Wang Rouxi stared at that perfectly-sculpted face, which was magnified due to their extreme closeness, indifference was reflected on her dark eyes.
With Xia Jiannan grabbing tightly onto her suit, Wang Rouxi could not move away.
Her body was twisted in an awkward angle and her right arm was bearing the weight of her whole upper body, but she didn't seem to mind that at all.
The moment Xia Jiannan's eyes fluttered open, the first thing that came into view was a pair of pitch-dark orbs that seemed to contain boundless mysteries that no other person could possibly fathom.
Xia Jiannan found himself lost in those endless pool of pitch-dark eyes, only coming back to his senses when the car had come to a screeching halt.
Unknowingly, he had loosened his grip on Wang Rouxi's suit.
Without a second thought, Wang Rouxi leaned away from him and alighted from the car.
Xia Jiannan took this time to reorganize his thoughts.
The moment Wang Rouxi opened the car door for him, Xia Jiannan was back to his usual self again.
"Sir, we are here."
Xia Jiannan gave a curt nod. He could not help but spare the person standing outside the car another glance.
Aside from Di Yi's somewhat familiar smile, Xia Jiannan was not able to see anything that resembles her.
'He is not her,' he reminded himself.
The "her" Xia Jiannan was thinking about was of course Wang Rouxi.
Obviously, he didn't believe that this Di Yi and his beautiful Rouxi were one and the same person.
Xia Jiannan got out of the car and walked towards his private elevator with confident strides.
. . .
Back inside the car.
Secretary Cheng could barely pull himself out of his seat!
His face was so pale that it seemed as though he was drained of all his blood.
If it wasn't for Di Yi's help, he would probably not be able to get out by himself.
"Can you stand by yourself?" Wang Rouxi, who was disguised as Di Yi, supported Secretary Cheng steadily.
Secretary Cheng only nodded at her as he could feel the bile rising in his throat.
Wang Rouxi was not convinced seeing the state he was in but she let go of him nonetheless.
With shaky steps, Secretary Cheng wobbled his way towards Xia Jiannan who was waiting for the elevator.
Di Yi and Di Er followed closely behind him, keeping watch in case he suddenly lose his footing.
It was then that Xia Jiannan noticed his secretary's weird and worrying expression.
"You don't look too well, Secretary Cheng." Xia Jiannan pointed out.
Secretary Cheng could only shook his head, afraid that if he opened his mouth, he might just throw up what he had eaten this morning right then and there.
Although he didn't know what happen to him, Xia Jiannan would not treat his people badly.
Employees are not disposable commodities. They should be treated like family. More importantly, Secretary Cheng had always been by Xia Jiannan's side as long as he could remember. He could be considered as his second parent already.
"Di Er, is it?" Xia Jiannan turned to Di Er almost immediately. "Bring Secretary Cheng to the infirmary."
Di Er's eyes narrowed as he stared at Xia Jiannan suspiciously. But as quickly as it appeared, that look on his face disappeared and was replaced with an expressionless one.
"I'll do as you say." Di Yi replied perfunctorily.
Excusing themselves, Di Er wordlessly brought Secretary Cheng to the infirmary without even asking for directions.
It seemed as though he knew the whole place like the back of his hand.
Staring at their departing backs for a while, Xia Jiannan then turned to Di Yi who standing beside him.
"Let's go."
Xia Jiannan went inside the elevator first and pressed the button to the top floor where his office was located.
When he looked up again, Xia Jiannan saw that Di Yi didn't budge on his spot, making him frown slightly.
But before he could ask, Di Yi stepped up and bowed to him. "I apologize, Mr. Xia but I can only accompany you 'til here. I am being recalled back to the Headquarters."
Not expecting him to say that, Xia Jiannan was a bit surprised but he still managed to remain his calm.
"Is that so?" Xia Jiannan mused. After a long silence, he said, "then buy me a bouquet of your favorite flowers when you get back."
