Chapter 547 - Withdraw his investment

For the rest of their journey to the Lin residence, the pair of siblings each minded their own business. 

Lu Meili was jubilant when they arrived. 

"Grandma! Grandma, we're here." 

Xia Rou gathered her little strength to rush over to her grandchildren. "Ah! My little baby darlings. Xian Yu is getting taller and more handsome by the day while you Little Li..." 

Lu Meili felt nervous. "What about me, grandma?" 

Xia Rou looked emotional. "It feels like I'm looking at the younger version of my Little Wan once again. You are a split resemblance of her. However, you are more beautiful." 

"Grandma, you flatter me." 

Lu Meili studied her grandmother. Who was it that said that Xia Rou was weak? Which part of her was weak? She was obviously still healthy, alright?" 

"Grandma, where is grandpa?" Lu Meili asked when she didn't see any sign of Lin Zhou. 

"Hmph! Luckily, my little angel still likes me the most. If not, this old woman would keep silent forever and not tell me that my little angel came to visit." Lin Zhou harrumphed as he entered the living room. 

"Grandpa!" Lu Meili rushed to hug him, and so did Lu Xian Yu. 

"Good girl, Meili. Good boy Xian Yu. Where is Xian Li?"

Lu Xian Yu had nothing to say, while his sister was fitful. "Grandpa, the first thing you did when you saw me is ask about my sister. It's not fair."  

"That's not true. It's the third thing. Anyway, I still love you the most." 

Lu Meili's eyes lit up. "Really, really?" 

"Hmph. Always stealing my darling grandchildren from me. Shameless old man." Xia Rou grumbled. 

"Pfft. The both of you still love each other so much. How cute." 

"Who loves this old man? I'm going to divorce him and own a harem of young men." 

Lu Meili chuckled. "Grandma, can you not say such things? Grandpa would be too lonely if you did that." 

"She has been talking about divorce since you guys were kids. She would never leave me because she loves me too much." Lin Zhou said smugly, sending Lu Meili into another round of laughter. Who said that elderly people couldn't be romantic?

Her grandparents were obviously the most loving elderly couple she had seen in this lifetime. 

Her parents would of course be the most loving couple even if she lived ten more lifetimes. 

However, her aunt...

She hoped Katy would really manage to make her stay.

"Little Li, what happened? Are you experiencing any difficulties?" Xia Rou was quick to notice her granddaughter's sadness. 

Lu Meili jolted. No wonder her mother was so attentive. She had got it from her grandmother. "Grandma, I just miss aunty very much. Especially since it's been long since I ate brownies made by her." 

Xia Rou pinched her cheeks. "Come on, grandma still has the strength to make as many brownies as you like. It's a pity that Lihua won't let you have them in the name of watching your weight." 

"If I eat only a little, no one will find out, right?" 

"You little girl."

Since her grandchildren had come, Xia Rou insited on cooking for them. 

When they were done eating, Lu Xian Yu went to play GO with his grandfather. Lu Meili used this chance to ask her grandmother some questions. 

"Grandma, what do you think of Sis Katy?" 

Xia Rou didn't look too pleased by this question. "What about her?" 

From that reaction alone, Lu Meili had her answer. Lin Lihua wasn't the only one who had been turned against Katy. "What about Sis Ruoxi?" 

Xia Rou looked at her granddaugher. "If you mean to ask who is better between the two, that would obviously be Ruoxi. She is such a sensible child." 

Lu Meili's heart broke. The damage that Ruoxi had caused was much more than she thought. Initially, Wan Jia must have also thought that Ruoxi was the kind one. 

If she was beeing honest, she had thought so too. 

She had remained friendly to Katy because she thought Katy was too pitiful. It was only with time that she found out that Katy was in fact a nice person. It didn't make sense until she found out just what Ruoxi had been doing. 

Although this was logically none of her business, she couldn't stand aside and do nothing when she could do something about this. 

"Grandma actually..." 

"What's up my dear?" Xia Rou was all ears. 

"I think..." she searched for the best words to not shock Xia Rou. "I think there's something wrong with Sis Ruoxi.  She... she's not as friendly as she used to be. Perhaps... something happened to her?" 

"What could possibly happen?" 

"I don't know. I just think something is wrong." 

Xia Rou rubbed her head. Lu Meili's hair was so attractive that eveyone liked rubbing or tousling it. "Don't worry about it. The next time I see her, I will find out if anything is wrong." 

"Thanks grandma."

Xu Tang was still bickering with his sister when he recieved a call.

"Han, is there anything urgent?" 

"CEO, it's not good. The screenwriter of 'Dancer of the year' is here. He insists that you must withdraw your investment from the movie." 

"What? Why?" Xu Tang exclaimed. One had to know that this movie meant a lot to him. He couldn't simply withdraw his investment. 

"He said that he has recieved a hundred million from another investor. It would be too much if he still kept you." 

Just like Han, Xu Tang didn't think this explanation made any sense. "Stall him for a while. I'm on my way." 

"Also, something went wrong with the project we are preparing to bid for. Mr. Du suddenly said that we don't need to waste our time."
