Two weeks have passed since I had returned from the Legacy Thatch with heavy rewards; since then, I had been working on my Inheritance while researching the ruins.
Her excellence had helped me a lot, and due to that, I had made huge progress in few short days. If I continue with this speed, it won't be long before I finish my Tyrant upgrade.
I wish I did not have to scour the runes; it was going to be a hugely time-consuming and dangerous process. If I had finished accumulating all the resources I needed, I would have been working on my Inheritance, not worry about the time to when I would go to scour the ruins.
In the five days since the teacher has sent the new material, I had already finished scouring through more than half of the material and selected the three runes where I could find the divine crystals and other powerful resources I needed.
All these three runes are of the XX category; I wanted to find the runes as I did not wish to throw my life away when I had reached so close to my goal, but these are only ruins where I could hope to find the resources I need.
The other less powerful runes would have already been scoured by Monster and above class Tyrants. Everyone liked the resources like Divine Crystals, and they scoured any runes for it as long as they came to know about it.
The three ruins I had selected are quite special; they are not only dangerous runes, but they are also filled with runic restrictions or strange energy that suppressed even the strength of the powerful; such runes are advantageous to me abilities like rule-breaking power and partner like Ashlyn who barely gets affected by any suppressions.
There are hundreds of XX category runes; nearly all of them are public; the coordinates of them are provided by the Pyramid to all the organization.
There are few hundred ruins that have remained to be researched, but I will be finished with them in few days, and the list will be drawn.
Knock Knock!
I was working on my Inheritance when I saw an informed of the guest through the security system of my home. I opened my eyes and looked at the camera projection before got out of my room into the hall when I saw Elina standing on the porch with slight nervousness.
"Come in, Elina," I said as I opened the door for her, and she walked in inside the hall with me.
"Sorry for those words; I understand how harsh they were," I apologized with a sigh as I took a seat opposite to her.
"Yes, your words were harsh," She said back while glaring at me, "But, I needed to hear them," She added, and her glaring eyes have softened.
"The power I had gained was a lot, not only for the Emperor but also for the Tyrant. Half of the Tyrant, never able to reach the middle of the unranked stage in their life,"
"I gained that power, and battles became easy; I was even able to defeat those who are middle of the unraked stage and survived the assault of a couple of Tyrants who were at the peak of the unraked stage,"
"All this made me feel powerful, and the progress at this stage became harder, which made me believe I had reached the limit," She said as she looked at the afternoon sun outside.
"I understand what you are feeling, and I know, at one point, it feels like you can't make any more progress," I said as I took my hands in her. Before designing the Honeycomb, I was feeling the same.
Those with Bloodline have a higher limit with unlimited potential to expand that; even I don't know how much they could expand an Emperor's limit, but I know one thing. These bloodlines have amazing power, and they are capable of far more than what I had achieved with my little expander; the host just has to work hard to achieve it.
I still remember my limit before I created Honeycomb; it did not even give me the power to fight the Tyrant, only when I made the Honeycomb and lord all strengthen and stabilized it did I barely able to fight against the Tyrant and gained the strength to fight after I consumed its bloodline essence.
The thing I want to say is that those with bloodlines have an immense advantage over those with someone like me or those with regular inheritances.
For people like me, we have to innovate; I did not want to accept my limits, so I had expanded them. If there had been anyway, that could help me increse my power further, I would have taken that way, but I had reached my limit, and the only way I could advance now, is advancing into the Tyrant stage, which itself going to be a life and death struggle for me.
"Your words, harsh as they may be, helped me a lot, helped me understood the time we are in, and mediocrity is unacceptable. So, even if the target seems impossible, I have to reach it; that is the only way I would able to survive the coming days and have the strength to protect those who are close to me," She said and looked at me.
This time there is a fire burning in her eyes, and this fire is nothing to do with her Bloodline; it is all herself. Seeing such blazing intent in my friend's eyes, a smile couldn't help but appear on my face.
"I was hoping that when you went to the ruins, you would take me with you, not all of them but some that you think will have something to help me progress," She asked; her request stunned me; I had not expected it from her. Even if Elina did not know about the ruins I was going to, I am sure she understood that the ruins I would be going to would not be normal.
Tring Tring
I was about to answer her when suddenly my holowatch lit up with a call from the teacher, and it is not just I who have received the call, elina too have received the call.
