Chapter 2598: New Era

“Finally finished,” I said as I opened my eyes; I was tired but also happy. I had succeeded and succeeded with much more failure than I had expected.

This mass advancement gave us sixty-eight Grandmasters, a number that would shock anyone to death if they heard it. Combining that with the Grandmasters we have produced, in the eight months before it, the project had produced a total of one hundred and sixty-one Grandmasters within nine months.

What we have achieved in nine months is not even achieved in a century, and I understood that the only reason I was able to achieve this feat was because of rule-bending power; without it wouldn’t be possible, even all the resources in treasuries of nine supremes.

Buzz!

I looked at all the seventy-one spheres before activating the last formation; as I did, the runes dimmed further before beginning to unravel from the formation of which they are part and came toward me.

For those watching from above, it looked like a tsunami of runes coming at me, which quickly covered me in its embrace, but a few seconds later, it had completely disappeared, leaving not a single rune behind, making one wonder whether they had experienced the hallucination.

Countless precious resources had been used in making these runes; while most of these resources had depleted, there is still something that remained in them. It will save me a lot of resources in the next month of mass breakthrough.

Speaking of mass breakthrough, we are nearly dry of resources; the resources of nine supremes vaults would be only able to sustain the operation of three projects for a month, and I really hope pyramid and others provide the necessary resources, or I fear we will have to slow down or worse stop, both of the options are unacceptable.

I shook my head of those thoughts; today is not the day to think about those things; today, I have accomplished something, and I should enjoy this accomplishment.

I wish my family had been here to share my joy; due to the nature of secrecy, I could not tell even my mother about it, who has a pretty high clearance.

Not many people know about it, even someone like Lady Hera did not know, though I think that has changed or will change. She had a lord of glasses soul anchored to herself, and her power was also pretty close to Grand Lord; it is obvious that she would know about the project and many top-secret things.

At least I have Marina; with that thought, I slowly got up and flew toward the disk where everyone was standing.

Thud!

I landed on the disk and saw quite an odd scene; more than half of the people were crying, be it from my team, council members, or even freaking Grand Lord. Even Patriarch Bradford’s eyes are moist, which I did not think was possible.

Crazy Marie opened her mouth to say something, and I am sure it would have been loud, but this time, Grandmaster Salvador was well prepared. He closed her mouth with his hand before she could utter the word and wouldn’t release it no matter how much she struggled or glared.

“Grandmaster Zaar, today you have ushered an era, an era that will truly see the end of the Grimms,” said Grand Commander, and after that, she did something shocking, she bowed, and with her, the whole council, my team, and even three Grand Lords, while I watched in shock.

“Thank you, but it was an effort of all of us, not single me,” I said simply.

“Grandmaster, the council, has some importance to discuss; please come to central command in ten minutes,” she said and disappeared along with the council and Grand Lords.

I looked at the empty space they had left behind before turning to my team. “Today, we have accomplished an impossible thing, a thing that no one in the history of the human race was able to accomplish, and you all should feel proud of that,” I said slowly.

“But our work is far from over; the challenge ahead us is big; it would not be crushed by a hundred some Grandmasters.”

“We will have to continue producing Grandmasters, and not just the Grandmasters, High Grandmasters, and even Grand Lords if fortune shone on us. So, rest today, and from tomorrow, we will work even harder and will continue till we crushed every single Grimm Monster that remained in our world,” I added and finished my speech.

“It shall be accomplished; there will be a day in our lifetime where there will be no Grimm,” said Jenkins, and everybody nodded to that.

It is a dream that every human has, and we will accomplish it in our lifetime.

I talked to them for a few minutes, including fixing the date of the party; usually, our success party is a few hours after the mass breakthrough, but currently, no one is in the state to party. Each and every one of them is tired and sleep-deprived; some of them hadn’t slept for days.

They need rest before they can even think of celebrating.

They left one by one till only Marina had remained. “Don’t spend too much time in the meeting; you also need rest,” said Marina before she hugged me.

“I am proud of you, and if your parents were here, they would also be proud,” she said before kissing me. The kiss was short, and after pulling back, she walked into the teleportation formation and disappeared.

I stayed on the floating disc for a few seconds before I took walked into the teleportation formation and disappeared, and appeared in the central command, where I got a little surprised.

The table is a rectangle; on the head of the table are five Grand Lords, all five of them including the lord of Glass, whose projection looked quite similar to his peers sitting beside him. On the opposite side of them is Grand Commander, while on both sides are a member of the council.

For the first time in a long while, I have seen all the Grand Lords and council members present in the command.

There is also a new person sitting among the council members, and she is looking at me with a deep shock. She is lady Hera; her appearance did not surprise me. I kind of expected her to be here.

“Grandmaster Zaar, please take a seat,” said the Grand Commander; I nodded and appeared beside the only empty seat, which was beside lady Hera.

“You know, I am really deeply regretting not recruiting you,” she said and sighed. It was not the first time she had said these words, but the emotion in them was never this heavy. I did not say anything other than smile.

“Now that Grandmaster Zaar has appeared, let begin,” said Grand Commander and tapped the buttons on her table; soon, the battle plan appeared, and like before, the photos of people on it were empty.

“It is finally the time we select the people for the mission,” she said and tapped a few buttons, and hundreds of photos have appeared, giving me a glimpse into one of the deepest secrete of the human race.

Showing me the true number of Grandmasters we humans have.
