Chapter 286 - Do you really want to?

Su Ling recognized this woman. She was one of EFW's most priced designers, Ming Rui. What did she want from her?

She had a feeling it was nothing good.

"Su Ling, I have something to discuss with you. Let's talk in my office."

After sending Wan Jia a message, Su Ling followed Ming Rui.

She was right. It was nothing good.

"Do you want me to make you so famous in the fashion world that no one will be able to rival you?"

"There's no such thing as a free lunch." Su Ling said. For someone to make such a big offer, they must want to gain a huge benefit.

"Su Ling, I don't know how much Wan Jia pays you to work for her but it must be some sorry sum. After all people like her feel like they have the power to bully the weak as they please. Come  over to my side. I will pay you much more. Not only that, I will also help you become a designer yourself and win back your reputation."

Su Ling frowned. What kind of nonsense was Ming Rui spewing out? But she was still polite. "Designer Ming, I don't know what is driving you to ask this but I can only ever be my boss' assistant. If there's nothing else, I will be on my way."

Ming Rui did not explode into a fit of anger. Unexpectedly, she was even brighter and her tone became friendlier, as though she was coaxing Su Ling. "You don't have to pretend with me. I know you are the designer behind Wan Jia. Everything she has was made by you. She has unjustifiably used you to create her reputation in the fashion world and as a designer myself, it breaks my heart."

"Excuse me?" Su Ling squinted her eyes.

"Oh, are you shocked that I found out?" Ming Rui believed that she was right. "Actually with my status and connections, it's not that hard to know. You previously had some conflict with her and soon after she came to Elite Fashion World, you followed her here. Isn't it as easy as spelling your name? I am sure she used President Lu as a threat to force you into working for her, right? You must have suffered a lot."

Su Ling did not bother to be polite anymore. This woman was being too ridiculous. She stood angrily and said, "You should stop taking whatever crazy meds you are on." It was not a crime to try to scout her but how dare she slander her boss? That was the last thing she could stand.

"You! Do you think you can still continue to survive in this company after offending me? I will get you kicked out. Come and work for me!" Ming Rui was, like many other people who became proud after gaining a little reputation, quite arrogant. She only tried to coax Su Ling a little and showed her true colors when she couldn't have her way.

Su Ling did not care anymore and sauntered out of her office.

"You look like you have been bullied by someone." Wan Jia observed when Su Ling went back.

Su Ling sighed. "It cannot exactly be considered bullying. But I may have offended a big shot."

"What happened?"

When Su Ling explained everything, Wan Jia was not entirely shocked. She had already expected that since she was Lu Aotian's wife and could get anything she wanted just by coaxing him, people would doubt her abilities and talent. But that did not matter to her. As long as she did her job perfectly and gained the experience she needed, what everyone thought was none of her business.

She was happy that Su Ling would stand up for her instead of betraying her.

"Su Ling, although no one can fire someone I hired, you should still avoid getting into conflicts with people. It wouldn't be too nice for you if you gained many enemies."

Su Ling nodded. She was not ashamed of being protected by someone younger than her. It felt nice to be cared for by her boss.

In the north part of the capital,

North Hill Gynecological Hospital.

"Miss, have you thought this through? You should know that your uterus is abnormally thin. I hate to be blunt but this is the only child you will ever have. Do you really want to terminate it? Besides, it is such a healthy fetus. As a mother, can you bear to harm it?"

"Yes."

The gynecologist was quite upset by the straight answer she recieved after running her mouth off.  She was a woman herself and at the age of fourty, she had never had a child of her own. It was for this very reason that she became a gynecologist. Yet in front of her was a young woman who wanted to terminate her pregnancy. It pained her more than any form of heartbreak.

"Alright. Since what you really want is to send yourself and your unborn baby to your deaths, I will not try to persuade you anymore."

"Can I get it done right away?"

The gynecologist looked at her with the pain hidden in her eyes. "Sure."

But before she administered anesthesia, she asked her again. "Miss, are you sure you really want to do this?"

"Yes."

"Okay."

When that needle pierced the woman's skin, she finally believed that she was just about to murder an unborn baby.
