Chapter 301: Ch.300 Vanished

The smell of gunpowder still lingered in the office, as the headless body of the Blue Glove slowly collapsed. Kang, however, anxiously watched Su Ming's single-lens visor, awaiting his response.

"So, how about it? A whole world, just if you help me take down Apocalypse."

Su Ming sighed, then nodded. "Actually, that's not Apocalypse out there. It's a shape-shifting mutant I brought along to scare you. If you don't believe me, take a closer look yourself. You should be able to spot the truth."

Su Ming walked over to the window, using his armored arm to clear away some of the shattered glass, gesturing for Conqueror Kang to come and see for himself.

Kang hesitated, uncertain. He didn't think much of mutant powers, knowing little about them.

But he was aware that in the future, there were mutants who could mimic others, like Mystique and Mimic.

If it wasn't really Apocalypse...

Then why had he wasted time with all those words earlier? He could handle Deathstroke on his own.

He had invested a lot early on, but he hadn't put all his chips on Deathstroke. He had made investments in many other renowned figures throughout this world as well.

Money was a meaningless thing to him.

The Conqueror smiled, nodding, and stepped towards the window, one hand reaching behind his back, slowly moving toward his time gun.

"A whole world—still on the table?"

"Of course. I am the King of Kings. My word is always good."

"Heh heh heh."

"Hahaha."

The two stood by the window, exchanging fake smiles, both harboring ulterior motives.

But in the end, Su Ming came out on top.

To be sure it wasn't Apocalypse down below, the Conqueror had to look for himself—Apocalypse was a terror buried deep in his psyche.

Meanwhile, Deadpool had somehow found a table, draped it with a white cloth, and set a bottle of water and a microphone on it, pretending to be a commentator.

"Dear viewers, our match just hit the 15-second mark. We saw Apocalypse use a Force Choke to immobilize Conqueror Kang, leading to a stalemate as they exchanged words... Wait, Kang suddenly vanished! No one saw where he went, but with my experience commentating countless battles, I'd say Kang used some kind of phase-shift ability."

Apocalypse nodded slightly, hearing Deadpool's commentary. Phase-shifting? He knew how to handle that.

As an all-powerful mutant, Apocalypse had time manipulation and phase abilities, even if he didn't often use them. But if an enemy used them, he could counter.

Rolling his eyes back, Apocalypse disappeared from sight as well.

"Uh, now both of our contenders have left the stage... What does this mean? Well, folks, we'll take a short intermission. The match will resume... whenever they return!"

Deadpool scratched his head awkwardly, unsure of what to say with both combatants gone. Frustrated, he kicked over the table, lifted his mask halfway, and walked over to Cable, sipping water.

"Huh? Where did they go?"

Su Ming had acted quickly, destroying the androids and devices in just a couple of minutes.

But when he returned, all he found was Apocalypse's lingering purple barrier and his companions inside, looking bored.

Outside, countless German soldiers fired wildly at them. Su Ming rolled to dodge the attacks and slipped inside the protective field.

The soldiers' eyes were bloodshot. These intruders had assaulted the Reich Chancellery, and they had no idea about the fate of their great leader. There was no way they'd let them escape alive.

Now, the group was like mice trapped under a lid, with thousands outside pounding on the pot.

"Apocalypse and Kang are both gone. They just phase-shifted," Cable reported concisely before Deadpool could interrupt.

Deadpool shot Cable a resentful look, having prepared an emotional speech to impress his cousin.

"Well, just like Thanos said, they vanished. Poof!" Wade gestured animatedly, describing what had happened. "So, what's the plan now, bro? Your gray-skinned buddy left us behind."

Su Ming looked up, watching countless attacks crash against the barrier, exploding into a rainbow of colors. Numerous massive mechs and semi-cybernetic soldiers were steadily closing in.

They would soon realize that the shield only blocked objects moving above a certain speed.

When that happened, it wouldn't be long before they were overwhelmed by sheer numbers. And not everyone here could cut a bloody path through like Deathstroke could.
