Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Portal Lv4
Upon hearing the words of the Ancient One, Alex furrowed his brows, contemplating his next destination.
The Ancient One had a point. Now that he had killed the Eternals, who were given a mission by the Celestials, he would undoubtedly attract the attention of these powerful beings.
Although he had achieved Skyfather-level power, he was still not a match for the Celestials.
No one knew when the Celestials would arrive. If he stayed in this universe, his power could potentially grow to the point where he could stand against them, or even defeat them. But that was uncertain—there was a chance they could arrive sooner than expected, and his strength might not be sufficient to oppose them. He could be at their mercy for judgment, and that uncertainty was something Alex could not accept.
He turned to the Ancient One and asked, "When will the Celestials come to Earth? How much time do I have?"
The Time Stone on the Ancient One's chest glowed faintly green before she replied, "You're safe for the next month, but after that, they could arrive at any moment. I suggest you leave before then and go to another universe."
A month...
After calculating, Alex realized a month would be more than enough time to upgrade his Portal skill to Lv4.
If he could get the portal to Lv4, he would have the ability to traverse different dimensions. With that, even when facing the Celestials, he would have options—he wouldn't be without an escape route.
Suddenly, Alex remembered something: in the comics, there is a universe that connects the DC Multiverse and the Marvel Multiverse. If such a universe truly existed, he might be able to use it to travel to the DC Multiverse.
In the DC Multiverse, there were also powerful artifacts filled with immense energy, like the Mother Boxes. If Alex could obtain those, he would have a new source of energy.
He had a feeling that if he encountered a powerful enough character template that surpassed the limits of a single universe, reaching the level of a multiversal entity, the energy from the Infinity Stones would become far less useful to him. He would need to seek out energy of a much higher level.
Thus, dimensional travel, or even crossing multiverses, would become very important!
A multitude of thoughts raced through Alex's mind as he formulated a rough plan for the future. However, these were all things that would happen later. For now, upgrading the Portal skill was his top priority.
Once the portal reached Lv4, he would have nothing to fear from the Celestials. Even if he failed, he could easily escape. He might even teleport directly to Stryker, the vile worm hiding in the shadows, and crush him with a single stomp!
Most importantly, Alex didn't want to just leave. Even if he couldn't defeat the Celestials, he intended to give them a "parting gift" before leaving. A portal capable of interdimensional travel would be his strongest backing!
Thanking the Ancient One and bidding her farewell, Alex returned to his seaside villa.
Though it was 500 kilometers from the battle zone with the Eternals, the seaside villa had still been affected.
Some seawater had flooded into the villa, leaving it damp, but with the help of several Hollywood starlets, the villa was quickly being restored to its former state.
Suddenly, his expression froze. Staring at the numerous bodies before him, he realized what had happened.
"You... killed all the Eternals on Earth?!"
Tony looked at Alex in disbelief, questioning him.
The Eternals, created by the Celestials, were incredibly powerful warriors, each with virtually infinite energy and the ability to survive in a vacuum. Even the weakest of them could easily destroy a small country.
Yet, these mighty beings had been killed so effortlessly by Alex!
He knew Alex was strong, but this was beyond belief!
After trading the bodies of the Eternals for an unlimited supply of Iron Man suits, Alex bid Tony farewell and continued his training.
Time passed quickly, with the days and nights blending together. While Alex was sunbathing, a different notification suddenly sounded in his mind:
[Portal Experience +1]
[Congratulations, your skill Portal has leveled up!]
A vast amount of information flooded into his mind, deepening his understanding of space and energy!
Moments later, when all the knowledge had been absorbed, Alex had fully mastered the Lv4 Portal!
[Portal Lv4 (1/5000): Consumes mana to open a portal to any location in any dimension/universe. Mana can be substituted with energy!]
Reading the Lv4 Portal description, Alex grinned. "Stryker, here I come!"
