“Burn!”

Said the old snake, and to my surprise and the great shock of the Anrd, another formation appeared from its skin; it was blood-red and much denser in the script.

“Ahhhhhh….”

As it appeared, it glowed in a bloody red light as it began to harness life-essence in a huge amount making Anrd scream in agony, but the old snake did seem to care about that, as it moved its fingers and formation glowed brighter, harnessing even more life-essence from the Grimm.

Anrd wanted to resist it, but it seemed to have been immobilized, becoming nothing more than a source from which it could draw the life-essence to power up the Grimm script covering my shields.

I was shocked seeing what was happening; one-second Anrd was a Grand Lord class powerhouse which is willing to burn its life essence to power up the old snakes formation, and the next second, it had become an unwilling source of life energy for the old snake.

The thing that shocked me is not old snake harvesting from unwilling Grimm, it is not beneath the Grimm to do that, but it is doing it to another Grand Lord class powerhouse.

Grand Lords are not simple Masters or Grandmasters; they are Grand Lords, the limited powerhouses that very few are produced through millennia. Each one is precious, and a lost single one is a great loss to each race, but here, old snake is burning one for its life essence.

I knew the Grimms would be willing to sacrifice even Grand Lord to kill me, but I never thought they would actually do it in a literal sense.

Not to mention, no Grimm would let that happen, but Anrd was different; it had trusted the old snake too much that it had become its pet, and now, it is getting sacrificed for the purpose of its master.

Though it did not seem willing for it, it was not that it mattered with the preparations the old snake had made.

Barely a few seconds passed since the harvest of the blood-essence began when the coppery mist began to come out of the body of Anrd.

ROAARRRR!

The mist transformed into a bloodline phantom, and it seemed livid as it roared, and immediately the harvest of life essence began to slow down, and I could see a visible relief appear on the Arnd’s face.

“Mighty bloodline, I have made enough preparation that even you wouldn’t be able to stop me from getting what I want,” said the old snake with a hint of mockery as another formation appeared from under the skin of Anrd, and it is gold in color and looked like it is carved from the melted cold.

The golden formation had activated, and for a couple of seconds, nothing had happened, but soon, the phantom began to fade slowly, and the speed of harvest began to pick up.

‘A Genius!’ I couldn’t help but exclaim in my mind what it had done now was simply amazing, and I didn’t think anyone other than old snake and me could achieve such a thing.

I called it a genius because it was able to do it without rule-bending power, which is ten times a hundred times more difficult.please visit panda(-)N0ve1.co)m

The old snake could not achieve such a thing in a matter of days; it had to lay the formation deeply inside it and let it secretly accumulate the power slowly and become part of Grimm that even bloodline begin to consider it a part of the body, only this way could the formation isolate within the formation.

Which means the old snake laid the formation a long time ago, even before it became a Grand Lord or awakened its bloodline.

It is quite a gamble, but one that succeeded and giving the old snake a battery from which it could use a massive amount of life essence to use necessary times like this.

“I have seen many heartless Grimms, but not one such as you,” I said, “Though, I am impressed by isolation formation; I don’t think anyone other than you in the Grimms race had the capability of imprinting such complex formation in another Grimm,” I praised and it is genuine.

“Thank you, it feels good to be praised by a fellow scholar,” said the old snake with the faint bow.

“How long ago have to imprint the formation inside it; it should be at least three centuries ago before it became a Grand Lord,” I said, and a faint surprise appeared on its face before that turned into a bright smile.

“Three hundred and sixty-seven years ago, when he was just an Emperor,” He replied. “A great gamble on your part; even I would hesitate hundred times before thinking of using ink of mesaerin gold for a long shot,” I said, and true surprise appeared on its face, but it hid it too quickly.

“I am very glad; I am going to kill you now, Zaar, because you are the true threat of humans, not that bitch from the abyss or her student, but you,” it said sombrely with a hint of relief.

“You have not killed me, old snake, and you will never be able to,” I said to that old snake and smiled. “You overestimate yourself too much, Zaar; these are measures that would have given even Rhaek’s headache; you will definitely die from it,” it said, with its voice oozing with confidence.

It truly believes its measures could kill me, and it is not wrong.

“We will see then,” I said.

We did not speak further and just watched as the flood of life-essence came out of the Anrd and filled the runes covering my shields.

While it may seem like I am doing nothing other than waiting for my death, I am not; my two clones are working furiously, creating the formations across the shields at lightning speed for a showdown that will happen when it finishes harnessing all the blood essence from Anrd.

A minute passed, and there was no change in us; we looked at each with a smile on our faces and cautioned in our eyes, waiting for a moment, which would appear at the end of the minute.

Hun!

As such, a few seconds passed when suddenly a small change appeared on the face of both of us, small nothing to be worried about, but after a second, that small change transformed into a shock at the same time.

Because a shocking thing had happened, and both of us were having a hard time believing it.
