Chapter 401: Ch.400 Heaven Attacks
It is said that it took seven days to create the world, but Luthor believed he could move faster.
"Cheeta and Black Manta, proceed according to the plan. It's time for the third day of Genesis."
Black Manta put on his large, oval helmet, his eyes flashing red light. "Let's go. My submarine has arrived."
The two left the cave, executing Luthor's plan. Luthor had made preparations—none of Batman's methods would be able to detect their presence.
Luthor put away the "doorknob" and drummed his fingers rhythmically on the armrest of the sofa. He turned back to Circe.
"Come with us. Once Hecate's power is fully concentrated in you, our magical force will surpass that of the Justice League."
Circe smiled. She had waited for this day for far too long. Thousands of boring years had passed, and she could finally witness the true meaning of witchcraft.
No, not just witness it, but become the magic itself.
"Aren't you worried that the alternate-world Su Ming will ruin your plans?" Circe was still a little uneasy. That Su Ming was someone who didn't follow the rules, which meant a lot of uncertainties.
Luthor shook his head at the witch with a smile. "No, he's an outsider, free to come and go. He has no reason to oppose me to the end. Do you play video games?"
Circe looked confused, not understanding why Luthor suddenly brought that up.
Although she was from an earlier era, she wasn't some old-fashioned conservative. She rarely used computers or phones, but out of curiosity, she had played a few games.
Seeing her nod, Luthor led her and the Joker toward the cave exit. The Joker, however, was obviously distracted, talking to the plastic flower on his chest.
Luthor didn't care. No one could control the Joker. He joined the Legion of Doom simply to see Batman in pain.
"The game I play is a simulation management game. The one he's playing is a role-playing game. While I build cities and planets, change the values of residents, and shift the direction of civilization, he rummages through villagers' storage lockers and wardrobes for his own benefit. He's walking the path of transcendence."
"Then he will try to surpass you," Circe said coldly, her impression of that man being negative. "He has too many unknown factors."
"No, because this isn't a real game. He can enjoy the fun of looting without facing the final boss. He just needs to leave." Luthor turned to look at her, his eyes devoid of any emotion. "Your unknowns are not unknowns to me."
The Joker suddenly clapped, pulling at his hair and letting out his piercing laugh. "Hehehehehe, well said, my dear Lex. Now tell me, did Batman cry in the future? Did he feel pain?"
Luthor gave the Joker a sidelong glance and led them onto his invisible aircraft. This was true optical camouflage technology, not the strange kind of invisibility used by Wonder Woman's aircraft.
So the angel's archaic commands were like the wind blowing past their ears.
"Sorry, go back and tell your boss—Deathstroke doesn't like being ordered around."
The Twilight Sword left its scabbard. With a single draw-slash, the angel hovering outside their shield was sliced in half.
"Hmm, I thought angels were made of light, but it turns out they actually have organs."
Watching these angelic pieces hit the shield and evaporate from the magic, Su Ming had the sudden urge to add some cumin.
Angels were clean inside—since they didn't eat, there was no waste material either.
Their organs were created just for show, so not only was their flesh tender, but even the smell of roasting their organs was pure, just the aroma of meat.
Was Lucifer's rebellion against Heaven just to have a barbecue?
Donna looked on with some disdain. As an Amazon, she was well-versed in killing, but slicing someone clean in half was a bit much.
Amazon combat techniques emphasized group coordination and agility, while this heavy, vertical cleave seemed more like a Nordic style.
But you couldn't blame Su Ming. Who told a sexless being to float naked in front of him, staring with glowing eyes?
It was just too tempting not to take a swing.
The opponent had no armor, so naturally, it was necessary to test the defense strength of skin, muscle, and bone.
With one strike, he got all the data he needed.
These low-ranking angels were stronger than average demons, and by extrapolation, named angels should see their power increase exponentially.
After all, Lucifer, the former archangel, along with Gabriel and Michael—those archangels were known quantities, representing the highest tier in the DC universe.
But angelic power came from Heaven, and now it looked like there was something wrong with Heaven.
