Chapter 271 - Little Jia is a big girl now

Name:My Beautiful Love Author:Avalorian_
Xu Liaowen did not know what to tell the little girl. Their ages were three years and some months apart. Would they ever be playmates? By the time Lingxi grew up, Little Jia would have so many friends that she would forget all about her 'Small Xixi'. Where did she get that nickname anyway?

After giving Kara the toys meant for Xu Lingxi, Little Jia took a toy robot and a toy supervillain from that large bag and gave walked towards Tangtang.

"Tangtang, " she was still a little scared that the little boy would ignore her or shove her aside as usual.

Tangtang glanced up at the little girl.

"This is for you." She handed over the toys.

Tangtang looked at the toys and liked them at first glance. He really wanted to accept them but...could he really accept gifts from girls? What if it made her think that he was willing to play with her? He still didn't want to play with childish little girls.

In the end, the toys were too tempting and he was also unwilling to make Little Jia sad. It wouldn't be kind of him. He reached to accept them. "Thank you Little Jia."

Little Jia was happy and sat opposite Tangtang. Her mood was quite good. "I go to school now. Little Jia is now a big girl. Can you be my friend and play with me?"

Tangtang did not believe her. "Really? Which school?"

"Royal Kindergarten." Afraid that it was insufficient, Little Jia added the main point. "I no longer cry all the time."

Tangtang's mood warmed up by a notch. "Then we can be friends and play together!"

He really disliked cry babies. When Little Jia was two, there was a time when Lu Shaoting had taken them to the beach for fun. They had built sand castles and when it was time to go home, Little Jia had cried for a long time because she couldn't carry her sandcastle home.

Hearing that she was no longer a cry baby, he was happy so he led her into his playroom.

"But who will take care of Lingxi? What if someone hurts her?" He was still worried.

Ever since his little sister was born, Tangtang would never feel safe unless Xu Lingxi was within his line of sight. He was always worried that someone would steal her away or hurt her.

He would literally run into his father's car as soon as school was over and jump out to sprint into the house when the car stopped. He only became less paranoid after being pacified and convinced by his parents that Lingxi is safe. Still, he would still worry every time he had to leave her for a while.

Little Jia thought Tangtang was being unnecessarily silly. "Aren't Aunty Kara and Uncle Liaowen there? My second uncle is there with her too. With them watching over her, what could possibly happen?"

Tangtang was still not convinced. "If I'm there as well,  only then would nothing possibly happen."

Little Jia frowned at the little boy. "Can you protect yourself against the bad guys?"

Tangtang immediately shook his head. "No, daddy says that I will be able to when I grow up and become strong enough."

Little Jia knitted her little brows adorably. "You can't even protect yourself yet. How can you protect someone else? We are still little kids. We should leave that to the adults."

Tangtang found that he could not retaliate. He couldn't believe that he had just been convinced by a little girl younger than him.

The door was wide open and their voices were fairly loud so their conversation had been overheard by the three adults downstairs.

Xu Liaowen looked like he had been struck by lightning. He looked at his best friend opposite him. "How old did you say your niece is?"

Lu Shaoting was shocked too. "She will be four in a few weeks."

"Four? Surely you mean fourteen, right?"

A four year old girl had made his son speechless? One had to know that that little boy never lost in an argument. It made one wonder how he knew so many things at his age. It was only in matters he had no information about, and those too complex for him to understand  that he would keep quiet and let others do the talking. Even then, he would ask so many questions that one would wish to sew his mouth shut.

That wasn't the main point.

Such words coming from the mouth of a four year old child was quite shocking! Was Lu Aotian's daughter secretly a genius? She was too intelligent!

Actually, what they should be gushing over was not her intelligence but her memory. Her intelligence was still on a not-so-shocking level compared to her age but she had inherited her ability to remember things from her father. Of course it would be remarkable.

What she had said to Tangtang just now was an altered version of what her father had said to her before.

On the day that she fought in school because her little friend, Shen Yue, had been bullied, her father had said to her;  "You can't even protect yourself yet. How can you protect someone else? You are still a little child. You should leave that to the adults."

Still, she was still very young. It was remarkable that she was able to fit her father's words into another situation and make the paranoid Tangtang speechless.

The little boy could only conceed defeat. "Then, when I'm tall and strong enough, I will protect Lingxi. For now, I will let daddy and mommy do it."
