Chapter 252: Ch.251 Never-ending
Among this new group of people that appeared, Su Ming only recognized Cable and Domino. After all, they were the most distinctive. As for the others, Su Ming wasn't sure who they were.
But seeing them all moving as a group, he guessed that they must be from another squad organized by Deadpool—X-Force. Based on the comics, the others were probably Shatterstar, Feral, Warpath, and Boom-Boom.
All mutants.
Thanos didn't snap his fingers very well, huh? Half the Avengers turned to dust, but almost all of Deadpool's crew is still intact.
If Spider-Man hadn't joined the Avengers but had hung out with the mutants, maybe he wouldn't have been affected either.
Thinking of this, Su Ming slapped his forehead. He understood now—it wasn't just that these people were Deadpool's teammates, the key was that they were Domino's teammates.
How could anyone die when they're that lucky?
Cable casually grabbed some food from the table and stuffed it into his mouth. After chewing a bit, his expression turned odd as he used his tongue to dislodge the food stuck in his teeth: "What were Wade and you all doing here? Did he come here just to eat?"
Su Ming then explained the situation with Namor, emphasizing the dangers of altering the timeline.
Being from the 39th century, Cable naturally understood the potential risks of changing the timeline. He immediately became serious: "Give me a copy of the map. Since there's trouble here, I'll help out. We'll meet back here in two months."
Good, he managed to rope in another group. Though they came here with Domino to find Deadpool, time was tight and the mission was urgent. Su Ming planned to put them to use.
Cable and the others wanted to sit down and chat for a bit, maybe eat something, but Domino had a bad feeling. She wanted to find Wade as soon as possible.
So after briefly introducing themselves and having a round of drinks, they left.
Watching them leave the restaurant, Holoway rubbed his small mustache with his thumb: "First it was Agency X, now it's X-Force. Can't anyone leave the mutants alone?"
Deadpool's constant chatter over the past few days had already introduced Holoway to a lot about mutants, making him sympathetic to their situation.
Of course, not towards someone like Mister Sinister, but rather towards the innocent mutants.
The figure materialized into a woman standing before Su Ming: "Have you seen your cousin Wade, my sweetie?"
The smile slowly disappeared from Su Ming's face. Who else could it be but Vanessa? She looked exactly like she did in the movie, didn't she?
And she wasn't alone. Behind her was a team of women, easily recognizable by the uniforms they wore—each with a large X symbol in a circle on their chest.
This was the X-Men.
Should he mess with Wade a little? Tell Vanessa that Wade was off having a threesome? With Outlaw and Domino, no less?
Wade had recently said that Vanessa had been acting mysterious, disappearing all the time. Turns out she was off training with the X-Men.
Vanessa was also a mutant, codenamed Copycat. You could think of her as an upgraded version of Mystique. When she had prolonged contact with someone, she could not only mimic their appearance and behavior but also replicate their powers.
For example, she could turn into Wade and gain his healing factor. If she became Magneto, she would gain magnetic abilities.
However, her ability had limits. If she turned into Jean Grey, she wouldn't have the Phoenix Force because that power came from an external source. And if she became Doctor Strange, she wouldn't be able to cast spells—she didn't have the talent for magic.
Any abilities not tied to genes were beyond her reach. Even the powers she could mimic were slightly weaker than the original.
But that was already incredibly strong, making her not only a natural-born spy but also a formidable combatant when mimicking powerful beings.
"Vanessa, why are you here? Is 1942 really that fun?"
Su Ming felt mentally exhausted—more so than after his fight with Mister Sinister. Deadpool's women kept popping out of nowhere, and the three members of the Mustache Alliance felt like they'd been hit with repeated critical strikes.
"When I got home and found Wade missing, I got worried. It's because of that whole Thanos thing... So I asked for help. Bishop and Shadowcat helped us locate this place, and I brought a few friends with me. If Wade is in trouble, we're ready to fight."
"Oh?" Su Ming stroked his chin, eyeing the women: "Wade's not in any trouble, but the world is. Want to hear about it?"
Since they'd come knocking and interrupted his drinking, Su Ming figured he might as well make use of the situation. You can't let opportunities like this slip by!
