Iqol immediately drank the blue serum that Shura gave him, recovering his mana to the max.
"Deadthblade Impact!"
He shouted as he danced with his sword in his hand, his sword emanating a dark, deathly aura as it swung around here and there, leaving traces of mana in the air.
After dancing for some time, the sword's blade looked like it was going to explode from all the energy that it contained.
—-Smash!
Soon, the sword hit the ground as it created an impact in a circular area, sending shockwaves in every direction. Although the players didn't receive any damage from it, they could feel the amount of power that one impact contained.
Not to mention the live examples in front of them. Whichever mummy came in the range of the shockwave immediately turned into ashes. It successfully managed to kill more than 200 mummies, as the shockwave slowly died down.
That wasn't the only damage that it had done though. The ground and the flooring in the area of the shockwave were shaking like crazy during the whole impact as dust covered the atmosphere.
By this time, Lynch had understood what Shura was trying to do, but he was already regretting.
'Fuck, I forgot to tell him about the cooldown.'
Lynch cursed in his brain. As powerful as the [Chrysanthemum Blast] was, it also had a huge cooldown. And to activate a chained dust explosion of the same size as before, he would at least need a spell on the same level as the [Chrysanthemum Blast].
Lynch immediately drank the potion that Shura had given him and started performing a spell that no players could perform yet.
'Even though the power still won't be enough, it's better than nothing.'
Lynch grunted as he slammed his staff onto the ground, which surprisingly stood still instead of falling as he used both his hands and started chanting.
"Wait, is that—?"
The players around whos saw Lynch couldn't help but have their mouths agape. How couldn't they, it was something that no players could do in Mayhem yet.
A high level mage skill.
"Dual Casting!"
Lynch started forming two different fire skills in both his hands. Also they were relatively low ranked, facing both of them at once was something no player would wish for.
Flames ignited at his stretched out palms as Lynch's spell was close to completion.
"Thanks man, I was going to ask you to perform a fire type skill but it seems like you are already doing it. Let me take it on from here, lend me those fireballs."
Shura suddenly came out of nowhere, as he patted Lynch's back with admiration. Lynch was confused, and as such his spell was almost disturbed but something even more shocking happened.
Shura just took both of the balls of fire on Lynch's hand like they were soccer balls, which shocked the hell out of the whole world.
He put both the flames together as he gathered his hand. The flames started to get more and more violent as they started to crazily circle around like a cyclone or a vortex.
[Elemental Vortex Lv 7]
[Type: Fire]
Shura started creating a fire vortex that just grew and grew in size.
Just when it was about the size of an adult human, Shura used the applications of Ether Bullets on it as he started to suppress it. Although, this time he didn't use the same circling motion that he used all his previous spells.
Instead, he suppressed the fire while turning it chaotic, as it kept exploding like firecrackers and running in all directions in that circle which kept growing smaller and smaller.
"How the fuck can he use magic of such level when he is a dagger user?"
"Why in the world is he making the already large spell small?"
"Isn't bigger, better?"
People were trying to understand what Shura was doing when Lynch who was mesmerized by Shura's proficient use of fire magic finally snapped out of it.
"Sometimes techniques matter. Smaller can be better than bigger, you know?"
Everyone around gave all kinds of looks to Lynch, as he finally realised the other meaning behind his words.
He coughed loudly as he tried to clear the misunderstanding.
"That small spell contains more power than my Chrysanthemum Blast. I am not even sure exactly how much more it is."
[Fire Bomb Lv 1]
Shura, who was finally done with the spell, looked at it with content. The screen in front of him was shining silver unlike the usual blue screen of skills. Indicating it wasn't just any fireball.
In his hand was a small ball of fire, almost the size of a baseball, so perfectly spherical that he almost felt proud of his clay creation—- magic creation. It looked so violently red and orange that it felt like it would explode any second.
"Alright everyone, time to score a homerun."
Shura said as he actually ran towards the mummies as if the small ball in his hand was a baseball. He threw the ball as far as he could, which dropped somewhere near the centre of the entire hall.
—-Booom!
—-Eeeeeeeeeeee!
—-Beeeeeep!
As soon as the ball landed on the ground, a loud boom was heard, and after that, everyone instinctively covered their buzzing ears. It felt like their ears would explode just from the sheer sound of the impact.
The small baseball turned into a black light as soon as it hit the ground then shot upwards like a white pillar before it exploded like a nuke.
The brightness of the explosion not only blinded all the players for a good 10 seconds but also wiped out all the mummies in the room as if they never existed.
The damage done to the walls, ground and everything else was immediately healed and restored back to as it was, smoke and dust covering the whole area.
For a whole minute, no more monsters spawned in the area, but the players could still see the kill count going up.
Finally, they came to a conclusion that all the monsters that could have died if that impact was originally left were getting killed before they were even spawned. The smoke cleared and everyone, literally every player looked towards Shura with wide eyes and an agape mouth.
Shura, who realised that he was getting stared at from all angles, got slightly embarrassed as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Homerun!!....Oops….ha….ha."
Shura pretended to do an 'Oops' but failed miserably. Exactly after one minute and twenty three seconds, the mummies started respawning again, although most of them were spawned with less than half of their health, as if Shura's earlier impact was still doing quite some damage to them.
The whole situation was a bit weird. The players quickly got used to it as they swiftly started killing the mummies.
Shura wanted to give mana potions to everyone but he had a limited number of them remaining. He didn't want to waste it on people who won't even make it to the top 100.
Slowly, the monsters that were getting spawned, started spawning in full health as the impact of Shura's little fiery baseball seemed to be ending.
[All players total kill count: 157,998]
The all players kill count board jumped from just being in the ten thousands to hundred thousand within a span of 10 minutes.
"Fucking awesome. He is like a walking skill tank."
"Watch your tone, brat."
A 16 year-old kid shouted as he looked at Shura's little homerun, and his mom slapped the back of his head immediately for cursing out.
|| What did we all just witness? Hahaha! No matter how absurd this seems, Shura just scored a hundred thousand for team players within such a short time! It seems like the hope of defeating a million mummies isn't a pipe dream! Oh wait! Viking just got eliminated!
I take my words back! Players are still getting eliminated and the army of mummies just grows larger. But this is nothing to be worried about! According to the developers, this was never meant to be a stage that can be cleared. It was merely made to judge how players can turn from being rivals into teammates and how many dungeon points they can score!
I think we should all be grateful that the players are making this even more interesting with their outstanding abilities! ||
Sam, the MC for the event kept on talking as the audience cheered. They never expected to see such a spectacle.
From Lynch's Chrysanthemum, to Iqol's unexpected teamwork and Shura's nuke-like homerun, they would pay again if it means they could watch content like this.
***
"All of you that have the ability to shake the ground even a bit, use your abilities, another nuke is coming up."
Shura shouted. Since he had already shown off, he wanted to do it properly.
"Don't you have a cooldown or somethi—?"
The person who was asking that question immediately shut up as he received the glares of other players. Almost all the players of Mayhem were jealous about one common fact that the world messages have notified them off.
[Player 'Shura' has overcome the concept of cooldown!]
It was something everybody knew, so they couldn't help but be envious.
Seeing the current situation, everyone started using their skills that could cause some damage to the ground, and as expected, it was Iqol again who did the most damage.
'Was he born to beat the ground or something?'
Shura couldn't help but think as he borrowed another batch of fire from his personal lighter, Lynch. Forming another nuke baseball in his hand, he threw it in the middle, this time his aim being slightly off as the ball of fire went way backwards than it was aimed.
But it didn't perform any lower than the last nuke. It was a complete wipeout again, as the players cheered. This time, everyone had contributed to the wipeout so they all received generous dungeon points, unlike the previous time where only Iqol, Lynch and Shura hoarded all the points.
"Beating this doesn't seem as impossible anymore."
Grant said happily, unaware that he had just jinxed every player present in the raid.
