Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Three Mother Boxes
Upon hearing Alex's smiling but seemingly kind reminder, Mera's expression drastically changed. Her face turned pale, clearly understanding the implication behind Alex's words, and she hastily asked:
"What are you planning to do?"
In contrast to Mera's panic, Alex continued to smile, but that handsome face was now deeply hated in Mera's eyes. Alex said slowly:
"Become my maid, or I'll destroy Xebel. You know I have the power to do so."
Mera's face turned even paler. Alex could easily destroy Atlantis, and he could just as easily wipe out the weaker Xebel.
Her whole body trembled as various thoughts raced through her mind. Finally, her body went limp, almost collapsing to the ground, as she reluctantly accepted the reality before her. Slowly, she said:
"I agree to become your maid... boss..."
However, Alex was clearly not satisfied with her response and softly hummed:
"Hmm?"
Mera remained silent for a moment before finally bowing respectfully to Alex, saying:
"Master~"
"That's more like it. Good girl~"
After subduing Mera, Alex reinforced the barrier within his pocket universe and placed the Infinite Energy Suit in the center of Paradise Island.
By using the barrier to channel sunlight from the outside world into the pocket universe, endless energy was generated by the device. However, since this energy was not stable or long-lasting, Alex did not incorporate it into the energy circulation of the pocket universe, instead reserving it for daily use on the island.
A full set of Infinite Energy Devices was more than enough to power an entire nation, making it more than sufficient to supply energy for Paradise Island.
A few days later, Alex continued to absorb energy and train his skills, during which the level of his Mirror Dimension skill improved.
[Mirror Dimension LV2 (1/300): Creates a temporary space dimension isolated from reality, where anything that happens will not affect the real world!]
Compared to LV1, the range of the Mirror Dimension at LV2 increased several times, now able to form a space around five kilometers wide.
Alex had high expectations for the Mirror Dimension. He wondered whether, when the skill surpassed LV3 and reached LV4, he might be able to create independent spaces, or even merge the skill with his pocket universe at higher levels to complete it and turn it into a true world.
As time passed, the template fusion progress continued steadily, reaching 67%. Once it hit 80%, Alex would unlock the final skill of Accelerator template—Abyss, which would surely bring a significant boost to his power.
Floating above Paradise Island on a small floating island, Alex finished his workout, drenched in sweat. Catwoman and Mera, who had joined him in the workout, were equally exhausted.
After a quick shower, Alex walked outside and opened a portal, instantly locking onto Cyborg's location.
In the past, Alex had been too busy perfecting his pocket universe to spare any time, and he hadn't immediately sought out Cyborg to obtain the third Mother Box, considering the potential danger of the three boxes merging. However, now that the barriers had been strengthened, Alex felt confident enough to control the Mother Boxes and prevent any fusion, making it the perfect time to retrieve the third one.
As he sliced through space, a portal instantly appeared, and a futuristic, high-tech room came into view in front of Alex.
Without hesitation, he stepped into the room.
The moment he entered, a blazing energy beam shot toward him at high speed. But facing this level of attack, Alex didn't even bother to activate his Infinity. The energy beam was instantly manipulated as it reached him, forming a small glowing point at his fingertips.
Without turning around, Alex sent the glowing point flying back. The compressed energy exploded with even greater force, directly sending the charging Cyborg flying.
Reaching out toward a nearby metal wall, Alex made a slight grasping motion. Under the immense gravitational pull, the Mother Box passed through the wall and landed in his hand.
Looking back, Alex saw Cyborg coming at him again, aiming an energy cannon at him while issuing a warning:
"Put the Mother Box down! It's dangerous—something you can't handle!"
Alex didn't waste words on Cyborg, continuing to walk toward him. His movement clearly triggered Cyborg's instincts, causing him to immediately try and fire a laser at Alex. However, just as he prepared to fire, he suddenly felt the gravity beneath him increase by tens of times. Overwhelmed by the crushing force, Cyborg collapsed to the ground.
Alex approached Cyborg and placed a hand on him, using his Six Eyes to analyze Cyborg's structure. After gathering all the necessary information, Alex felt slightly disappointed.
Cyborg had been created by the Mother Box, but the complexity of his body was only about one-third of that of the Mother Box. While still very powerful, it wasn't enough for Alex's purposes.
This realization led Alex to abandon the idea of using Cyborg as a humanoid energy source.
Crouching down, Alex smiled at Cyborg and said:
"Though the Mother Box isn't yours, I'll offer you something in return for keeping it safe. I can restore your original human body. Would you like that?"
"What?" Cyborg, originally known as Victor Stone, had been gravely injured in an accident and was on the verge of death before the Mother Box saved him, turning him into a half-human, half-machine cyborg.
For a long time, he had struggled with his identity, torn between being a machine and a human. The drastic change in his appearance had alienated him from society, leaving him isolated and confused, sinking into despair.
In the original story, Cyborg had no choice. But now, Alex was offering him a chance—a chance to become fully human again.
Cyborg stared blankly at the man before him. Just a few moments ago, a portal suddenly opened in front of him, triggering his systems to automatically launch an attack at the newcomer.
Just as he was worrying about the intruder, he suddenly noticed the incoming person easily defusing the attack and using the energy he released to knock him away.
Seeing the intruder take the Mother Box, he panicked because his father had warned him that the Mother Box was a crucial treasure tied to the survival of Earth and must not fall into anyone else's hands.
So, he merged his consciousness with the system's will, greatly enhancing his strength, and attacked the intruder. However, the intruder easily suppressed him without making any moves, which left him incredulous.
Especially now that the intruder said he could help him become human again, which shocked him even more. Was this real?
He instinctively asked, "Who are you?"
Alex didn't answer. For some reason, a lot of people seemed to ask him that same first question: "Who are you?"
Could they have coordinated this?
He said directly, "Hurry up, I don't have time. State your request. Do you want to become human?"
Prompted by Alex again, Cyborg finally reacted. After hesitating for a moment, he made a decision:
"I want to become human!"
Even though he had gained great strength now, he was disconnected from society. He could never forget the strange looks his friends had given him.
If he had a choice, he would much rather be human.
Don't be surprised; you're ruining Batman's mystique. You should know that the army of Batmen from across the multiverse is a force that strikes fear into every universe!"
Batman fell silent. Is Batman really that incredible?
Why do I get beaten up every day and only manage to fight back at the last minute?
Batman suddenly felt like a failure as a Batman. If he ever encountered any Batmen besides this Traveler Batman in the future, he wouldn't even have the nerve to talk about his past exploits.
Then, Batman suddenly thought of something and asked Alex,
"Traveler Batman, who is the strongest Batman in the multiverse that you know of?"
Alex paused and then slowly replied:
"There are many Batmen in the multiverse, but the strongest ones include White Lantern Batman, who obtained the White Lantern ring. The White Lantern ring embodies life itself, making him practically a god.
Then there's the Batman, God of Knowledge. He sits on the Mobius Chair, becoming the God of Knowledge with limitless power. He travels through time, repeatedly tormenting and killing Joe Chill, the man who murdered his parents.
And there's also the Evil God Batman, who became the Atmahn, the Night Judge. Alongside Superman and Wonder Woman, who also became evil gods, they conquered everything!"
Hearing Alex's words, Batman's eyes sparkled. He felt a sudden impulse. He wanted to become a stronger Batman, not just the inferior version who knew nothing.
Finally, he asked the Traveler Batman,
"What about you? What level are you?"
Alex was momentarily stunned by Batman's question. Since he was just pretending to be Batman, he had never really thought about it.
After a brief moment of reflection, he replied slowly:
"As for me, I'd probably rank in the top ten. But unlike other Batmen, I exist in a quantum superposition and can freely travel across parallel universes and other worlds.
So my potential is higher. Their limits are already set, but I can reach even greater heights, perhaps even surpassing the supreme god."
Batman was half-understanding, not knowing what quantum superposition meant, nor what the Supreme God represented. But he knew that the Batman beside him was definitely a special one—perhaps the most unique Batman of them all.
Using his powers of insight, Alex held back a smile as he sensed what Batman was thinking.
Of course he's the most unique one—because not only does he come from another universe, he's not even a real Batman, messing with this one was too funny to stop.
As they walked through the portal, Alex and Batman found themselves in a secluded warehouse, facing a maniacally laughing Joker and a Lex Luthor covered in symbiote. The portal had brought Alex to the area closest to them.
When the Joker saw Alex and Batman step out of the portal, he burst into laughter: "Ha ha ha ha ha... Two Batmen? Even more fun!"
But when he got a good look at Alex's face, the smile froze on his face, then twisted into something even more sinister.
"No, you're not Batman! Who are you?" He was enveloped by a sudden black mist, and one of his eyes glowed ominously blue as he snarled at Alex.
Batman, standing to the side, said,
"The Traveler Batman comes from another parallel universe..."
Before he could finish, Joker cut him off, "No! He's not Batman! He's a fraud! A pretender! Damn it, you filthy little bug! You've ruined my fun! I was expecting double the amusement!"
Alex understood what the Joker meant and couldn't help but admire the bond between Joker and Batman. With just one look, Joker could tell that he was faking being Batman.
Could Joker really have a Batman detector on him?
Before Alex could respond to the Joker's accusation, Batman gave Joker a disdainful look that Alex was all too familiar with, and said words Alex also knew all too well:
"Joker, your vision is too narrow. The multiverse is filled with endless possibilities. There are many Batmen beyond me.
Some of them are even stronger than gods."
Batman spoke with disdain toward Joker, but with a serious tone.
Despite the seriousness in his voice, Alex could still sense a hint of pride in his words.
Alex tried really hard to stifle the laughter that almost came out.
It was obvious that Batman had been repeatedly outwitted by Joker, even almost killed by him recently. Now that he had a chance to mock Joker, he wasn't going to let it slip.
He was really getting into it!
The Joker clearly didn't believe Batman's words, and let out a crazed laugh: "My little Bat, you've been deceived! No matter which universe we're in, I'll always be your sweetheart. We know each other's hearts. Even if it's a parallel universe version of you, I could easily tell!"
The Joker's heartfelt confession failed to move Batman. Instead, it filled him with revulsion. He charged straight at the Joker, shouting:
"We've never been friends! Not now, and not ever!"
The two clashed. Empowered by Alex's energy, Batman regained the strength he had when he defeated General Zod. Even against the Joker, who had gained the power of the Seven Deadly Sins, Batman held his own without faltering.
Alex watched the pair brawl like lovers in a heated argument, then turned to Lex Luthor and smiled at the wary man:
"Hurry up and create Doomsday already. I can't wait any longer."
Lex Luthor: "???"
Superman, who was lying at Lex's feet: "???"
This wasn't what they expected at all. They thought the Traveler Batman had come to stop Lex from creating Doomsday. But why was he urging Lex to create Doomsday?
And judging by his expression, he seemed even more excited about it than Lex.
