Chapter 372 - Glad that he wasn't behind it

"Can I stay in your private section before my meeting? I suddenly feel like drafting something."

"Go ahead." Lu Aotian said.

She took a diamond pen from his desk and some blank sheets of paper. Although she could do her designs using a computer, she felt it would be a waste of her tremendous drawing skills, so she preferred to use paper and pen.

"Wait, don't step on…" he was too late. He was going to say not to step on the white circle.

The flooring of the private section was plain, but with a press of a certain switch on Lu Aotian's side, a usually hidden white circle would appear in the centre. The white circle was a trap.

He had activated it so she could avoid it but he didn't finish saying it on time. She stepped right on it. In that instant, a section on the corner of the floor slid open and out of it rolled Thirty, leading a group of robots. There were more coming out.

"Master!" Thirty was going to report that there was an intruder but it suddenly detected the presence of the "intruder". It scanned her severally. The others followed the lead and scanned her too.

By the time Lu Aotian arrived, they were ready to attack.

"Intruder. Intruder." Thirty reported when its master stopped them from attacking using a remote control.

"You shut up." he said. How dare they call his wife an intruder?

When they rolled back into the gap they came from, Wan Jia was still astonished. "You have this many robots?"

Lu Aotian pulled her into his arms "You didn't get scared?"

"Why would I be scared? Robots are awesome. But why did they charge at me?"

"You don't have access rights yet." He would remember that.

She now had a ton of questions. "Just how many of them are there? They looked like there were more just now."

"The room below this office is full of them. There are more below Shaoting's office."

She was flabbergasted. "That many? Why then don't you make them run errands?"

"They are majorly for security. If something major and life-threatening happened in this building, they would be automatically activated. Ultimately, they have different roles."

Wan Jia looked at him with fan girl eyes as she heard more and more about robots from him. How could her husband be so awesome?

After asking him many more questions, she went to draw her drafts and Lu Aotian went back to work.

If Wan Jia didn't trigger those robots, he wouldn't do something important.

While he was mulling over it, Lu Shaoting came in. "Bro, did you realize what Qian Li's accident looks like? That Yun Jifeng is quite gutsy."

Lu Aotian found the opportunity to clear his brother's name in Wan Jia's mind. Although she brushed the matter off and didn't make a fuss over it, he saw it in her eyes that she still thought of Lu Shaoting as the culprit. "What has it got to do with Yun Jifeng?"

Lu Shaoting momentarily paused. Perhaps his never forgetting brother actually forgot? "This incident was all orchestrated by him. If anything were to happen to Qian Li, who would be the first suspect? Ring any bell?" he quoted Yun Jifeng's words to remind him.

"Such a stupid plan. Yet he has the guts to claim that he is as great as you. He can dream on. He can't be half as great as my brother even if he worked his butt off for ten lifetimes. Heh! It's an insult to fools to call him one of them."

In the private section, the door was open so Lu Aotian wouldn't have trouble if he had anything to tell her.

Hearing Lu Shaoting's words, she was stunned. So he really wasn't the one who tried to hurt Qian Li, but Yun Jifeng instead?

In actual fact, after hearing the secret between the Qians and the Lus, she more or less stopped caring about Qian Li possibly being her brother. After all she was a member of the Lu family and there had never been anything between her and the Qians. If she were to pick sides, she would automatically choose the Lu family. As for Qian Li, she only thought of him as a doctor now. Nonetheless, he had helped her twice and she was still happy that her brother-in-law wasn't behind that accident.

Would it…be okay if she visited him in hospital, just out of gratitude?

Never mind. It wasn't appropriate.

Lu Shaoting's voice filled the air again. "Should I strike down Platinum Grand Hotel? I think it could be one of the reasons why sister-in-law was attacked. You know, to sow discord between me and her. Of course if my sister-in-law hates me, the greatest conflict would be between you and I."

Lu Shaoting's analysis was correct. If someone tried to assassinate you when you're starting a company, the first suspect would be your opponent. In this case, Lu Shaoting was her greatest "competitor".

"You don't need to. I know what to do."

"I know who the mole is."

"So do I."

"You're still keeping him around?"

"If not, I should get rid of him? That would be letting him off too easily."

"When you're done with him, I'll deal with him too."

"How about you deal with him? Vent your anger."

In the private section, Wan Jia was speechless. Weren't those two in a cold war? They still sounded so supportive of each other that she was moved.

That wasn't the main point.

Were they seriously discussing who deals with a person's life as though they were sharing property?
