical girl? lololol,” 1 the Witch of the North laughs out loud at Lulurun.

“You’re super cute,” the Witch of the North says after she recovers.

“You don’t have to laugh so much, do you?” Lulurun asked.

“Aah, sorry, sorry, you were serious, okay,” the Witch of the North said.

“I’ll ask you outright, are you an evil witch?” Lulurun asked.

“That’s certainly a fun question, it’s strange that there are still people asking that, isn’t it?” the Witch of the North said.

“I’m serious!” Lulurun yelled. “Answer me properly.”

“I’m sorry, then, that was a serious question, yes, yes,” the Witch of the North said.

Then, she approaches Lulurun and whispers in her ear,

“I am a very, very evil Witch.”

Snap! Lulurun’s anti-magic reacts to her words.

“What?”

The Witch of the North looks upset to see the reaction.

“Encantal, huh? You certainly are an evil Witch,” Lulurun said.

“Did you disable my spell?” the Witch of the North said.

“I can automatically disable that level of magic, it’s useless to use it on me,” Lulurun said.

“Seriously?”

“Heh,” the Witch of the North went, with the new assessment, she recovers and changes her attitude a little.

“A magical girl, huh… you’re going to be very fun, after all,” the Witch of the North said.

“I’m not going to fight you, I just want to talk to you,” Lulurun said.

At the eerie signs the Witch of the North was giving off, Lulurun felt an extraordinary premonition, that her attitude to talk had changed.
