Chapter 401: Chapter 401: The Best Way to Kick Dongfang Qi Out
Dongfang Mu didn’t like Dongfang Qi looking at Qiao Yin in such a manner, he lightly patted Qi, “Give my tea a try, Qi. It’s the newly purchased Jinjunmei. I remember you like drinking this.”
Dongfang Qi subtly withdrew his gaze and joked, “You’re really not being serious, Cousin. The last time I was here, you only gave me plain boiled water, and now, there’s Jinjunmei. I guess I’m reaping the benefits of Xuanxuan’s presence?”
“As long as you know!”
After Dongfang Mu said that, the three of them laughed.
The atmosphere seemed very pleasant.
However, Dongfang Qi knew that the best tea in Dongfang Mu’s possession wasn’t some Jinjunmei, but rather a piece of Pu’er tea he had won at an auction.
Not offering him Pu’er tea was understandable, after all, their competition was ruthless behind the front of cordial brotherhood.
But even when Gu Ranxuan was there, he still didn’t offer her any.
Dongfang Mu was not petty. He’d never hesitated to shower actresses with luxury cars and jewellery in the past.
This piece of Pu’er only cost a million. So why wouldn’t he serve it to Gu Ranxuan?
There was only one possibility—he had given it to another woman.
Dongfang Qi couldn’t resist glancing at Qiao Yin again, concluding that Dongfang Mu had likely given the Pu’er to Qiao Yin to win her affections.
Gu Ranxuan, who was quietly enjoying her tea, noticed Dongfang Qi constantly glancing over at Qiao Yin.
She felt a bit disappointed.
It seemed that these two cousins from the Dongfang Family were both equally smitten by beauty, stopping in their tracks at the sight of a beautiful woman.
The only difference was that Dongfang Mu didn’t bother to hide it, while Dongfang Qi still pretended to be the very image of a gentleman.
So she excused herself: “Thank you for the tea, Young Master Mu. You are busy with work, we won’t disturb you any longer. When given a chance to visit Gu Family home, my father has collected many excellent teas. We’ll be sure to serve them.”
“Great, I’ll definitely have to try them when given a chance.”
Gu Ranxuan smiled and nodded. She and Dongfang Qi left Dongfang Mu’s office together.
Dongfang Mu watched them enter the elevator. As the elevator doors closed, the smile on his face deepened substantially.
His intention to keep Qiao Yin in his office had been successful.
As he had expected, Dongfang Qi couldn’t control his longing glances towards Qiao Yin.
Although Gu Ranxuan had excellent self-restraint and showed no signs of displeasure, her quick departure indicated her discontent towards Dongfang Qi.
This marriage alliance now had a high chance of falling through!
He turned to look at Qiao Yin, who had also come out to send them off, his smile was warm: “Assistant Qiao performed well today, I’ll give you a bonus this month.”
Qiao Yin could sense his happiness but she did not know the source of his joy.
She didn’t ask either.
It was only logical to accept money when the boss handed it out. She had indeed done her best serving the tea, she felt no guilt accepting additional pay.
“Thankyou, Young Master Mu.”
Dongfang Mu smiled again.
He liked her unflappable demeanor. She wouldn’t become overly emotional when given extra money, and certainly wouldn’t grow feelings for him over it.
It was clear she had grown up in comfortable circumstances, she worked hard to make money, but she didn’t treat it as an emotional matter, her grandmother—a known doctor, did a very good job nurturing her.
Every time Dongfang Mu interacted with her, he found himself liking her more.
Earlier, when Dongfang Qi was staring at her, he felt uneasy, how was he supposed to act in the future?
He was not in charge of his own marital affairs, the Dongfang Family would certainly not allow Qiao Yin to join them.
Unless, he could become the head of the family.
He had never felt a stronger desire to be the leader of the family than in this moment!
If he wanted to take control, he first had to gain his grandfather’s approval. To gain his approval, he would need to kick Dongfang Qi out of the scene!
And, as his father said, the best way to do this was to form a union with the Cui Family.
