Chapter 152 - I'm Lin Lihua, I answer to no one

Well, the truth was her manager had shown her very beautiful and elegant gowns. She was just being so paranoid that she did not even spare them a single glance and simply dismissed them.

Wan Jia looked at her speechlessly. She was a very influential actress with a high status and powerful background. How could she not find a suitable gown? She should just admit that she had been so blinded by the ones she chose for her that her eyes found every other piece too ordinary.

"Sis Lihua, I'll help you. You will definitely be the most beautiful woman tomorrow." she promised.

Lin Lihua became cheerful and hugged her abruptly. "Thank you so much Little Wan. You're a life saver. Right, you said that you had something you need me for?"

Wan Jia looked down in embarassment. "Yes, Sis Lihua...before you became an actress, you were a model, right?"

Lin Lihua raised an eyebrow curiously. "Yes, what about it? Does designer Wan want me to wear her clothes? I would be very glad to do that."

Wan Jia was once again rendered speechless. "That would be awesome! However, that's not what I had in mind." she peeked at Lin Lihua shyly. "I was hoping you would teach me how to walk on the runway. I would like to wear my own top dress."

Lin Lihua chuckled. "Why are you being so shy? Aren't we friends? Look at you, all red with embarassment."

How could she not be embarassed? She knew that Lin Lihua did not have too much time to spare lately. She was afraid she would bother her.

Lin Lihua looked upset. "I was hoping my Little Wan would ask me to do the opening or closing but..."

"You can do that?" she shot her eyes open.

"Why not? As your friend",...she paused and filled in her mind, 'and elder sister'... "how could I not show my support?"

"But you belong to Qing Tai Media. Won't you get in trouble with your management company?" she was worried. As an actress of Qing Tai Media, would it not be troublesome if she went to support an outsider? Especially since that outsider is at loggerheads with Qing Tai Media and also belongs to a rival company?

Lin Lihua simply chuckled as if Wan Jia had cracked a silly joke. "Please Little Wan, I'm Lin Lihua. I answer to one."

What an arrogant answer. Well, she was right. Even the CEO of Qing Tai Media respected her and would not dare to offend her.

"Then I'll have to trouble you twice, Sis Lihua."

"Okay, I'll send you my schedule but you have to pay a fee."

"What fee?"

"You have to let me play with your baby." she smiled, as if afraid Wan Jia would say no.

"That's easy. Little Jia also likes you. But Sis Lihua, will you come over to my place? Little Jia's security cannot be compromised. She can only come to your place in Aotian's presence." Wan Jia was inwardly praising her daughter. She was so adorable that her Sis Lihua wanted to play with her again. Amazing, my baby!

"I don't mind. I'll come over." They remained silent for a while as Lin Lihua contemplated before asking. "Little Wan, how come your daughter shares the same name with you? Is it because she takes after you?"

Lin Lihua was not sure she was going to answer this because she knew it might be personal.

Wan Jia explained. "I told you about how I acted as Yun Xuan's substitue, didn't I?"

Lin Lihua nodded attentively and Wan Jia continued. "I married Aotian as Yun Xuan then Little Jia happened. At the time, we were divorced because of some misunderstandings and he thought we would never get back together, so he named her after me."

"So that's her official name?"

"Nope. Her name is Lu Meili. Little Jia is just her nickname."

"Wait, he didn't know that you were Yun Xuan? Did you divorce because he found out?"

Wan Jia did not want to tell her the real reason so she nodded. "We got back together when Little Jia was three."

"Interesting..." Lin Lihua smirked when Wan Jia was not noticing.

She had only taken note of one fact. Wan Jia married Lu Aotian while pretending to be Yun Xuan. Did that mean that if Wan Jia did not act as Yun Xuan, Lu Aotian would have be married to Yun Xuan?

A few days later, Lin Lihua was cheerful as she baked cookies in her parents' house.

"What's the occassion?" Xia Rou asked as she walked into the kitchen. Lin Lihua seemed to be in a very good mood. She hummed as she wore thick kitchen mittens and took a tray out of the oven. Cute cookies on the shape of kitten heads appeared in view.

"Who did you bake those cute cookies for?" Xia Rou asked as she looked at the beautiful little things.

"They are for Little Jia. I'm going over to Little Wan's house today."

"She will really love them." Xia Rou said.

Lin Lihua of course noticed the envy in her mother's tone and laughed. "Mom, I'll have Little Jia go to my apartment, then you can come over and meet her. She is so friendly, I'm sure she will love you."

Xia Rou smiled from ear to ear and hugged her daugher. She had been hoping for that! "Lihua, you are so thoughtful. Will Little Wan be comfortable with that?"

"Of course I'll have to ask for her permission first."
