126 Chapter 0126

'Fuck!'

Shura cursed in his mind as he started walking a bit more towards where the crimson lines were going.

'I can't believe I was actually thinking about eating a player's heart.'

Yes.

When Shura said that he wanted to try eating Drill's heart, he actually meant it at that moment. But seconds later realisation struck him that he was getting live broadcasted throughout the world.

'Not to mention its fucking unethical!'

Shura was so ashamed of himself that he wanted to dig a grave and bury himself inside it. He felt like ever since he started eating monster hearts for faster gains, he started getting a bit more… monster-like.

His instincts back then were screaming at him to tear apart Drill's chest and take his heart out, but his logic made him avoid the situation.

'Not to mention, is it even possible?'

The backlash of heart getting separated from a player's body will immediately kill a player, forcing him to log out and vanish.

So was it possible to eat his heart?

'I don't wanna know.'

He was aware that if he turns on the setting to preserve corpses, NPCs and monster corpses will be left behind without a doubt, but there was no chance that a player's corpse will be left behind too. A player was an unkillable being for NPCs.

Even after their deaths, they didn't truly die, and on the contrary revived right back in their world.

—-Screech!

A screech broke Shura out of his thoughts as a large mantis jumped towards him.

The mantis had a red coloured, tough shell-like body, with his hands and legs seemed to be made out of some sort of sharp metal.

It used its front legs to attack Shura, but was only able to hit the long grasses behind him.

"Oi, here."

The mantis heard a voice below its back, and looked down towards its tail.

Shrua punched the mantis's tube-like body with his clawed knuckle and cut through the mantis's stomach, green liquid flowing out of it.

—-Screech!

The mantis screeched as it flapped its wings.

"Don't cheat now."

Shura held on to one of its back legs and climbed its body, punching his knuckle through the thin plastic like wings of the mantis.

The mantis looked back angrily and used both of his sharp front legs to continuously try and attack Shura, failing miserably at it as it only attacked its own body.

"You know, I had heard that praying mantises have five eyes, instead of two, I have personally confirmed it today too."

Shura looked at the three small eyes in the middle of its head, just beside the two big eyes.

He took a long jump from its back directly towards its head, punching the three small eyes in the process.

—-Krrri.r.r….rr…

The mantis tried to make some sound before his body fell with a loud thud.

"Why is its body not disappearing?"

Two players who were watching this from a distance, couldn't help but feel that something was amiss.

"It's probably because the mantis is still alive, just barely."

"No, his HP bar is gone. There's something strange."

Of course, Shura was aware of the presence of these two, as well as the other dozens of people watching the situation from different directions. As he kept going inside, the number of strong people who had landed in different areas started increasing.

'Visit (No ve (l)B i n) to read, pls!',

'You don't even have a heart.'

Mantises didn't have heart to keep their blood flow in check. Heck, they didn't even have blood.

'Well, its legs still have some meat.'

Shura said as he grabbed the back leg of the mantis, skinned its thick skin and ate the meat that came out.

After eating, stored the rest of the mantis's body in his inventory, as well as the sword that it had dropped.

Without saying anything to the onlookers, he started walking even further inside.

"What the fuck did he just do?"

"How barbaric."

"Fuck, has he lost his brain along with his humanity?"

Some players were clamouring about when they saw Shura eating a monster's flesh, and not only that but eating it raw.

Well, only some of them focused on it.

The rest were more interested than disgusted.

"He stored the monster corpse, so it was most definitely dead. But there's a way to kill a monster without losing its body? How interesting."

"That devouring of the mantis's meat, it's probably related to his race. Since it was said it's an evolvable race, it probably evolves after eating monster flesh."

Of course, it didn't take long for these players to figure out the things that the experts outside had figured out about Shura's devouring of monster meat.

And so, the event kept processing on, with 4000 out of the 7000 people already logged out within 3 hours.

North Lava Cave

10 hours into the game.

—-Slash! Cling! Smack!

"Tank! Fucking block the damage!"

Crestfallen shouted as the flying serpent monster spat flames after flames out of its mouth.

"Fuck! Is this even something that can be cleared with this level of strength?"

One of Crestfallen's guildmates shouted as they kept running for their life without being able to actually land back a single hit.

"Close combat is suicide at this point! We should just use our mages and marksmen to attack the target."

The knights, fighters and assassins in the frontlines started retreating back with everyone.

"Our formation is collapsing."

"This raid is a failure."

"Fuck! To call this a level 10 boss monster?? Kibea must be kidding! How is this anywhere near possible for anyone to raid? And what? This isn't even the last stage of the event?"

Someone cursed out indignantly. Crestfallen's team felt like they'd lose sooner or later, and the flying serpent wouldn't leave unless it had wiped everyone out.

—-Kouuungg!!

The serpent cried out as it gathered a large breath of fire in its mouth. The tank's shield had been long burnt and he no longer had enough HP to take on even a simple attack, a breath attack like that was sure to kill everyone.

"They better rename this thing as a dragon! How is this a serpent?"

Crestfallen cursed out. He was sure that he had accumulated enough points to be in the top 10 at least, but that was nowhere near satisfying enough for him.

He had come here to win the competition, not to be wiped out in such a situation.

"You guys hold on to it, I'll leave it to you."

Crestfallen ordered and everyone bitterly looked at each other. He was their leader as well as someone whose order they couldn't deny. Each and every one of them had their own dreams and wanted to stand out, but it was also true that Crestfallen was closer than them to win the prize if they compared the numbers.

Crestfallen didn't even wait to get approval from his team, as if it was something he didn't even need to ask for, as he sneaked out of the serpents area.

'Follow current novels on No v elBin.',

—-KOoounngg!

The serpent immediately sensed that a human was sneaking out and immediately let out breath in Crestfallen's direction.

"What are you guys doing? Shield my exit for fucks sake!"

Crestfallen shouted as he used his last resort defence skill that allowed him to transfer half of the damage he suffered onto his weapon.

—-Crisp.

Of course, it came with a price.

The epic sword that he had gained after hours of grind was burnt to smithereens in a second.

"Fuck! I need to find another weapon soon."

Crestfallen didn't even look back at all the smoke coming from the direction of his teammates as he left the location in a hurry.

What he missed out was the unprecedented situation that followed after he left. As soon as the smokes started clearing up, a thin layer of blue mana could be seen in a large circle, covering everyone from attack.

"Huh?"

"What…"

Everyone looked here and there out of shock, mostly at their mages to check who casted such a life saving spell at such a critical moment, not to mention at a location where their powers were suppressed.

The magicians and mages in the group wildly shook their heads to make it very clear that it wasn't them.

"Yo, you guys alright?

From the other side of the road, a smoky silhouette emerged. Just from the silhouette, one could guess that the person wasn't a human. They could see the shadows of horns and tails.

"An NPC?"

The tanker, Grant, said out loud.

"NPC my ass."

The smoke around the person cleared out and everyone was shocked to see the face… or the body of the person that had just arrived.

"Shura?"

"Yeah, yeah. You can thank me later for saving your asses. Let's first fight this thing."

Shura said as he stretched out a bit and stood in front of everyone, his face looking at the flying serpent and his back and tail visible for others to take glances on.

,m "You guys in?"

".....We are all out of HP. Even if we want to help, we can't."

Grant sighed as he looked at the direction from where Crestfallen had left.

It would have been more disappointing if he didn't know his real character.

"Here, take some potions and get back to work. You all listen to my command or I'll throw you inside that snake's belly."

Shura threw them bottles after bottles of HP and MP potions, making everyone speechless as Grant clumsily caught it all.

'"How…?"'

Everyone had the same question, how did Shura get his hands on potions in a place where there were no NPCs or anything of the like.

"Are you sure you want to ask more questions? Cause that guy seems impatient and doesn't wanna wait."

Shura said as he pointed at the Serpent who was rushing towards the group.

Everyone immediately snatched the bottles from Grant's hand before gulping them down.

"Alright, it's showtime."

Shura smiled creepily, sending a shiver down even the serpent, making him pause for a second.
