Chapter 3 - Missing

There was a sense of urgency in Secretary Cheng's tone as he asked the driver for his Eldest Young Master's whereabouts.

The poor driver could only look blankly at him and reply confusedly, "I saw the CEO got into another car."

"Oh..." Secretary Cheng nodded absentmindedly, but after a few moments, the driver's words sunk in. "He got into another car?!"

Driver Shao nodded, "Yes. You even escor–"

But before he could finished his sentence, Secretary Cheng butted in. "WHAT?! What did you just say? CEO Xia got into another car?! Why did you not stop him?"

Driver Shao's brows were furrowed as he repeated what he was about to say earlier before he was cut off.

"You even escorted him into the other car, don't you remember? I thought that CEO Xia might have requested for another ride so I did not stop him."

Secretary Cheng almost puked blood when he heard this. How can you be so calm when the CEO might have been abducted?!

But Secretary Cheng could not refute that he had been negligent earlier in not ensuring the CEO's safety. So in a much calmer tone than before, he asked: "Did you get the plate number of the car? What model? Color? Did you see the driver?"

It was not that Secretary Cheng was exaggerating, it's just that this time was extremely crucial.

They needed to immediately find the CEO now that there were dangers everywhere. Someone out there might be lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right opportunity to strike.

It was just recently that a few important people in the business circle were targeted. Some of them were even hospitalized.

It already happened to CEO Xu and CEO Wang. They could not let it happen to their Eldest Young Master too.

. . .

Meanwhile, at the same parking lot.

'Where is she?! I was only delayed for a few minutes and she suddenly disappeared!'

Secretary Sun really wanted to pull at his hair right now. That woman didn't think of running away, did she?

If that happens, he didn't know how he would explain it to Master and Madam Wang.

Just as he was freaking out where he would start looking for her, Secretary Sun felt his phone vibrating.

The name 'Wang Rouxi' was flashing on the screen.

When he saw who was calling, he couldn't help but to release the breath he didn't realize he was holding.

"Miss Rouxi, where are you?" Secretary Sun asked lightly.

No matter how much he wanted to strangle her through the phone, of course he could not do that.

Besides, they needed her for a favor so he could only swallow his anger and probe her gently.

"Secretary Sun, I apologize for the short notice. Something came up so I had to go." The voice on the other end of the line was cold and devoid of emotion.

"Where ar–"

Hearing the beeping sound signalling the end of the phone call, Secretary Sun gritted his teeth.

'Did this Young Miss not know that if something happen to her, the Wang Empire Estates will be put in a tight position?!'

His Young Master Shenyun was already bedridden. The injuries he had acquired from THAT incident were so grievous that he had to stay confined in the hospital.

Their last hope was this woman. Taking the CEO position from his Young Master Shenyun, Wang Rouxi might hopefully be able to keep the company stabilize while they await the recuperation of their Young Master.

Crossing his fingers, Secretary Sun hoped that Miss Rouxi would be fine.

However, the worried secretary probably was not aware that the one thing that his new boss despised the most was tardiness.

Secretary Sun had lost track of time earlier as he was doing the task he had received from the Old Madam to work on.

If it was not for the sudden intrusion of that bellboy, he would not have realized that he was already late for thirty minutes.

He and Wang Rouxi had actually agreed to meet at Hao Hua half an hour ago. From there, they would go to the Wang's Imperial Residence together to meet with the Wang Family.

It was already generous of Wang Rouxi to wait for half an hour, when in fact, this punctual woman could not even wait for someone just for a minute.

She had her own principles.

One second late could get you killed.

So when Xia Jiannan asked to be sent home, Wang Rouxi immediately left, no longer having the patience to wait for Secretary Sun.
