Chapter 114: Ch.113 Steel Bones
That's right, this is how Wolverine next door got stronger.
Su Ming could rely on his mind to control X-metal, thus avoiding the hassle of an Adamantium surgery. Now, he controlled this strange material, quickly replacing his bones on a level that was incomprehensible.
The process felt like corrosion, or maybe polishing. However, not understanding the principle didn't affect its future use.
X-metal, though called "metal," was actually a solid-state energy substance. There was no need to worry about the effects of magnetism or weight on his body, nor any requirement for high-tech equipment to greatly enhance his combat capabilities.
The Deathstroke himself was already a weapon, and strengthening himself was the most convenient option at present.
He already had a healing factor, but in the past, internal organs and bones healed more slowly and were influenced by his bloodthirsty emotions. Now, with his entire skeleton replaced with X-metal, his organs and brain would never be harmed again.
The transformation process was slightly different from what he imagined. Although Su Ming commanded it to replace the bones, it automatically avoided the nerves, but a continuous pain surged at the level of the soul. If he didn't have the doubled soul strength as a trump card, he would have fainted from exhaustion.
The energy contained in X-metal was too advanced, almost too much for his enhanced body to handle.
Fortunately, the transformation was quick. His original bones were expelled like ash from his wounds, sinking to the bottom of the X-metal pool. He had succeeded.
"Very good," he panted slightly for a few seconds, then slowly stood up from the pool, trying to move his limbs, even jumping on the spot.
X-metal didn't weigh anything, which meant he was actually lighter than before. He immediately felt as light as a feather.
There was still quite a bit of metal left in the small pool, but the others still needed it to fight Barbatos. He wasn't greedy, after all, he had already gained the greatest benefit.
Casually, he threw his greatsword into the pool, coating it in a layer of gold. The originally black greatsword now gleamed with new energy, resembling the starry sky filled with silver constellations.
After thinking for a moment, he also dipped a few grenades, turning them into silver grenades.
Lastly, he scooped up some X-metal with his hand and repaired the hole in his chest armor. Under the influence of his willpower, the color and shape became indistinguishable from the surrounding area.
In short, all he needed was to show the Justice League that he coated his greatsword with gold, made some weapons, and repaired his armor.
As for the enhancement of his own body, Su Ming didn't want the Justice League to know. Batman was too suspicious.
Thankfully, they must have listened to Su Ming's advice and left some X-metal as a backup power source.
So, the Justice League's next tactic was probably that the others would draw aggro while Wonder Woman dealt the killing blow? Did this mean Batman had finally realized the League needed to resort to lethal measures?
Su Ming nodded silently. If he were the one to devise the strategy, he'd plan it the same way.
Although he needed to test his new bones in real combat, it was best not to reveal that in front of Batman.
In any case, following the Justice League's lead couldn't be wrong. After surviving this global crisis, he could start the first step of a long-term plan.
While the Justice League was discussing their next move and Su Ming was doing his mental calculations, a fierce vibration suddenly came from above, as if a volcano was about to erupt.
Su Ming looked up.
He saw the sky was torn apart.
Yes, literally torn apart. What had appeared to be the dark starry expanse of the cosmos now had a massive gash, revealing a city on the other side.
However, from where they stood, the city was upside down.
Bruce recognized it immediately. That was Gotham. He had seen the city from above countless times, but never from this angle.
This meant that the Bloodfield had broken, and the Light Multiverse was drawing closer to the Dark Multiverse. Once they collided, everything would be over.
"Damn it, Constantine! You said with the Bat-gold, it could hold for three days! Only three hours have passed!"
Su Ming felt a sudden headache. He knew that guy was unreliable, and mentally marked Constantine for payback.
The original plan had to change.
The worlds were merging faster than expected. Was the only option now to head straight for Barbatos and knock down the Cosmic Tuning Fork?
As Su Ming was contemplating the plan, a strong gust of wind hit from behind.
Turning around, he saw a massive shadow, about fifty to sixty meters tall, appearing behind them. The pressure from its landing made it hard for Su Ming to breathe.
