32 The Power Of Choice
"It's the natural job of the strongest to protect the weakest. Though we humans have the power of choice.

I could have stood at the side like the others, with a scowl on my face or disdain, perhaps fear and thought to myself,' the strong prey on the weak!', Or I could have chosen to move forward and save you.
Both choices were open to me, both good and bad. Though I chose the good, I still don't think I'll be going to paradise if I die right now, but, my years of experience taught me that, in most cases, the good choice always leads to a better ending, just like my saving you helping to gain a healer which is an automatic life saver..." Liam explained lengthily almost like he was talking to himself when suddenly both of them heard the increase in heartbeat as they turned towards the young man at the far edge.
"Quit the formality, the weak will die! And only the strong will survive. That's the reality of life." The young man said with a plain expression before turning back and facing the wall.
The silence ensued in the room for the next thirty minutes as Liam stood up from the seat and took out four of the five candles before moving towards the bedroom.
"See you all later in the morning and sweet dreams..." Liam said, jumping on the bed and dozing off.
Three hours later...
The place was almost completely dark save the candlelight barely illuminating the place. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
The sound of breathing in the entire place was even, a sign Khan interpreted as that of deep sleep.
Slowly, he rose to his feet as he walked towards the candle and picked it up from the stand, placing it in a lamp-shaped object bedside the stand which was supposed to be some luminous refraction object for the candle.
Gently placing the candle in it and closing the lamp, the light brightened up a little providing much illumination as Khan raised it with the iron handle.
Mitsuri was the only one present in the living room and slept on one of the larger cushions while the remaining three men were in the bedroom.
Seeing she was fast asleep, he walked towards the wall on the other side and raised the candle to see the image imprinted on it.
It was a simple picture, consisting of humans, except they all had long white hair that reached to their back both male and female, and with pointed ears.
Lastly was his Katana, and Khan sheathed it before placing it just beside his waist for all to see. It would be strange if he was walking around with no weapons at all and might leave his opponent wary, but with the Katana, he would create an impression of a swordsman on his opponents who wouldn't be aware of the dangerous tools on him.
Though a little mundane, it has worked perfectly On many occasions to catch his enemies off guard and drill a bullet in their skulls before they understood what was going on.
"HU"
Feeling everything in its right position, he heaved a sigh of relief as the feeling of being butt-naked finally disappeared.
Tomorrow was going to be a tough day for sure, but he was more than ready!

The golden rays from the sunlight passed through the lightly opened space of the window present in the room as Khan opened his eyes turning to stand up.
He could see the group was also slowly standing, all preparing for exit when suddenly his nose crunched together as a surprised expression appeared on his face which didn't go unnoticed by the group.
"What is it?" Liam asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Um, is it snowing?"
"What!"
"Is he drunk? "
"Where did he get the alcohol?"
Khan ignored their senselessness before moving closer to the window and opening it. Immediately all of their jaws dropped to the ground.
"It's... it's truly snowing. But how?"
