Chapter 591 - Stay far away from it

Lu Meili sighed. Her fans were so nice. It must be because all these years, she had never done anything that tarnished her own name. No matter how many times people tried to defame her, HL entertainment would make sure their slander didn't even reach the public eye. It was a shock that someone managed to do it this time.

Scrolling down, she finally found the 'evidence of her moving from one rich man to another'

It was a video of her in a car. The person beside her was none other than xu Tang. 

"Xu Tang, I love you. I have loved you for very many years." That was the scene where she confessed her feelings to Xu Tang.

Following, the person had explained how despite confessing her feelings to Xu Tang, she had quickly gotten engaged to another man. 

Photos and a short video of her enaggement party the previous night supported these words. 

Lu Meili scoffed. "There's only one man who has the motive to do this. Just when I thought he had come back to his senses." 

Mu Zhichen was unhappy too. Was Xu Tang the type of man who would rather destroy something than let someone else have it?

Lu Meili was non longer as happy as she was from the delicious breakfast. "I will deal with him." 

Mu Zhichen didn't say anything against it. He had told her because she would find out anyway, and the person who would deal with this kind of news in the best way was her.

"I will drop you off to HL entertainment. I wanted to spend some time with you today. Unfortunately, this happened." 

Lu Meili was regretful too. "I will handle this issue as soon as I can. We can spend time together tomorrow.

Mu Zhichen dropped Lu Meili off at HL Entertainment. 

She had expected to be swarmed by reporters at her arrival, but she didn't expect them to be this many. 

She regarded them with a cold glare and walked right through them to HL entertainment's building. 

"How can you simply walk off? We are here to ask you questions." A reporer suddenly snapped back to her senses. Why did she unconciously cower off just now? Was it because Lu Meili glared at her? 

The girl turned around leisurely. "What's your business got to do with me?" 

The reporters couldn't understand why they were suddenly intimidated by Lu Meili's aura. Why did she look so scary today?

Of course, none of these reporters were bound to be friendly to her. One look and she could tell that they were either sent over by the rival entertainment agencies or Annie Lan. Why then would she be friendly to them? "Do you have an appointment?"

"What?" The reporters were taken aback. They needed an appointment? What kind of nonsense was that?

"Sorry. I will only accept interviews if you have an appointment. I'm a busy woman. If you'll excuse me, I still have a movie to shoot today." She sauntered away just like that, leaving them even more furious. How dare she look down on trhem?

Lu Meili didn't regret being a bit harsh. She wouldn't let these people trample on her. Which eye of theirs saw her being unsettled and having affairs with multiple men? They ought to show a little more seriousness when speaking to actresses.

She took an elevator to the thirtieth floor and walked to the CEO's office.

"Aunt."

Lin Lihua was looking through the portfolios of new artistes that she wanted to recruit. She only raised her head slightly to speak to Lu Meili.  "How are you going to resolve it?" She asked, referring to the scandal.

"I will deal with it this evening." She took a deep breath decisively. "I will tell everyone the truth." 

Lin Lihua regarded the girl before her. She was so confident. Ever since HL Entertainment came to existence, Lu Meili was the first actress to ever be so open about her relationship matters.

"That will mean you also have to announce your engaged status and pull Mu Zhichen into the mix. Are you sure?" 

Lu Meili already knew this. This was the only downside of being a superstar - one's whole life was a broadcast. It was lucky that her future husband and his family understood and didn't mind being pulled into the limelight along with her. 

"Aunt, there are no issues. I will go ahead and complete my work for today."

Leaving Lin Lihua's office, she glared at the reporters outside HL Entertainment building and took the nanny van assigned to her by the company to the filming location.

Just like the weird reporters from earlier, the other crew members kept casting her curious looks.

"If you have something to ask, go ahead. I hate it when people sneak up to me to take a look." She said to a supporting actress who wouldn't keep her eyes off Lu Meili. She looked sneaky and if there was another word to describe her actions, creepy.

The little girl looked flustered. "I was wondering if.. you could teach me how to seduce men."

Lu Meili clenched her fist and bit her lip hard, then she took several deep breaths. 

When the wave of anger that had suddenly surged into her heart calmed down, she flashed a smile. "What a coincidence, I also want to take lessons about how to be an idiot. Will you teach me?"

"Are you calling me an idiot?" The girl was angered.

"Aren't you?" Lu Meili continued reading through her script, not willing to keep on wasting her time with idle idiots.

"The rumors are true. You are just a shameless slut. So what if you have been an actress for many years? It doesn't change the fact that you are still slutty. How many men have been with you already?" 

Lu Meili ignored her, and the girl's words turned nastier. "Tsk. So what if you are engaged to a young master from a rich family? It must be because you shamelessly seduced him and faked pregnancy to pin him down." 

Lu Meili raised her hand. Just as it was about to land, she caught a flicker of light from the corner of her eye. It downed on her. This girl was here to agitate her. If she hit her, it would ruin her reputation.

A debate suddenly appeared in her mind. A photo had already been taken. Should she just slap the girl since her hand was mid-air already? But what if she accidentally sent the girl to the morgue?

She couldn't help laughing though. Just how much did this girl hate herself? She was actually willing to recieve a beating from her just to soil her reputatipn? Wasn't she scared that Lu Meili would be unable to control her strength and she would end up six feet underground?

"Scram!" She spat out through gritted teeth. 

The tiny girl scurried away like a scared rabbit. 

The girl was terrified just now when she saw Lu Meili raise her fist. Rumor had it that Lu Meili had once sent someone to hospital by a mere slap. 

She was only here because she was being threatened. If not, she wouldn't dare to provoke this overlord. 

Lu Meili harrumphed. Her day couldn't be ruined by a little girl, now could it?

As promised, Lu Meili did clear up her own name. 

To be exact, she didn't need to make a move. Xu Tang made one himself. 

He held a press conference and showed the video from the car to the reporters. 

"I only uploaded this video out of whim. The actual truth is that, I love Meili but I lost her. I didn't know that a video I uploaded emotionally would be used by someone to cause such an uproar. I will deal with them later. I apoligize for all the trouble this video caused. As for Lu Meili's private life, I believe she owes no one an explanation because that's exactly what it is - her private life." 

Lu Meili watched the conference on her phone. "Since you know it is private. You should stay far away from it."

Well, he did stay away from it. At least he didn't cause any more trouble. That press conference was in fact his last public appearance.
