Chapter 130 - The one who just croaked is a frog

"But beauty, it's just a meal. Also, I can't stop calling you 'beauty' because that's what you are."

"I only have meals with my husband and he doesn't need your lousy meals! Get out of my way!" she growled.

"Promise to have a meal with me and I'll let you go." He was shamelessly taking advantage of her discomfort.

However, Guo Haisheng's persistence was too irritating. In the end, she had to promise to have a meal with him on another day before he let her go.

"Huh, some women are just too much! You really think you can marry into the Lu family?" the woman scoffed. She had oveheard their conversation.

Wan Jia ignored her and made to leave, but the woman held her hand.

"What do you want?" Wan Jia was in a bad mood after having to deal with Guo Haisheng and was not about to tolerate some foul mouthed woman.

"What would I want from you? Do you think that with your fake face and body, you can sleep around with all the reputable men in the country?"

What was wrong with this woman? Had they ever met? Wan Jia wondered.

"Not all men fall for cheap women like you! Just because you're slightly good looking doesn't mean you can seduce everyone!" the woman sneered.

Wan Jia was not intending to retaliate but this woman was just too insulting. She turned around and asked while looking at her green dress, "Oh? If they don't fall for slightly good looking women like me, who do they fall for? Frogs?"

"You..! Who did you just say was a frog?"

"The one who just croaked."

Lu Aotian waited for Wan Jia for so long that he started wondering if she was alright. Why did she take so long? Did she run into some trouble?

She had left her phone on the table, he would have called her. Just as he was about to stand and go find her, she walked in.

Since it was a private room and no one else was around, she casually went to him and sat on his lap.

"Aotian, I met a despicable bastard." she complained.

He held her gently and whispered in her ear. "What did you call me?"

"Husband. Husband, I've been bullied. You must get justice for me." she sulked.

"Who bullied you? How dare they bully my beautiful love?"

"Guo Haisheng, the deputy CEO of Climax Studio. He made me promise to have a meal with him."

Lu Aotian's expression turned scary.

"Husband, don't look at me like that. I'll get scared." she pursed her lips like a little girl. Even her mannerisms were like those of Little Jia when she threw a tantrum.

"Mmh, I won't." he asked the waitress to bring in the meals before personally feeding her.

Just like that, the date was not as perfect as it should have been. However, what mattered to them was being together, they were still very happy.

Like on their first date, they spent the night at Lu Aotian's North side villa.

Once they were home the next morning, the couple went to discuss something with Lu Shaoting who had stayed over to take care of Little Jia. Despite the many nannies in the house, they always called Lu Shaoting over to stay with her if they were going to be away for longer than usual.

Lu Shaoting acted blind to his brother and sister-in-law's affection and spoke about his findings and suggestions.

"Bro, I could not find out what exactly Yun Jifeng is trying to do. He doesn't seem to have told anyone about it."

"What about that woman?" Lu Aotian asked, reffering to Yun Jifeng's mother.

"The last call they shared was the one after Yun Xuan's dinner."

Lu Shaoting had hacked into Yun Jifeng's phone and all sorts of communication on that phone would reach him. However, that man was just too sly. He rarely used his phone and they guessed that most of his dirty deeds were done through a third party.

"He hasn't talked to General Yun lately either." Lu Aotian said.

"What if he doesn't have any evil intention?" Wan Jia, who had been silently listening to their exchange of complicated information, asked.

The brothers had allowed her to be present in their meeting because this matter was directly related to her. As the target victim, it would be hard to convince her of the other party's intentions if she was kept in the dark.

"He does have dirty deeds and evil intentions." Lu Aotian said.

"Then there's only one way to find out what his plan is." she said.

Lu Shaoting: "Are you trying to say that..."

Wan Jia nodded.

"No way!" Lu Aotian exclaimed.

"But there's no other way. If he's given too much time then he might strike before you know it." she said.

Lu Aotian and Lu Shaoting looked at each other. She did have a point, if they delayed any further, they would give him time to execute his scheme. But how could Lu Aotian let his woman walk into danger?
