Chapter 305: Ch.304 Eve of Final Battle

Seeing that Cable seemed to understand, Su Ming didn't explain further. Apocalypse had already slept for over a hundred years, and now he definitely wouldn't be able to sleep again. Any more sleep might lead to complete withdrawal from the world.

He was likely exploring the Conqueror's office, sitting in the chair that Kang once occupied, contemplating life. Back in the day, it was a pharaoh's throne, and now it was just a new seat.

The basement, while hidden, wasn't the best place for a conversation. When the time came, they would follow the plan.

"By the way, you didn't answer me earlier—is the bracelet only useful because of the gem?" Su Ming raised the damaged time-space bracelet in his hand.

"It seems so. This gem is very special, and the bracer is just made of gold—it's only valuable as a commodity."

"That's good, then."

Su Ming flicked his cigarette butt into Blue Glove's mouth, removed his Godslayer from his belt, and transformed it into a small dagger. Carefully, he pried the gem out.

"So this is the thing that lets people travel through space? It doesn't seem all that special."

Su Ming tossed the gem lightly in his hand. It was quite large—about ten centimeters long and four centimeters wide in a semi-oval shape—making it seem almost unreal, like a chunk of glass.

"It's a piece of technology; what sort of feeling were you expecting?" Cable replied, watching him with exasperation. A dead battery on a phone makes it no better than a brick, and this device, freshly detached from the armor, no longer had any power supply.

"It needs energy? Well, that's easy."

Su Ming removed his armguard and nudged Stranglehold away from his left forearm, exposing his skin.

Without hesitation, he used the Godslayer to cut into his arm, slicing deep enough to expose the bone, blood gushing out immediately. He didn't flinch.

Grabbing the gem, he pressed it into the wound, using X-metal to secure it in place.

Su Ming flexed his arm, adjusting to the feeling of the muscle being stretched apart. It was uncomfortable, but it wouldn't impact his combat ability once he got used to it.

X-metal provided a constant energy supply, and most of the time, it could be controlled with his thoughts, making it one of Su Ming's trump cards.

As his healing factor sealed the wound, the gem was gradually enveloped by his regenerating flesh, eventually disappearing beneath the skin.

"All right, what's next?"

Su Ming casually found an office, pulled over a couch, and lay down to think about his future plans.

In the distance, he thought he heard Wade's screams mixed with the laughter of some women.

The next morning, Su Ming awoke to the morning light, with German soldiers still shouting orders through their loudspeakers outside. The general message was about surrendering their "demonic" leaders or something to that effect.

Su Ming lit a cigarette, ate some of the rations he carried with him, and put on his helmet, calling everyone together for a briefing.

He laid out the plan he had discussed with Cable the night before.

"Will this really work?" Domino asked, a skeptical look on her face, while Deadpool stood beside her, nursing his sore back.

"As long as Wade plays his part, this plan will succeed," Su Ming said calmly. Deadpool's role was the most critical, as he needed to distract Apocalypse for a short time.

"And what about the mutants in this era? They're still suffering," Rogue pressed, her focus on helping those oppressed.

"I'll keep an eye on their situation. Those who don't deserve death won't be harmed," Su Ming replied steadily, glancing at her distinctive white hair streak and her fair face.

The others—Domino and Vanessa—didn't have much to add. They were mostly there to keep an eye on Vanessa's interactions with Wade, and now that the spectacle was over, it was time to head back.

Mystique, however, was worried about Rogue. "If Rogue is going to use her powers, make sure she doesn't push beyond her limits. She can't go directly against Apocalypse."

"Don't worry, I've got it under control," Su Ming nodded. "When you return, just tell Jean Grey that Cable is in danger."

Mystique nodded, her headpiece barely moving, and she earnestly agreed. Then she glanced at Su Ming again before using her abilities to communicate with Bishop in the future.

In an instant, all three women, except for Rogue, vanished from the room like phantoms.

Su Ming turned his attention to Deadpool and the women around him. They were treating their goodbyes like it was some tragic farewell, taking turns to stand in front of Wade and speak to him at length.

It was exhausting.

"The rest of you take a detour. I'll trick Apocalypse into taking us to Egypt, and you can find Modi and Weasel there, then head back to the future. Also, inform Dr. Halloway to wait for me near the governor's mansion in Cairo—I'll pick him up afterward."

Su Ming rubbed his forehead, issuing instructions in a low voice.

Everyone nodded—they all knew that the final battle was imminent.
