"Fuck!" I cursed, seeing another failure.

I would have been happy. If it had been able to bear 70% of the load. I am confident, I would have been able to improve it enough, to take its capabilities to 80% or even 90%, if lucky.

But it was not even able to bear 60% load properly and exploded at 65%.

I calmed myself down and brought out another set of links, made using different types of methods.

I connected them and took the power output to 10% from 1%, before increasing it to 20%, 30%, 40%, and then 50%.

I was about to increase it further when I noticed the instability, which couldn't help my expressions worse.

BANG!

I didn't do it for a minute, before taking the power 60%; the formation hadn't even released a full 60% power when all the chains exploded into the fine.

The link had behaved even worse than the first one, but not as worse as some, which couldn't even bear 40% of the power.

'Do I have to reduce the power?' I asked myself before pushing that thought away.

Reducing the power below 80% is not an option. If it didn't happen, I would discard the plan of the moon itself. For the things I want to achieve with it; I need 80% minimum.

I sighed and looked at twenty-four formations; I had worked really hard to create them, but now I couldn't even create simple links that could bear their power.

Of course, I could create powerful links, but there is a limitation.

I couldn't make infinitely big chains; there is a limit to their size. I have already lessened the power of these formations. So, I could accommodate powerful links, which couldn't even bear the water of watered-down formations.

"Father, you could try that one; the formation you have created for your homework a month ago," said Nero suddenly.

For a moment, I wasn't able to guess what he was talking about before the bulb lit up in my brain.

"Are you talking about this?" I asked, and a formation appeared. It is a simple one, made of only one thousand one hundred and two runes.

"It is too simple; it won't work," I replied as I looked at the formation of ancient runes.

It is a basic linking formation; unlike the ones I have been creating for the powerful formation. Which have been crafted, with load and energy in mind.

Forget bearing the load. It will not even take the energy.

"It didn't hurt to try. You might get inspired by what you find," he said, stopping me in my thoughts.

He is right, I might find something in the process that might help in designing a better link.

I raised my finger, and immediately, twenty-three copies came out of it and moved toward the massive formations before connecting to them.

Seeing the links and giant formations, they are connecting. It felt like massive boulders were strung on thin strings.

The difference is even starker than that.

Seeing everything was good, I had activated the formation and a moment later, a surprise couldn't help but appear on my face.

As the formation activated, it connected itself without any problem. I could seven see one 1% of power moving smoothly through those runes.

It took me a while to calm myself down before I increased the power to 10% and no change occurred. It bore it without any problem.

So, I took to 20% and saw it was fine, then 30% and there was still no change. Seeing that, I took it 50%.

There was no change. The power is flowing smoothly through them.

"Let's see how far you could go," I said, with excitement building in my heart.

I took the power to 70% directly, till now no link was able to bear it, but as I looked, there was no problem. It shocked me, but I didn't let the shock stop me and took it 80% and there it was still no change.

"Fuck it," I muttered and activated the formation to 100%.

The formations blazed in full power, but there was no slightest change in links. They transferred the whole power without so much a shake.

"I can't believe it," I said as I looked at the link.

It is a simple formation, there is nothing complex about it other than I had made it the way, the teacher had asked me.

It is bearing the full power of the whole formation without the slightest problem.

I looked at it for a minute before waving my fingers and the formation disappeared, leaving only the links behind.

They didn't remain alone for a second, as another twenty-four formations appeared in place of the old formations. This is slightly bigger than the earlier formations.

This is a full-powered version; the earlier one was watered down.

I had not thought the links would support this one, so I created the less-powered one, but the links couldn't even bear the power of the less-powered formations.

I connected to the links and activated the formation and, like with the last formation, there was no problem.

I looked at it for a few seconds, before taking the power to 50% directly. It is slightly more than the full power of the last formation and even with such power; the link is fine.

"Full power," I muttered and upped the notch to the full power.

Hun!

A moment later, the shaking started, and it was not the link formation of ancient runes that was shaking, but twenty-four formations.

I have tested them individually, but not together as no link was strong enough and now, it is, and I am seeing the problems.

There is a problem in a formation, but it is not big enough. It won't be exploding to the pieces. Though, I will have to fix this small problem; it will not be a difficult task and I didn't even think about it for more than a minute.

All my focus is on the link of ancient formation, which is still working fine and would be able to bear even more load.

Ancient runes are powerful, but still, the result shocked me.

What a formation of hundred thousand of common runes couldn't do, what this thousand ancient runes formation did it.

Seeing that, a thought exploded in my mind and began to repeat itself. No matter how much I tried, it wouldn't go away.

I think it of liking rune inheritance.

This means I use the common runes as well as the ancient runes in creating the inheritance.

My knowledge of the ancient runes is not so deep that I could create anything above basic formations and that is what I should do.

There are thousands of links, like formations, in my inheritance that I could change with basic formations I could create with my current ability.

It will save a lot of space, which I could use for other formations or enhance the other formations. It will also increase the power of my inheritance tremendously and make it more efficient.

Most importantly, it could help me make my breakthrough safer.

The more I thought about it; the better, the options started to feel.

I know it will not be easy and might even take the window of my escape further, but the pros outweigh the cons. Especially the one about the safety of the breakthrough.

A successful breakthrough is necessary for the escape.
