Twenty minutes later, I stopped in front of the gate.

It is the only way to get out of the compound and need a key, which I don't have.

The cultist has the key; they are the only ones who enter and exit this compound, and they only come when you bring new people, or take those, who have been completely sucked away.

They have taken away people a few months ago and the closest one, who is nearly being sucked away, is seventh months away.

So, it would be said, that if I am lucky, I have seven months to escape and unlucky. Then the cultists might come tomorrow, bringing the new bodies to suck out their true essence.

If I want to open the door, I will have to break it the old-fashioned, but before, that I have to get the formation.

It is a good thing, this is an Earth-Grade ruin. This new ability might work. I hope it does otherwise, I will have to use a different way, which might alert the cultists.

I walked toward the huge brown gate and stood in front of it, before raising my hand and placing it above it.

My hand is not touching the gate; I am not that careless.

I took a deep breakthrough and activated the method. Immediately, a wave of forbidden power released from my hand and went to the gate.

This is not a completely new method; I have used it for years, but now I have refined it further and don't need to use any tools. Thanks to my body, which had become even more accommodating to the forbidden power.

Three and half seconds later, the wave returned, with it brought a complete formation.

I looked at the formation, which five of my clones immediately started solving. It won't take long, with their improved abilities and the time dilatation.

Not to mention the leap their runic knowledge had taken the past year.

That leap had been most transformative since I had started learning the runes.

Learning the ancient runes has been a transformative leap, but using them in inheritance has been even bigger. I had to push myself to create runic formation to suit my inheritance.

The endeavor helped me take my runic knowledge forward by years.

If I continue with lessons; it would have taken me three years to learn what I had learned in six months.

Now, on the next breakthrough, I want to use the ancient runes even more. It will be a bigger challenge than Sovereign Inheritance despite it being a small upgrade, but I am excited about it.

I have a goal in mind, which is to have 10% of all formations in ancient runes for my Earth Sovereign Inheritance.

It is a lofty goal; some might even consider it impossible. Seeing this time, I was barely able to have 1% of the formation on ancient runes and they were all basic.

If I have 10% formation, then I will have to go above basic, which is really a mountainous task.

That is why, in the next small upgrades, I will use more and more ancient formations. Increase my knowledge, and challenge myself; it is the only way I would be able to achieve the mountainous task.

I sat down by the gate and closed my eyes before entering my core and the library.

Five hours and thirty-four minutes later, I opened my eyes with a smile on my face.

I got up and walked toward the door. I didn't immediately bring out runes and instead; I placed my hand above it, as I did before a moment later, a pulse of forbidden power came out of it.

This pulse is far stronger and has a different function.

It took fifty-seven seconds for it to come out and was quite faint when it did, but it had brought the information I had wanted.

I had sent this pulse out of the door; I wanted to see if there was someone waiting for me. I am dealing with the cultists, and I have to be careful.

Thankfully, no one is waiting on the other side.

At least in range, I am my soul sense. I might be lucky, and someone might wait beyond the range, but it is a chance I have to take.

A moment later, a large formation came out.

If anyone sees this formation, they would be shocked, because this formation not only contains the common runes but three small formations of the ancient runes made of a few hundred runes.

If I want to achieve my target, I will need to involve the ancient runes in everything I do.

The more I practice, the more I practice, the better I will become, and will have a greater chance of accomplishing my near-impossible goal.

I had been in an expanded space, which is in the underground of some building.

I looked around before a wave of forbidden power was released from me and only then soul sense spread.

As I had expected, the cultists have left behind a few things that will tell them anyone appeared here. Those are basics that few people would even look at them, but they served the purpose.

Thankfully, I knew enough about avoiding them, and I did as I walked ahead. Avoiding those things and these dangerous broken formations floating ahead.

As I moved ahead, I noticed there were more broken formations, but I didn't have any problem avoiding them.

I moved through them, and soon, I found the stairs, which took me to the floor above, which were also underground.

I am pretty deep in the underground; it would take me a while to get out, which I don't mind.

It will help me collect my thoughts before I reach the above.

I don't know what is above; I only have a faint idea, thanks to what that Sovereign researcher had heard accidentally from the cultists.

This could be true, but also a false, seeing it come from the cultists.

Now, I am on my own and will have to do everything on my own.

It is going to suck, seeing how much I have become dependent on them, but what other choice do I have?
