Seeing that frown sitting on her face, he released a deep sigh.
He had indeed gotten himself a girlfriend. One who was fesity in nature.
He also had to get into this role of arguing with someone, placating and comforting, plus giving in.
He had indeed gotten himself into something so deep.
Choosing to compromise a bit to get the muscles on her face to relax, he said with his gaze on her.
"I have an ongoing project, and the reason I do not want to say anything to you is because it's a surprise."
Releasing a soft sigh, he continued, "Surprises are meant to be discovered in due time."
If he said anything to her about it now that he wasn't done working around it, the effect wouldn't be as strong when compared if he left her find it out at the right time.
Zhang Liling glanced his way as she put her hands down. "Maybe I should continue to keep mute about my own project."
At this moment, Mr. Fang felt that he had aged faster than usual. What a grumpy little woman.
"Are you trying to pick a fight with me?" He asked gently.
He was trying to understand what she was making a fuss about.
Did she somehow erase patience from her personal dictionary?
"You think I have the energy to do that?" She asked, but then a thought came to her head and she quickly added.
"If I were to pick a fight with you, I will have to make sure you are the guilty one so my actions wouldn't be in vain."
Zhang Liling had thought about it, and guessed that acting willfully and doing things like this wouldn't move him.
So instead of wasting her time, she would just behave and wait till he dies something wrong, and then she would make him apologize.
For now, she would be wasting her time by picking a fight with him, as she wouldn't be surprised if he even snobbed her. It was in his nature.
Rather than waste her emotions, she would calm down.
Mr. Fang just stared at her before sighing. He didn't have any words for her.
Turning his gaze to the driver, he passed an instruction to him. "When you get to the T junction, take a left turn and stop at the big shopping mall."
Zhang Liling heard this and looked at him in wonder. Did he want to buy anything. But she didn't ask the question aloud.
It was only when he asked her to follow him that she couldn't keep her mouth shut anymore.
"Do you want to get something?" She asked as she stepped down and closed the car door.
"Yes," He said, and then finished the sentence in his mind. 'for you.'
Zhang Liling quickly followed him into the large shopping mall through the revolving door.
From the entrance, they took the elevator and went straight to the 2nd floor.
Zhang Liling was quite familiar with this mall, hence she couldn't help but to ask with a look of astonishment, at what he actually came to buy in that floor.
"Mr. Fang, are you sure you didn't press the wrong button?"
Giving her a brief glance, his eyes darted back to the elevator doors that opened at this time, before reaching out to pull her by the hand.
"My eyes are still working properly." He replied as his Black Italian shoes glided against the light pink tiles.
Seeing the environment before him, his brows knitted together as his eyes squinted. "What a tacky taste." He said.
Staring at the beauty parlour they had walked into, Zhang Liling couldn't help but to admire the baby pink and white colour used for the decor.
Shifting her gaze to the side view of the man that was holding her hand, she couldn't help but to wonder if something was wrong with his eyes.
He acted a feminine store for a hair saloon, what was he expecting to see?
Shaking off the thoughts, she asked curiously, "Did you bring me here to get my hair washed?" .he had told her that he came to get something, but how they ended up going to the floor for hair services was what she wanted explained to her.
"Yes, you can get your hair washed while we are here. If you want to do something to your nails, anything you want, just go for it. I will pay the bills." Mr. Fang said while looking around.
Slowly, a big smile turned up on Zhang Liling's face.
He brought her here because he was attentive, but what made her heart to flutter was because he mentioned about footing the bills.
That joy of having her man pay for her services, sweetened her heart the core, causing her to be unable to hide her emotions.
"Will you wait for me?" She asked.
She knew he didn't have the patience for all of this, and he had already condemned the choice of painting before a few moment ago.
But to her surprise, he gave a vague response that smittened her.
"It depends on what you want to do."
Looking around, he saw a few men that accompanied their partners to do their hair and thought it to be acceptable to wait there.
Zhang Liling squeezed his palms gently. "Thank you," she said.
"Mmmm," He hummed in response.
Soon, an attendant walked up to them and skses Zhang Liling what she wanted to do.
"Wash and straighten my hair. Then for my nails, just clean them."
Normally, she would have loved to put some artificial nails or even paint her natural nails, but she was being considerate of the man that showed her a little love. She thought it to be wise to return the favour.
Mr. Fang was shown to sit at the corner where his fellow men were sitting.
Looking at the soft padded seats, he chose the single one which was two seats away from the last person.
Immediately he took a seat, the attendant gave him some newspapers and sweets to keep himself busy.
"Sir, would you like some coffee or tea, or would you prefer water?" She asked politely.
"I'm good," Mr. Fang said sparing her a glance as he picked up the newspapers and immediately spread it open.
