Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Ice Age
Through a combination of vector manipulation, energy absorption, and electromagnetic force control, with the added precision of the Six Eyes, Alex wielded complete mastery over the electromagnetic force. This allowed him to effortlessly replicate the signature move of Misaka Mikoto from the Toaru series, with power levels far beyond hers.
Black and red electrical energy sparked before Alex, forming a structured electromagnetic field that continually accelerated a coin. By the time it passed through the field, the coin had achieved an astonishing velocity, one that these so-called supernovas couldn't even perceive.
Just like the lightning spear earlier, the grass and soil before him were torn apart, creating a trench. The railgun shot hit Eustass Kid with devastating speed.
Seeing the electromagnetic field forming in front of Alex, Kid quickly recognized it as magnetism, though he was baffled. Wasn't there only supposed to be one Devil Fruit of each type?
How, then, was this white-haired man able to control magnetism? Moreover, it was immediately apparent that Alex's mastery of magnetism far exceeded Kid's, reaching terrifying levels.
Kid's eyes widened in shock as Alex released the railgun shot with a flick of his fingers, realizing that he'd been underutilizing his own powers this whole time. His expression then changed to one of panic—this shot was far more powerful than he'd expected. If he didn't brace himself, he might not survive.
Desperately, Kid used his abilities to form a metal shield, arranging weapons and armor into a thick, tightly bound wall of magnetized metal. Killer joined him, adding his strength to brace the shield, determined to help withstand the impending attack.
In an instant, the coin, crackling with intense electrical power, struck Kid's shield. But the high-speed railgun tore through it in less than a second, punching through the left side of Kid's body, obliterating his left arm before flying another few hundred meters. The coin, still cloaked in electromagnetic energy, melted away in the atmosphere, vanishing into thin air.
Only then did the force of the impact throw Kid and Killer backward, sending them tumbling dozens of meters before they fell, motionless.
Alex, with a mischievous grin, taunted, "I just saved you a couple of years. You were bound to lose that arm to Shanks anyway. A thank you would be nice."
Members of the Kid Pirates rushed to their captain and vice-captain, shouting as they examined their injuries.
"It's bad! Captain Kid's left arm is gone! Stop the bleeding—both captains are unconscious, with multiple broken bones. We need medical help immediately!"
Seeing Kid taken down in an instant, his left arm destroyed, the other supernovas looked at Alex with newfound fear, realizing the vast gulf between themselves and the true strength of the seas.
With Kid defeated, Alex extended his hand toward the direction where Basil Hawkins had fled, applying a focused gravitational pull that targeted Hawkins alone. Hawkins, unable to resist the overwhelming force, was dragged back against his will.
Once Hawkins was within reach, Alex struck him with a single punch. The dolls representing Hawkins' substitute lives tumbled from his body, and he fell unconscious. Opening a portal, Alex tossed Hawkins into his pocket universe, mumbling to himself.
"This guy's got a weak causal ability—if I can study it, I might be able to unlock some divination or life-substitution powers. Coming to this world was the right call. The power levels are lower, but the diversity of abilities can really enhance my arsenal and refine my pocket universe."
Seeing three of their ranks fall so quickly, the remaining supernovas finally grasped the gravity of the situation.
Scratchmen Apoo was the first to call out, "We need to take him down together! If we don't, he'll just pick us off one by one with that crazy pulling power!"
The other supernovas, realizing the gravity of the threat, agreed with Apoo's plan.
Apoo started the attack, using his body as an instrument, generating a strange energy aimed at Alex. Alex felt the unfamiliar energy encroaching but easily neutralized it by shaking his own energy.
Capone Bege stepped up, opening miniature doors across his body through which his men fired cannons at Alex.
X Drake, in his dinosaur form, lunged forward, attempting to bite Alex.
Against this formidable opponent, the supernovas held nothing back, unleashing their full powers.
Their combined attacks landed simultaneously, compressing the air and whipping up a fierce wind that stirred dust, obscuring Alex from view.
The supernovas retreated a safe distance, watching the dust cloud intently. Capone Bege took a long drag from his cigar and remarked cautiously, "With all of us attacking, even an admiral would take some damage. I think we may have taken care of that white-haired guy."
"Nope~," a lazy voice drifted from the smoke, causing the three supernovas' faces to fall. A figure slowly emerged, looking exactly as he had initially—untouched, not a single trace of dirt on his clothes.
As he stepped out, they realized what had happened. An invisible barrier had surrounded the man, isolating him from any external damage.
"How is this possible? What kind of power is this?"
"Why didn't my soundwave attacks work?"
"Could it be a Barrier Fruit, able to withstand hundreds of cannon blasts?"
The three supernovas were bewildered by the sight.
Naturally, Alex had no intention of explaining anything to these small-time troublemakers. He snapped his fingers lightly, unleashing an invisible slash that hit each supernova.
They instantly felt a piercing pain in their chests, and blood gushed from the wounds, the force nearly ripping their torsos open. They were left with no ability to resist.
"Agh!"
"What just happened?"
"Impossible! You couldn't have broken through my defenses!"
The bewildered supernovas looked up at the man approaching them, unable to comprehend what had happened. Capone Bege was especially stunned. His Castle Fruit granted him fortress-like defenses, and no one had ever breached it before.
Alex gave Capone a curious glance, then smirked.
"Every new generation thinks they're tough enough to challenge the Emperors, but you're all just frogs at the bottom of a well.
"The Fortress Fruit does give you formidable defenses, but there are far too many people on the seas who could break through it with ease..."
Seeing Capone's still disbelieving expression, Alex's interest waned. He opened a portal and tossed all three into it.
Alex used energy absorption to bind the Devil Fruit energy within Bonnie, then tossed her into his pocket universe, ignoring her further protests.
Finally, Alex turned to Trafalgar Law, who, with a resigned expression, held his cursed sword Kikoku, sighed deeply, and said, "No need to act. I'll go in myself."
With that, he calmly stepped through a portal and entered the pocket universe.
Alex nodded approvingly. "Smart choice."
With that, he had defeated and detained all the supernovas except for the Straw Hat crew.
Afterward, he turned toward them, only to see the entire crew take a step back in unison. He grinned, instantly understanding their thoughts. "Relax, I'm not going to go after you."
The Straw Hats collectively let out a sigh of relief. Judging from Alex's strength, they knew they'd stand no chance if he did attack. Their only sensible option would be to surrender as Law had done.
Nami clutched her chest, her heart still racing from the close call. She took a few deep breaths before saying, "We should leave now. Rayleigh won't be able to hold Kizaru off for long. If we stay, we'll be facing the Admirals and countless Marines."
Just then, Alex interjected, "Why not hide out in my world?"
Seeing the crew tense up again, he smiled and added, "Looks like another Admiral is on the way. We don't have much time to leave."
As Alex spoke, a lazy voice echoed from the distance, "Ice Age."
An immense wave of ice surged toward them, expanding rapidly. The mountainous ice collided with Alex's Infinity, producing a loud boom.
Moments later, everything around them turned frosty white. The entire Sabaody Archipelago had become an icy wasteland, with the colorful bubbles frozen into icy orbs, falling to the ground and shattering with crisp, echoing cracks.
Nami, shivering, looked around and sneezed. "What just happened?"
Zoro struck the surrounding ice with all his strength, but his blade barely left a scratch. His face grew serious. "This must be Admiral Aokiji's work. We fought him before, and he's got the Ice-Ice Fruit. He must have frozen the entire area. I tried to cut the ice, but it's too strong—we might be trapped here."
Sanji attempted to melt the ice walls around them with his fiery kicks, but the high temperature on his leg barely melted a small section. Turning to Alex, he said, "That's definitely the handiwork of an Admiral. This ice is almost as hard as steel!"
Seeing her three strongest comrades struggle, Nami looked to Alex. "Alex, can you do something?"
Alex nodded, smiling. "Of course."
He calmly walked forward, and as the Straw Hat crew watched in astonishment, the ice that had stumped Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji shattered effortlessly under Alex's steps.
Realizing just how vast the difference in strength between them and Alex was, the Straw Hats were left speechless.
As Alex continued, his Infinity expanded with him. It spread ten meters, then suddenly extended to hundreds of meters.
Under the pressure of his Infinity, the surrounding ice cracked and shattered, allowing the crew to see the numerous Marines surrounding them, with a tall, laid-back man standing at the forefront.
...
A few minutes earlier, Aokiji's Marine warship had finally arrived at Sabaody. Upon setting foot on the island, he used his Observation Haki to scan the area, but he was surprised to detect nothing of the notorious criminal who had killed the Celestial Dragons. Oddly, he saw the Straw Hat crew conversing with thin air.
As he got closer, he noticed the white-haired man by the crew's side and immediately recognized him as the wanted man, Alex.
Just as shocked as Rayleigh had been, Aokiji didn't waste time. He used his ultimate attack, Ice Age, attempting to freeze both Alex and the Straw Hats.
Seeing the group encased in ice, a nearby Marine captain praised, "As expected of Admiral Aokiji! No matter how many times I see it, it's always incredible."
Another lieutenant added, "Yeah, working with Admiral Aokiji makes things so easy. We didn't even get a chance to fight, and the notorious criminal who killed the Celestial Dragons has already been captured. Even the Straw Hats were frozen along with him!"
Despite the praise from his subordinates, Aokiji's expression remained serious as he stared at the ice. "No, I didn't freeze them. An invisible barrier blocked my power, creating an unfrozen space within the ice!"
"What?!" The officers gasped. Was there someone with the strength to resist even Admiral Aokiji's attacks among the Straw Hats?
Just then, Kizaru, having fended off Rayleigh, finally freed himself and shouted a warning to Aokiji.
"Aokiji, be careful! Use all your strength! The notorious criminal Alex has the ability to replicate Devil Fruit powers, and he's as strong as any of the Four Emperors!"
The Marines nearby couldn't believe their ears. "An Admiral-level criminal? How did such a powerful person suddenly appear on the seas?"
Kuzan kept his gaze on the ice, preparing to launch another attack, when a powerful shockwave erupted from within the ice, shattering the supposedly unbreakable barrier.
A similarly relaxed voice drifted out from within the ice.
"So, you're Aokiji, huh?"
