“Look, my single attack made the cracks on the shield,” said Nras boisterously.
“It is not just your attack; it is the combined attack of us two that made the cracks, and for your information, I have been able to make the cracks on the shields,” replied Mazla defensively.
“Keep telling yourself that,” said Nras, and once against, raised its halberd for the attack; Mazla, too, glared and raised its lance and attacked.

Once again, their weapons clashed against my shield and spread the cracks that formed on it, and this time, they did not waste any time speaking and instead attacked again immediately after that, widening the cracks on my shield even further.
I started to make the change into the shields to deal with the combined attacks while they continued with their attacks without stopping.
Soon, the cracks covered 20% of the shields and began to increase with the constant attacks; seeing I was worried, but not enough to force me to burn my essence.
If they want to break through my shields, they would need more power than this, and they don’t have that much power.
‘Do you need aid?’ I heard from the pyramid, ‘No,’ I replied, and even if I wanted the aid, I would think about ten times before asking.
Nearly all our Grand Lords are fighting across the various battlefields, and the one that remained in the pyramid is not powerful enough to help me against these enemies.
So, it is better I handle them on my own rather than taking any Grand Lord from their respective battlefield, which will have disastrous consequences.
Soon, the cracks have covered 25% of my shields, and the color of the shields changed at the border, increasing their defenses further.

The attacks clashed again after the change, but this time, a surprise appeared on the faces of two Grimm Grand Lords, as not a single crack appeared.
The ever-growing cracks seemed to have stagnated.
“Try harder, Mazla,” said Nras as it created loudly to harness even more power; its halberd remained in the air for a couple of seconds before coming down, with Mazla matching its attack in timing and might.

Their attacks landed, and this time there was a change in the cracks, but instead of making them happy, they made them angry.
As the cracks widened, they widened by a fraction, not even a quarter of a percent.
While the little progress made them angry and frustrated, it did not stop them, even for a second. Instead, this anger begins to help them harness more power as they begin to attack my shields in a mad fury.
I watched as the cracks spread slowly with each of their attacks; the progress was slow, but it worried me, and I began to focus harder on making changes in the shields.
Every bit I do would count in slowing the cracks on my shields.

The cracks kept spreading with every attack; it did not take them long to increase the cracks to 26%, which seemed to motivate them even more as they began to attack even more furiously.
Within a minute, they took the cracks to 30%.
It is not just my defenses that are cracking, but also the defenses of many Grimms and humans; many defenses cracked, which would have killed them if not for their allies appearing on time and saving them.
Though it is without a doubt that injuries are piling on both sides, especially on the new Grand Lords, who do not have much experience fighting such power.
Due to it, they ended up making mistakes, and even a small mistake in such a battle could wipe you from the face of the earth.
“Scared Zaar? You should be; it won’t be long before we blast open your shields and vaporize your filthy soul from the face of this world,” said Nras as it attacked my shield further.
“First crack my shields, Nras and then talk,” I said back while looking at shields that have cracks to 40% and are spreading slowly with each attack.
The Grimms are trying to harness more and more power with each attack; while their increase in strength is minute, it will affect things if it keeps increasing at such a pace.
I wish I could do anything about it other than burn my blood and escape; I am pretty much powerless to do anything.
I could not even trap any Grimm into my rose redemption; they have gone too far, while these bastards are too strong for either of my methods to work.
This is really frustrating, especially when I think about how easy it had been to capture Grimm into my string when I was Master and below.
As long as Grimm and I share the same boundary of power, even if it is many times powerful, I would still be able to wrap it around my strings, but it is not possible when it comes to Grand Lord.
They are immensely powerful with unbreachable defenses; it pains me to regret it, but I could only use my methods on those who are closer to my power. Grimms are these two are very hard; even when attacking me, these two are keeping powerful defenses.
The swirling fire around Mazla is still present, and it had become even denser when it came close to me.
If I tried to use my methods, the rose redemption would burn, and strings would get discovered, which I do not want to happen.
Soon, the cracks reached 50%, and immediately, the color of the shield’s border have changed again. It immediately turned the expression of Grimm serious, but it did not stop their attacks.
CLANNNNG CLANNNG
The Grimms attacked without stopping, but this time something different happened; the cracks did not spread, not even by a fraction; my shields have stopped their attack.
Seeing that, a relieved smile couldn’t help but appear on my face.
