The CEO was shocked when the men dramatically made their way into his office. Couldn't they at least show some respect?
"Who are you?" he bellowed at them.
A lawyer spoke up, "Your company had been accused of stealing a costume from Elite Fashion World."
He became angry. "Are you guys crazy? Why would my Climax Studios steal, huh? We already have outstandingly talented designers. Why would we steal a costume?"
The lawyer showed him the post using his phone. "Then I wonder what this means?"
He squinted his eyes. "This...was the newest attire made by our designer J. I even praised him for his good work."
"I'm sorry to inform you that your dear J stole from our Wan Jia."
Furious, the man summoned J to his office. He was not going to take the blame for something he did not know.
The man trembled when he saw the police and lawyers. He would be an idiot if he did not understand the situation. "C-CEO, I didn't mean to do it. I just recieved a draft and made it mine. I didn't steal anything!"
"Didn't steal anything?" the lawyer sneered sarcastically. "Our Designer Wan would be accused instead if we did not find out the truth this early. You took her work for yourself and think this is not theft?"
A police officer was attracted to something else. "Who gave you the draft?"
The man was scared so he spoke. "Vice CEO Guo."
"Haisheng?" the CEO was surprised. What did his brother have to do with this?
Lu Aotian had chosen the most humiliating method of dealing with them. After confirming that Guo Haisheng was indeed involved, the police officers handcuffed both him and the designer and dragged them out of the building amid the stares from the employees.
When the company took down the post and they later saw the same outfit on Elite Fashion World's page, it became very clear what was going on.
Wan Jia was amused when she read the article. Was it really necessary to call them a studio that ran out of talent and resorted to stealing from their rivals?
...
"Who do you think was behind this?" she asked Lu Aotian that night.
Lu Aotian stroked her hair. "Not someone who should make you worried."
She still wanted to know. "Someone who wants to soil my name? After all, one person plagiarizing a studio is more believable than vice versa."
Lu Aotian hugged her closer. "I said it's not someone who should worry you. But since you want to know so stubbornly, it's not someone who is trying to get to you. He is trying to get to Lu Enterprises."
He had to admit that that person really knew a thing or two about great timing. Just when Elite Fashion World had a new talent, he wanted to destroy her before she even becale famous. Wouldn't that drag the whole of Elite Fashion World down?
He was indeed right, because not even three days passed yet when YX Brand released another of Wan Jia's dresses before she was done with the drafts. To put it simply, she had just sketched it incompletely when it was copied and produced very fast. It was one thing for YX Brand to do that but did Qing Tai Media have to do the same?
Wan Jia was furious when she went to Elite Fashion World in the morning. Although Lu Aotian had promised to deal with them, it would have a very negative impact on her career if she kept getting into weird cases with other studios.
In fact, that morning, she had already seen a very eye catching headline in a certain weekly magazine [Elite Fashion World is a bunch of plagiarizers.]
It was not uncommon for people to know the names of designers. Why did they specifically mention Elite Fashion World?
Wan Jia furiously banged the door to her office open and glared at Su Ling and Lili who she had called over.
One had to know that Wan Jia was usually very gentle and almost never lost her temper. This time, she was so angry that she could easily kill someone.
"Su Ling, Lili, explain this!"
She slammed the magazine in front of them.
The girls trembled and took it to see.
"Boss..." Lili looked at her innocently.
Wan Jia glared at her. "You just shut up." then she turned to Su Ling. "Here I was, thinking that Miss Su has changed and only wanted a job. What can a thief like you do better than steal people's drafts and give them to other studios?"
Su Ling felt wronged. "Boss, I didn't do it. I promise."
Wan Jia shot her a look of disgust. "Oh, you didn't? The only people who saw the drafts are the two of you. Are you saying that Lili did it?"
Lili spoke up. "Boss, I swear, I wouldn't dare to do it."
Su Ling added, "Maybe someone else snuck into the office and peeked at them or made copies?"
Wan Jia rolled her eyes. "Who gave you the permission to speak? You're both suspects." she glued her eyes onto Su Ling. "Especially you. I really underestimated your courage and desire to die."
After saying that, she shooed them away and drowned in thoughts. Who would have thought that Su Ling really had a motive for being her assistant? And to think she had even started trusting her! What a joke.
