"Miss, if you can't pay the rent by tomorrow evening, then I am sorry but you will have to move out," came the landlord's voice.
'Just when I thought nothing else could go wrong' Wan Jia thought.
However, the devil seemed to really like messing with her
"But if you can pay the right price then I'll not only let you live here, I'll also give you a well-paying job.
'I've heard that statement so many times, my ears are about to get calluses' she sneered inwardly.
What right price? That old pervert was obviously trying to make her pay with her body. What well-paying job? To work in his bar as an escort?'
'Tsk, can't even let go of a young girl, how shameless. May lightning strike you.' she cursed inwardly.
Wan Jia grunted as a response to the landlord before running back to the house. If she hadn't been desperate for a place to live she definitely would never have had to stay in this torturous apartment. She had only lived here for barely a month while trying to find a source of employment. Previously, she had tried to find a cheap place to stay with no avail, no house would fit the little amount of money she had, after all she was a nineteen year old girl who had unexpectedly been abandoned by her parents, only leaving her with money which obviously would not sustain her for long.
She had stayed at an extravagant hotel for a few days hoping her father would change his mind and come back for her. Only now did she realize just how naive she had been.
Not long after, she had to find an apartment: she was running out of money and would not afford any luxury. She had almost given up when she met Landlord Wen who pitied her and even let her use the little money she had for her daily needs, she would pay the rent once she got a job. Who would have thought the old pervert only wanted an excuse to take advantage of the beautiful Wan Jia?
Stopping her train of thoughts, she took out a letter she had received two days ago from an anonymous sender. [He Wan Jia, I know your situation. Meet me at Provence Cafe on Friday noon, table number 8. I can change your life for the better.] It was currently Friday, one hour to noon. She had to make a decision quickly.
Should she go or not? Should she trust this anonymous person? Provence cafe was fairly busy and he would not do anything to her in public, right? However how does this person even know her surname which no one in C city knew?
After pondering for a while, she quickly changed into something more presentable and left for the cafe.
She had just arrived at the cafe and taken a glance in the direction of table 8 when her eyes grew wide like copper bells. The beautiful girl with very long hair sitting at the table was like a mirror reflection of her. Same eyes, same nose, same lips...everything including the fair skin! Despite Wan Jia's eyes looking a little tired, they were also just like the strange girl's.
Her first reaction was to rush up to her.
"Are we twins?"
